Forewoman of Roger Stone Jury Criticizes Trump In FaceBook Post;
People Discover She Has Long Been a Rabidly Anti-Trump, Anti-Republican Zealot Who Ran for Congress as a Democrat and Tweeted About Stone Before the Trial

This conviction will have to be thrown out. This woman is obviously biased beyond any capability of dispassionate evaluation. And she wasn't just a juror, but the jury foreman, so she probably influenced the other jurors.

And also, it seems highly likely she lied in the voir dire process of weeding out biased jurors to get on the jury.

he jury foreman on the Roger Stone trial came forward on social media Wednesday to defend the four prosecutors who withdrew from the case after the Department of Justice overruled their excessive sentencing recommendation.

A Facebook post written by Tomeka Hart, the senior program officer for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, was picked up by multiple news outlets. But the reports left out some highly pertinent details about her background--namely that Hart is a hyperpartisan Democratic Party activist who is rabidly anti-Trump and a Russia-collusion truther.

In this tweet, for example, she retweets someone laughing at Roger Stone for complaining about his excessive-force arrest. See, a White Man has no right to complain about that...!

She was/is OBSESSED with following the CNN/MSNBC Deep State Soap Opera.

Read the whole thing.

By the way: When she realized people were finding her most floridly lunatic conspiracy tweets, she began deleting huge swaths of her social media history.

Who knows which tweets we missed because she had made sure to delete them in the first few minutes after being caught.

Unbiased Update: Chuck Ross finds this one:

Her Twitter feed shows dozens of references to Trump, many of them links to negative stories about the Republican. In a Twitter post on Aug. 19, 2017, Hart quoted a tweet referring to Trump as the "#KlanPresident," in an apparent reference to the KKK.

This one's good, too.

Update: Apparently one juror did admit to being a partisan Democrat and to having "negative feelings" about Trump.

The judge refused Stone's lawyer's request to excuse her for cause.

That would probably explain how this incredibly biased forewoman was never struck.

Correction: I thought this must be the same biased Democrat juror, but a friend tells me: no, that's another biased partisan Democrat the judge allowed on the jury.

Posted by: Nick in Tallahassee at February 13, 2020 12:15 PM (JRaU+)"

Because you have to get 66 votes in the Senate to pass a new amendment, and they realize there is no chance of that. So the old one is their only hope.

The WaPo and other outlets are acting like what the House passed today means something - but unless the Senate also passes it, it means nothing, and I do not think McConnell will even allow it to come to a vote. Suppose they do, Trump can always veto it like he's going to veto the silly war powers resolution they passed yesterday.

And Ginsburg already said the old ERA is dead, it expired. They can't bring it back from the grave, and there is at least a 7-2 SCOTUS vote against them if they try to push it that far. (but I doubt they will)

I suspect that if you're being railroaded by the deep state, you need to pick a lawyer that:

And that first juror was an only-in-Washington character, a former
Obama-era press secretary for the Office of Management and Budget whose
husband still works at the Justice Department division that played a
role in the Russia probe that ultimately snagged Stone
. She acknowledged
having negative views of President Donald Trump and said she had
followed the media coverage of special counsel Robert Mueller's
investigation.

Still, the woman said she did not have strong views about Stone, and
Jackson denied a request from Stone's lawyers to strike the woman as a
potential juror.

So here's the good part:

Hart was interviewed on Nov. 5, 2019 along with a group of other potential jurors. Hart is not identified by name in the transcript (she is referred to as Juror Number 1261), but the description matches her resume. Hart ran for Congress and also served as the foreperson on a grand jury in Tennessee for two years.

“You’ve also indicated a fair amount of paying attention to news and social media including about political things?” Judge Amy Berman Jackson asked Hart.

“Yes,” she replied.

“And when we asked what you read or heard about the defendant, you do understand that he was involved in Mr. Trump’s campaign in some way?” Jackson asked.

“Yes,” she said.

“Is there anything about that that affects your ability to judge him fairly and impartially sitting here right now in this courtroom?” Jackson queried.

“Absolutely not,” Hart answered.

“What is it that you have read or heard about him?” asked Jackson.

“So nothing that I can recall specifically,” Hart replied. “I do watch sometimes paying attention but sometimes in the background CNN.”

“So I recall just hearing about him being part of the campaign and some belief or reporting around interaction with the Russian probe and interaction with him and people in the country, but I don’t have a whole lot of details. I don’t pay that close attention or watch C-SPAN,” she continued.

“Can you kind of wipe the slate clean and learn what you need to learn in this case from the evidence presented in the courtroom and no other source?” Jackson asked, to which Hart responded, “Yes.”

I sat in the courtroom during Roger Stone's jury selection

Time and again his lawyers pointed out anti-Trump bias on the part of jurors

And one by one the judge dismissed their concerns.

https://tinyurl.com/qrmgqpw

No, she's not completely won over (she voted for Pete in the primary). But she's fair and honest and sees what the left has become. The comments are also interesting - most of the "I was a Dem until (pick an event) and now I see how hateful they are and I'm voting for Trump." The few leftist comments basically make her point for her.

