Virginia's Blackface Governor Declares a Fake "Emergency" to Preemptively Disarm Gun-Carriers; Author of Bill Protecting That Right Says The Bill Specifically Forbids Declaring an Emergency to Disarm Citizens

Virginia's Governor Mammy issued this illegal order:

Governor Ralph Northam today declared a state of emergency in advance of expected demonstrations on Capitol Square on Monday, January 20, 2020. Law enforcement intelligence analysts have identified credible threats of violence surrounding the event, along with white nationalist rhetoric and plans by out-of-state militia groups to attend.

The Governor’s declaration prohibits all weapons, including firearms, from Capitol grounds, and will provide joint law enforcement and public safety agencies the resources they need to keep demonstrators, policymakers, and all Virginians safe.

Commenters quickly called foul:

188 163 32 Virginia Governor Blackface Northam has just issued an executive order declaring a state of emergency because some "white nationalists" (i.e., pro-gun groups) are planning a rally at the state capital this week.

Lunatic.

-------

It is going to be Charlottesville 2.0

The State Cops will purposefully push the Pro-2A protesters and the Antifa Counterprotesters together to start a riot.

The Northam Democrat allies will have people in the 2A crowd purposefully starting violence and even yelling Racist Crap to make the 2A people look like bad.

Stay far away.

The sponsor of the law that Governor Johlson is violating says not so fast:

Which says, in pertinent part:

A BILL to amend and reenact § 44-146.15 of the Code of Virginia, relating to emergency services and disasters; constitutional rights.

...

Nothing in this chapter is to be construed to:

...

(3) Empower the Governor, any political subdivision, or any other governmental authority to in any way limit or prohibit the rights of the people to keep and bear arms as guaranteed by Article I, Section 13 of the Constitution of Virginia or the Second Amendment of the Constitution of the United States, including the otherwise lawful possession, carrying, transportation, sale, or transfer of firearms except to the extent necessary to ensure public safety in any place or facility designated or used by the Governor, any political subdivision of the Commonwealth, or any other governmental entity as an emergency shelter or for the purpose of sheltering persons;

So the law has been specifically amended to specifically deny the governor any power under the emergency powers law to limit people's right to lawfully carry guns.

I am curious about what appears to be a huge exception: "except to the extent necessary to ensure public safety in any place or facility designated or used by the Governor."

I think that just means a place literally used by the governor for sheltering people in an emergency, not "any place the governor designates," but I don't know for certain.

Or at least the law's "patron" says so.

Meanwhile, West Virginia invites Virginia gun sanctuary jurisdictions to secede from Virginia and join West Virginia.

West Virginia Delegates use the resolution to pledge that the gun rights now under assault by Virginia Democrats will be protected for those counties that choose to become part of the state of West Virginia:

HCR 8 states:

Whereas, Article VI, Section 11 of The Constitution of the State of West Virginia explicitly permits additional territory to be admitted into, and become part of this state, with the consent of the Legislature and of a majority of the qualified voters of the state; and

Whereas, In a spirit of conciliation, the Legislature of West Virginia hereby extends an invitation to our fellow Virginians who wish to do so, to join us in our noble experiment of 156 years of separation from the government at Richmond; and, we extend an invitation to any constituent county or city of the Commonwealth of Virginia to be admitted to the body politic of the State of West Virginia, under the conditions set forth in our state Constitution, specifically, with the consent of a majority of the voters of such county or city voting upon such proposition; and we hereby covenant that their many grievances shall be addressed, and, we further covenant with them that their firearms rights shall be protected to the fullest extent possible under our Federal and State Constitution.

This is the future. The United States will have to be dramatically reconfigured into multiple states. The left has engineered things so that we are becoming a sectarian state on the verge of civil violence; it's time to part ways with them, and let them seek their own communist bliss.

Let them enslave each other, but let us keep ourselves free.

90 53 Terms rejected. If Trump wants me to support a primary opponent, let the words "partition" pass his lips. Literally no good can come of letting the left take the most developed and rich areas."

If there's not going to be a partition, then there's gonna have to be a whole lot of killin'. Not that I'm against that, but I doubt whether many on our side are really up to coming up with execution lists for our local neighborhoods, and then carrying them out. Cuz that'll have to happen - first against the wall when the Revolution starts, and all that.

And for places like San Fran and Portland, we're just going to have to figure out how to truck a few nukes into the city centers. Nuclear attacks won't hurt us much, mind you - our enemies are concentrated in the cities, while we're dispersed. But I do worry about how chippy China will get if that gets started.

Yeah, that's it. We'll just call it "disruptive." That way, the Left (who invented the notion) can't give us any grief since it was their idea in the first place.

The problem is, that will leave us with a Pakistan 1.0 scenario:

In 1947, the Muslims wanted to secede from the newly independent majority-Hindu India. Problem is, the Muslims were clustered in two different areas -- the far northwest and the far northeast -- 3000 miles apart. But they went ahead and did it anyway, and created a nation called "Pakistan" that had two disconnected halves 3000 miles away from each other. Not long before the weaker of the two halves, in the far northeast, wanted more say-so and independent governance from the main bosses in the west, so they were granted the title "East Pakistan" and given a little more federal-style self-governance.

