British Pollster's Post-Mortem for Labour Party's Absolute Drubbing in Elections Has Obvious Parallels to America's Spiraling Left Wing

From Iain Murray at Instapundit, Corbynization didn't work for Labour.

We'll have to see if it will work in America.

Spoiler Alert: It will not.

[T]he feeling that the Labour Party was no longer for [former Labour voters] went beyond Brexit and the Corbyn leadership. While it had once been true that "they knew us, because they were part of us," Labour today seemed to be mostly for students, the unemployed, and middle-class radicals. It seemed not to understand ordinary working people, to disdain what they considered mainstream views and to disapprove of success. The "pie in the sky" manifesto of 2019 completed the picture of a party that had separated itself from the reality of their lives.

As far as many of these former supporters were concerned, then, the Labour Party they rejected could not be trusted with the public finances, looked down on people who disagreed with it, was too left-wing, failed to understand or even listen to the people it was supposed to represent, was incompetent, appallingly divided, had no coherent priorities, did not understand aspiration or where prosperity comes from, disapproved of their values and treated them like fools.

Steven Greene at Instapundit has this related story, about a Monmouth University Poll showing Republican (and Independent) enthusiasm running higher than Democrat enthusiasm.

All partisan groups feel more enthusiastic than they did four years ago, including Republicans (47% more enthusiastic now versus 32% in 2016), Democrats (36% now versus 20% in 2016), and independents (34% now versus 15% in 2016).

Guys, I don't want to start counting chickens before they're hostaed, but I just checked: There are literally tons of chickens. There are so many beautiful chickens you'll get tired of all the chickens.

It's like we just had cold chicken Arctic front smash into a warm chicken front from the Caribbean and it produced a circular chicken storm which drowned the east coast and upper midwest under 14 - 20 inches of chickens.

Also, the chickens are all wearing MAGA hats and clucking "BUILD THE WALL."

Bank on it. 342 "electoral chickens," if you know what I mean, and I think you do.

I think New Hampshire "chickens" can be counted on to "flip" their feathers, as well as Colorado and Virginia "chickens" too.

ICYMI: I added an update to the last post. In case people missed it, I'm posting it again, below.

Update to Last Story: The fourth Rogue Angry Democrat Prosecutor has resigned and joined in the next politico-media operation to get yet another investigation going. This is Marando, the one involved in the fake prosecution of Democrat IT staffer/Pakistani criminal Imran Awan.

Charles Schumer immediately demanded a Special Counsel to investigate this noncrime.

Prosecutors have wide discretion in charging people and making sentencing recommendations -- it was this wide discretion that permitted IG Horowitz to not charge Mueller and the "Midyear Review" gang for doing everything possible to avoid charging Hillary Clinton or any of her cronies.

But now Schumer wants to claim there's an objective standard that must be adhered to, and it's a crime to charge anyone less than the maximum possible that a vindictive political-operative-masqerrading-as-a-prosecutor can invent.

If that's the case: McCabe, Brennan, Comey, and Clapper, as well as Hillary Clinton and her cronies, all need to be prosecuted immediately, and, furthermore, the people who refused to prosecute them must themselves be prosecuted.

Oh wait -- the "wide discretion" standard still covers those cases, right?

Does everyone realize that Trump has had a Special Counsel investigation on him for two and a half years, then just a month of relative peace before Schiff and Nadler started the Fake Impeachment investigation?

And now they're trying to get another Special Counsel investigation. If/when that is refused, they'll use that as a pretext to open another Fake Impeachment Inquiry.

They are literally attempting to make it so that Trump spends virtually every month of his first four year term -- and then every month of his second four year term -- under vaguely-defined free-ranging criminal investigation.

They are rewriting the Constitution so that President Trump -- and I guess any other future president who upsets the Deep State -- will have a Permanent Court of Inquisition on eternal fishing expeditions open at all times.

I hope Bill Barr reviews Janet Reno's explanation as to why she needed no Special Counsel to investigate allegations involving she herself.

She decided that she was impartial enough to decide that no further investigation into her decisions was warranted.

The mere assertions Clinton or Vice President Gore were "involved" in soliciting or receiving possibly improper donations, or contributors met with the president and benefited from government decisions, "fall far short of the sort of specific facts" necessary to trigger appointment of an independent counsel, Richard wrote.

"To the extent that there are allegations that may warrant criminal investigation at this time, they relate only to lower-ranking public officials, DNC employees and contributors," the letter said.

"Mere assertions." Remember those words.