197 Thing I don't get is this: during voir dire, lawyers have a limited number of potential jurors whom they can dismiss for no reason at all. During a high profile trial, this number is typically large. How is it that a judge is able to overrule these dismissals, which are normally unchallengeable?

225 I admittedly don't know a whole lot about the law but don't both sides get x amount of challenges where they can shitcan a potential juror and not have to have a reason?
_____________

There are two types of ways to challenge a juror: challenges for cause, and peremptory challenges. You challenge a juror for cause when you think the juror can't render a fair and impartial verdict. Attorneys get unlimited challenges for cause, but they have to state the reason for the challenge, and the judge can overrule them. You get a limited number of peremptory challenges, where you can get rid of a juror for any reason (except an improper reason, like race) and you don't have to give your reason. If you challenge a juror for cause and the judge rejects your challenge, you can still use a peremptory challenge on that juror, if you have peremptory challenges left to use. If you've run out though, you're screwed.

@CharlieGileNBC
The defense moved to dismiss one potential juror, a former attorney who wrote in his questionnaire that he was "opposed to everything Donald Trump stands for." He said he understands his biases and thinks his understanding will help him apply the law to the facts.

303 The government had better hope none of the normals are paying attention.

This isn't about Stone. Or Flynn. Or Manafort. Or Trump. Or Biden. Or Antifa riots in Berkeley and Portland. Or ______.

It's about the fact that there is no law and there is no justice. None. These are dead concepts. All there is left is power by any means necessary.

The cops do not protect. The cops do not defend. The cops merely enforce the will of their political masters. They do not enforce law and they do not investigate crime. They railroad who they are told to railroad.

Once that railroading reaches a certain point, they move to the courts. The courts are not a place for justice. The courts are not even a place for law. The courts are merely a place for the final doling out of punishment to whoever is being railroaded.

Justice and law are dead, and G-d help us all if significant numbers of regular people become hip to it.

And you can't "dismiss" a Federal Judge. Only (legal) recourse is Impeachment, so let's go ask Nancy Pelosi to file those articles for us.

If you want to get a little bit of optimism, then consider this - at least it finally IS going on in the open. It's been going on behind closed doors for at least 10 - 20 years now. Maybe a lot more None of this is new, you're just being exposed to it now.

A lot of good people are finally waking up to the fact that the Branch Davidian fiasco truly was a case of the Federal Government openly and deliberately slaughtering over 50 innocent people, just so an agency could make its budgetary requests look good. And then every arm of the Fed Government engaged in a deliberate whitewash and cover up of what they had done, and everyone involved knew it. Same goes for Randy Weaver.

Our government has been deeply, deeply corrupt for a long, long time. Ordinary people are finally starting to realize it.

Spouses Cassidy (nee Casey) and Jessica Forbes founded Ravelry in May 2007. Their idea was to create a web presence for all fiber artists.

On June 23, 2019, Ravelry announced via a blog post that it would ban expressions of support of U.S. president Donald Trump and his administration. The reason given was an incompatibility of Ravelry's policy of inclusiveness with the Trump administration's "support for open white supremacy". The details of the policy were adapted from a similar policy established by tabletop role-playing community RPGnet in October 2018.

I stress that I'm not losing sleep if Trump/ Barr take this very obvious step or not. They might not even hand out pardons, because that would imply guilt. The fact is, if the judges think they are above the law there are alternatives to begging Nancy Pelosi for a removal.

Technically, a Judge violates a defendant's civil rights every time they sentence them to prison. 483 Curiously, I look forward to jury duty. Frankly, I feel that my good judgement is better than 100% of the jurors that I have served with.

Jurors (and, the attorneys know this well) are easily susceptible to emotional manipulation. You have to be prepared to snap them out of that by straightforward, obvious reasoning.

Posted by: Mike Hammer, etc.,etc. at February 13, 2020 01:59 PM (CDGwz)

484 You get unlimited challenges for cause and just a handful of preemptory challenges (you can kick off a few juror without establishing cause to the satisfaction of the judge). However, if the judge denies your challenges for cause you have to be strategic with your use of peremptory challenges. If everyone in the jury pool is a nightmare (and in DC that is most certainly the case) you can easy get stuck with a horribly biased juror. It come down to the judge. She probably set a very high bar for challenges for cause. General political bias was probably not enough. The juror had to have shown bias towards Stone.

I do cases in LA where cops sometimes testify. During voir dire the jurors will be asked if they are more or less likely to believe a black witness, and no one will raise their hand, no one will admit to being racists. But when we ask if anyone is more or less likely to believe a cop, every potential black juror raises their hand, says they will not believe a word a cop says and gets kick off the jury. They are hurting their own cause. They should lie like the racists and get on the jury and influence its outcome. Not be honest and get kicked for cause. They don't even require the cop's side to use a preemptory.

485 There is no such thing as a Democrat judge. We are all pure as the driven yellow snow.

488 484 You get unlimited challenges for cause and just a handful of preemptory challenges (you can kick off a few juror without establishing cause to the satisfaction of the judge).

Objection: Evidence not presented taken as a given: That all white people are racist but won't admit it.