But ultimately it wasn't enough, and East Pakistan declared indepence from regular Pakistan, and we ended up with the 1971 Pakistani Civil War, which AFTER MILLIONS OF GRUESOME DEATHS led to the creation of Bangladesh, the new name for the independent East Pakistan.

This exact same scenario will play out when Liberal America secedes, and created a bi-lobed nation with an enclave in the northeast, and a separate enclave 3000 miles away on the West Coast.

No way a nation can survive with this geographic configuration. They will fight amongst themselves and split apart pretty soon after seceding.

What will the names of the two new nations be?

Well, they already named the West Coast nation as "Ecotopia" way back in the late '60s when it was first proposed. The East Coast will try to keep the old-style US name, but commified; I bet something along the lines of "The People's Republic of North America" or something similar.

Hopefully, we can help them along to make their civil war even bloodier than usual. And I guess I'll have to evacuate.

But there are some super blue areas that absolutely need to be contained before we're all declared terminal. Maybe they'll run to Canada or Britain, maybe they'll need to be dealt with at home. I guess it would be a case by case thing and maybe the differences are more pronounced to those of us who live in the northeast or similar mixed areas but once you get by tradition I wonder who disruptive it really would be. It would take some time to get used to but it makes a lot of sense.

Western Massachusetts is much more like it's immediate neighbor counties in Vermont, New Hampshire and upstate New York not including the Albany area. Our cities up here are liberal and dense and they overwhelmingly Democrat. And because they also outnumber us they get their way just like what's happening in Virginia.

148 106 Yes sir. Story was, the western parts of Virginia were completely unsuited for plantation agriculture so they didn't depend on a slave economy like the downstate planters in Richmond and areas toward the coast did. Tobacco plantations don't work in western Virginia/WV mountains. So when Virginia seceded, the counties that eventually became West Virginia were largely like, "uh, no, hey, Abe, can we tell these idjits to screw off and come back?" In addition to fighting in WV (parts of Jackson's 1862 Valley Campaign and the 1864 campaigns by Hunter and Sheridan) there was some very nasty guerilla warfare all up and down the southern Appalachians between Maryland and northeast Georgia, often between neighbors. Mountain communities fought amongst themselves and it, as we say in the foothills of Amherst County, VA where I come from, "weren't purty."

This would have been ordered more than just a few days ago. Perhaps a week or 2 ago, maybe more. This emergency order was obviously planned for a while.
Why didn't they rent fencing like construction companies do? Probably because there wasn't that much available to meet their needs. Either that or they have a permanent use for it.
I visited again today and the fencing is still on large pallets. I will go by again tomorrow.

If lived in VA, I'd probably bite the bullet and attend. We have the right to peaceful assembly. If government forces or those in league with the left make peaceful assembly impossible, then, the tune has been called and the dance will have started.

I expect violence and I expect the gloves will come off, officially, on Monday.

*shrugs* It's either stand there and take it or come out fighting, which will be exactly what the Left is after since any violence at this stage plays into their hands.

We can't pretend to know how all of this would play out should it come to an outright shooting war. The best policy (in my view) is to keep the peace until we can't. Some of you think it'll be a cakewalk. That's what many thought in 1860, too. Instead, it was a cataclysmic bloodbath. Let's not let it come to that if we can help it.

292 I *HOPE* that this 2nd amendment scare wakes up enough red voters to do something in next election to take power away from veto proof Dem majority, but it could very well be the case that the math doesn't add up. N. Virginia Dems may have VA by the balz

Sorry, you lose. The same effing blackface infanticidal governor tried to ram through gun control in the waning days of the previous General Assembly, unsuccessful only because there was a slim Republican majority there. Yet very few voters (especially in NoVA) connected the dots, and the feckless losers in the VA GOP did not hammer home either the gun control dangers or the infanticidal propensities of Gov Gosnell-Northam

293 Too many above me to credit all. But I agree the WV move is great. How did we get WV in the first place?
If half of the western counties went to WV the map would make a lot more sense. If done before the census even better.
This could be the answer for other oppressed people as well

296 If people cave and don't show up armed, then Northam has basically won the engagement by demonstrating he has the power to dictate what people can do. Especially given the apparent blatant illegality of the order.

A big reason people who have real jobs and otherwise don't protest are showing up is to make the point that they're ruled by consent - political power does come out of the barrel of a gun, and they outnumber their would-be masters.

If they still show up, there is fuckall the governor can do about it short of kicking the whole thing off. You can't arrest a dozen uncooperative armed men, let alone a few thousand. That's the entire point of arms being a right.

299 Since the RKBA is enshrined in bothe the US and Virginia constitutions, the sanctuary counties should declare the state government to be in rebellion. Flip the booger over to them.

And perhaps use that as justification for joining West Virginia.

300 Northam has early onset dementia. If Bandy Lee can diagnose from afar,so can we.That's why he's not a doctor anymore. On Monday the 13th,people showed up to talk to their representatives, signed on the lists, and were pushed out of the way so that people with red and blue lapel pins could talk to the representatives first.A certain bank with 'America' in their name uses these colors. After the visit, the representatives disappeared or were otherwise unavailable to their constituents. Is that large bank's executives acting as bagmen for the Hungarian collaborator billionaire and/or the diminutive ex mayor billionaire? It makes you wonder.I took my money out of their bank and put it elsewhere.