212 Nissan is the latest car maker to temporarily shut one of its factories as it can't get parts from China.

The firm will halt production for two days at a plant in Japan which makes the Serena and X-Trail models.

Global car brands are facing similar disruptions as much of China's manufacturing sector remains locked down due to the deadly coronavirus.

Hyundai temporarily closed its factories in South Korea last week due to a shortage of Chinese parts.

In fact, many of the world's biggest car makers are dealing with dwindling supplies as factories across China remain closed.

245 I was incredibly excited about the Dec. 12 UK Election, because I knew it was a precurser to US elections, *especially* if they nominate Burnie.

I just looked up "Corbyn" for news items, and the first 3 that popped up are unintentionally hilarious, showing that the Brit left is still locked into the madness and delusions that caused them to be wiped out:

1) Labour is still blaming "bigoted" voters for it's woes, not Jeremy Corbyn
2) Labour was seen as weak, indecisive, lacking in patriotism, and had "terrorist sympathies", by December's voters
3) Corbyn advisor says that the Chief Rabbi (of London) was used as a "resource" by the "bourgesie" against Labour.

All of those elements are present in the American left.

Illegals pay the same dues as citizens, and they are easier to cow.

If you are a really corrupt union boss, you can add more shadow workers and split the take with the mob. The illegal workers are not going to say shit. Hell, you can probably shake them down for part of their pay too.

290 Every one of Trump's rallies draws about 25 percent registered Democrats and another 15 percent people who didn't vote in 2016.

And the way the Trump Campaign knows this info is these people are happily giving the info when they sign up to attend.

That is an enormous shift in potential voters away from the Donks and toward Trump. And it can't be hidden with bullshit polls that show All Democrats Beating Trump 52 to 48.

This is why the Dems are terrified and why they have to keep running fake scandal after fake scandal at Trump.

Comparative advantage was supposed to apply to inflexible things like soil and growing conditions.

The British raise lots of wool while Portugal grows grapes for wine.

It was never meant to mean a race to the bottom of subsistence wages. One reason why the British working classes rallied against slavery was because they realized that one day slaves might be factory employees.

Never forget: the Southern cotton economy was the original globalism.

https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2020/president/National.html

Just a reminder
1) the national polls in 2016 were accurate, but the state polls were the ones that failed to show Trump's strength in battleground states
2) I wouldn't count on another electoral college / popular vote split
3) remember how confident everyone was in 2012 about how the polls were wrong.

I want trump to win, which is why I don't want trump and his supporters (including me) to get complacent and assume it's in the bag. This is still an uphill battle. Don't fool yourself.

The trick is to not have a manager of a HOA. Self-manage. All you need then is someone to send the bills and a lawyer you know for the few times you need to evict someone.

Yep. And as has been the history, the Western Left plays footsie with Marxists and is subsumed by them. I still think the Democrats will deny Bernie the nomination but there may just be too many communists among the Democrats now to stop him. Eventually a Bernie will be president and then people will have to decide whether to go along with it. Democrats refused to accept a candidate who didn't embrace their open borders immigration policies, for God's sake, so surely the other half of the nation won't accept a communist.

My confidence that the GOPe cant find a way to lose or will gain too few seats in congress to be able to support Trump - Pretty low. Honestly I don't trust the GOPe not to lose on purpose, and then there is all the fraud the Dems have laid groundwork for.

Mail in balloting. What a joke and I don't understand why people were so cavalier about giving up private ballots --when you have to sign your name so they can verify against the DL signature along with your home address and what have you, it AINT a private ballot, the commies just have not YET started using how you voted to bully you, but in Colorado they store those ballots in a warehouse in case of candidates demanding recounts, ergo they can back and look at how I or anyone else who participated voted for at least an election or 2 back.

We are self-managed. The Manager is a homeowner with a background and credentials in community property management. She has turned a solo part-time job into a full-time job with 2 part-time staff, having convinced the Trustees over past years to just let her handle everything, because credentials.

She still cannot schedule the Annual Meeting for the correct day (a week early) nor properly report the election results according to the Bylaws.

The HOA's attorney has been fighting and losing an eviction case for 4 years now, being out played by the other side at every turn. Same attorney chaired the past two Annual Meetings at the suggestion of the Property Manager and said attorney could not follow Robert's Rules for calling a vote, announcing results, and moving on to next business.
Yes, the idea of self managed is what got me on the Board, what could be. The reality of the ego-driven cretins who infest HOA boards is what caused me to flounce out.
