AmGreatness: Australia Was Set On Fire by Environmentalists Who Prevented Prudent Land Management, Not By "Global Warming"

They're both the arsonists setting the fires, and the Fire Experts claiming they have a plan to stop all the fires.

"These greenies and the government don't want to burn s-- off. We're going to lose all our houses and properties because of you useless pieces of garbage will not burn off when its supposed to, through the winter time like we used to do years ago out in the farms up in the mountains; burn all the undergrowth off so everything was safe. But you p—---, you want to have a really good look at this, look at the state you've caused here. You are the biggest bunch of useless loser pieces of garbage God ever had the misfortune to blow life into."

– Australian resident of New South Wales, January 7, 2020

Environmentalist regulations are the reason for this year’s devastating wildfires in Australia. These misguided measures prevented landowners from burning off dry brush. For decades, every year during the Australian winter, across the continent, brushfires were deliberately set to safely burn the undergrowth. Even in pre-colonial times, the aborigines set brushfires to prevent tinder from accumulating.

If you want to watch an authentic, eyewitness account of what really happened—quoted above---yo'’ll find it 2:56 minutes into "The Truth About the Australian Bushfires," a January 7 video by the inimitable Paul Joseph Watson. (But watch out. Most of the profanity is edited out of the above transcription.)

Profanity is appropriate, however, given the frustration that levelheaded people must feel when they confront the fanatics who want to micromanage every aspect of our lives in the name of fighting climate change, and the corporate opportunists who stand behind them. In most cases, the political agenda pursued in the name of fighting climate change is an expensive nuisance. But this time, down under, it quite literally has flared into a devastating inferno.

The video referenced is below.

38 This is why I say I'm a conservationist. I like clean water. I like clean air. I even, shh, don't tell anyone, like Outside being kept in a nice condition.

Conservation does that. Don't litter. Reuse what you can. Don't dump waste into rivers. Use the most reasonable form of energy for your area. Care for your environment, yes, including doing as controlled as you can burns and culling wild life as needed.

All this climate change hysteria infuriates me because basic, boring conservation gets pushed aside.

If you want to help with CO2 emissions, I mean truly help, then plant trees. But that's boring and doesn't allow micromanaging control.

Fun trivia fact: Although we strongly suspect that most ancient priests who studied the skies were able to predict this kind of thing, we can't be sure. See also: California. Wrong-headed land management causes risks to build. Those risks accumulate until something breaks.

Add in to that eco-terrorists who want to make a point about something about which they're wrong or even just simple pyromaniacs who like to watch it burn and everything collapses with astonishing speed.

Land management is so very important. The American Indians got it. Our government used to get it. Many state governments still do. Active wildland management is not some sin against Mother Gaia. It is essential to our survival.

155 I mentioned on the book thread a few months ago about this book "The Overstory" by Richard Powers, a formerly good writer who lost his shit over global climate nonsense. Anyway his latest book was about the type of irresponsible bullshit here about never clearing away underbrush and creating hazardous situations because trees know best and we eeeevil humans are just fucking things up with responsible management, an oddly pre Galilean concept. So dipshits like him have definitely contributed to the Australian and California unnecessary disasters.

I'm thinking about 12 noon on Friday the 24th, as we fly back to Dallas on the 25th. Honestly, Rick was never one for a lot of fuss or formality, nor was he very religious. So, here's my thoughts on what I'm planning to do....

A quiet service in our backyard. Although they are predicting 3 to 5 inches of snow, I'm hoping it's like Texas, where they can't predict the weather hours in advance, never mind a week in advance. We will share some memories of Rick, have some food, and since he enjoyed a good beer, have a toast with either a Philly classic, Yuengling beer, or a good hot cup of Black Rifle coffee. (We also found a stockpile of Black Rifle coffee, so I think that this toast would incorporate 2 of his favorite beverages!)
Afterwards, we will spread his ashes.

Please let me know how many people you think would come, as we are having his house cleaned out with a company on Tuesday or Wednesday, but I could rent a few chairs, or consider having lunch at a local restaurant (Richie's) after the memorial.

CS Lewis.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience. They may be more likely to go to Heaven yet at the same time likelier to make a Hell of earth. This very kindness stings with intolerable insult. To be "cured" against one's will and cured of states which we may not regard as disease is to be put on a level of those who have not yet reached the age of reason or those who never will; to be classed with infants, imbeciles, and domestic animals.

204 According to the Wikipedia entry "Bushfires in Australia", over 46 million acres have been burnt this season. Undoubtedly a lot of real estate that's burned.

If you look at the 2002 Northern Territory bushfires, you get 94 million acres burnt. No global warming hysteria back then, though.

Going back further, you can see that the 1969 bushfires destroyed 99 million acres.

You want to see the granddaddy of all bushfires? Go to 1974-1975. You'll see that 290 million (!!) acres burned.

It's incredible to me that not one news report mentions anything about the history of bushfires in Australia. This is nothing new, even though this season is much worse than usual.

228 My parents did a big trip around Europe about 20 years ago. To this day, the thing that Mommy found most amazing was taking the train through Germany and learning about German forest management. She found it fascinating and sensible and every time California burns she asks why we don't do that out there and I have to try to explain that the environmentalists won't let anyone do that and she looks at me like I'm crazy.

You want to really blow a greenie's mind?

Tell them the reason Germany has such excellent forest management is because of Herman Goering, in his capacity as Reich Marshal of the Hunt. Modern Deutschland is following in his jackboots.

265 Goodbye Bunyip Bluegum, goodbye Blinky Bill
And beautiful little Nutsie, I can't believe it
Our koalas are all dying, can it really be
A national disaster, a world catastrophe

Shiny little black nose and fluffy little ears
Furry little bundle soaking up the tears
Snuggle pot and Cuddle pie are crying in the rain
And wombat's gone into his hole and won't come out

Oh pass the hat around between your friends
There's no time to contemplate
Maybe if we show some love
Maybe it's not too late

'Cause Blinky Bill is dying, cross him off the list
Knock on doors, ring the bell, save the eucalyptus
I don't think I could stand the shame, knowing that I could
Have saved the world from losing something beautiful and good

One doctor on the job is hardly enough
One little hospital, wake up Australia
It's our corner of the world, time to pull our weight
What would we tell our children about our little mate

-- For millennia we burned down the forests every year, as a way to prevent later catastrophic fires, and to promote healthy growth. Then the white men came and told us we couldn't burn the forests like we used to. This fire season is the result, you idiots.

-- Anyway, what the fuck are you all freaking out over? This level of fires was actually about normal every couple years, before you fools showed up. What we're seeing this year is GOOD and HEALTHY for the environment. The only reason you're freaking out is that you stupidly build your houses where they could get burned, which of course happened.

But the Noble Savages are only worth listening to when their message helps the Marxist agenda. When it contradicts the Marxist agenda, then those primitives need to sit down and shut up!

368 You can also tell them that the aborigines in Australia were practicing bush management for thousands of years before environmentalists came along to save them and helped burn down the country.

---------------

As I understand it, the Aborigines did not manage anything. They set fire to some trees and then speared the fleeing animals. When they ran out of food they repeated the process further along.

It is possible that by that method of hunting other trees were made extinct and only eucalyptus remained as it had the ability to regenerate after fires. And so you now have a continent that was bred to burn.

401 341 Amazingb how just Australia is under a global warming catastrophe
Posted by: Skip

What they aren't telling you is that the Indian Ocean has its version of the El Nino/La Nina cycle, but over there it's called "The Dipole." Half the time, Australian on one side fo the Indian Ocean is cool and wet while simultaneously over in Eastern Africa (on the other side of the Indian Ocean) it's blisteringly hot. Then the cycle flips and it's hot and dry in Australian while it's wet and cool in Eastern Africa.

So yeah, Australia is currently hot and dry. But thousands of miles away in parts of Africa, it's commensurately cool and wet, so overall, globally, it balances out.

But the media and the Left don't want you to notice that. They only ever point out the current hotspots, and ignore the current cool spots. Always.

Here's a link explaining it:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indian_Ocean_Dipole

"The Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD), also known as the Indian Niño, is an irregular oscillation of sea surface temperatures in which the western Indian Ocean becomes alternately warmer (positive phase) and then colder (negative phase) than the eastern part of the ocean.
...
A positive IOD is linked to higher than average rainfall during the East African Short Rains (EASR) between October and December...."

441 I live in the blue mountains near Sydney NSW and while state and local environmental regulations have curtailed a lot of the backburning that used to be done in the area especially in the world heritage listed Blue Mountains National Park, the real damage was done when the state government shut down access to the state forests in the area for selective logging and cattle grazing. This contributed massively to the amount of ground fuel that built up over the last decade and when combined with severe drought conditions which occur in Australia every 10 - 15 years created the catastrophic situation that we have now.
