UK, France, and Germany Begin Process of Holding Iran Accountable for Restarting Its Nuke Program; May "Snapback" Previous Sanctions to Full

If the former sanctions are "snapped back," Iran would face an even more strangulating embargo.

It would also mean the end of Obama's Corrupt Collusion with Iran.

France, Britain and Germany formally triggered the dispute mechanism in Iran’s nuclear deal on Tuesday, the strongest step the Europeans have taken so far to enforce an agreement that requires Iran to curb its nuclear programme.

Boris Johnson says that if the old Obama deal is finished, then it's time to get on board with "the Trump deal."

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said in an interview Tuesday that he welcomed replacing the Obama-era Iran nuclear deal with a new agreement negotiated by President Trump.

"If we're going to get rid of it, let's replace it and let's replace it with the Trump deal," Johnson told BBC, referencing the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) nuclear deal between Iran and world powers.

I'm not sure the current Iranian regime will even be around in a year.

By the way: Iran is making impotent threats about snapback sanctions.

RUMORS THAT #IRAN WILL SHUT DOWN STRAIT OF HORMUZ IF SNAPBACK SANCTIONS ARE ENFORCED UNDER JCPOA.
-AP

Well, you can try.

And speaking of access to the sea -- how long do you think your main seaport, Kharg Island, would remain unbombed if you tried that?

How are you going to get your oil out -- or your gasoline in? (Iran doesn't have the capability of producing its own gasoline from oil. They silly savages have to import it.)

Fun fun fun.

Speaking as a citizen of the largest oil producing country in the world: I could give an eff if you did shut down the Strait of Hormuz. Gasoline would go up a nickel per gallon. For a month. Not something that's going to crash our economy.

But what is Iran going to do without Kharg Island?

Below, more protests -- and Iran is responding in its usual way, slaughtering people.

This is pretty good:

After 2020 - assuming the GOP wins the House - it would be nice if Trump actually got a DoW on one shit-hole or another.

Because Dems won't be able to resist siding with said shit-hole. And that, dear reader, really would be treason.

For the same reason you arm a soldier in a war. And, these days (unlike then), Iran is on the other side. That's why we don't want them to have nukes.

We would never nuke our own soldiers just to kill the enemy.

Iran wouldn't hesitate.

185 Ah, this explains is:
Prior to his election to Congress, Brian followed in his father's
footsteps by serving in the U.S. Army for more than 12 years, earning
medals including The Bronze Star Medal, The Army Commendation Medal for
Valor, The Purple Heart Medal, and The Defense Meritorious Service
Medal. While deployed in Afghanistan, he worked as a bomb disposal
expert under the elite Joint Special Operations Command. The last
improvised explosive device that he found resulted in catastrophic
injuries, which included the loss of both of his legs. . .
Brian remained on active duty following the injuries and provided
expertise to the National Nuclear Security Administration and the Bureau
of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms during his recovery process. After
his retirement from the Army, he continued working in counter-terrorism
and national defense as an Explosive Specialist with the Department of
Homeland Security. Brian subsequently received a degree from Harvard
University and volunteered to serve alongside the Israel Defense Forces
to show support for the freedom Israel represents throughout the Middle
East and the world.

405 378, rhennigantx, you would be correct but easier still is an improvised shotgun as it is much lower pressure than a typical 9mm and thus easier not to be maimed at the other end.

Occasionally, the police in less free areas of the world have displays of people's ingenuity in constructing off the books firearms. The images and reports make it pretty easy to do if one was so inclined. As long as you don't mess around with stuff that has the ATF excited , cough full auto, you can legally make and retain such hardware store firearms if your state laws allow it.

Some machinists have made beautiful firearms from scratch using billets.

418 417 378, rhennigantx, you would be correct but easier still is an improvised shotgun as it is much lower pressure than a typical 9mm and thus easier not to be maimed at the other end.

And, much (about half, apparently) of the oil Saudi Arabia exports goes through the Red Sea with pipelines going directly to the ports there. Then it is shipped up the Suez Canal and into the Mediterranean.

Generally speaking for garage firearms, metal is preferable to polymer as sheet metal is everywhere as is steel tubing and pipes. Polymer requires molds etc. and proper supply of the right stuff absent 80 percent type already made or the kits for making your own. Requires a certain level of skill for design and molding.

Folding steel simply requires a hammer, form, rivets, and a bit of welding and cutting tools. Easy peasy. Magazines are a bit tougher than single shots as the tolerance for reliable use are a bit more difficult.

It's just so laughably false, that Trump (and his supporters) don't want to get into another war, but they're so convinced that they know how things work that they're bending over backwards to support Iran to try to prevent a war from happening.

California and New England still import foreign oil. They have to. California doesn't allow pipelines, and it's cheaper to import it than truck it from terminals. Same for New England - they're blocked by NY not permitting pipelines to traverse and so it gets shipped in.

We don't need to important oil on a supply basis, but some regions and states do import because domestic supply can't reach them (usually for political reasons).

The barrel is the hard part.
But there are some videos out there on how to drill and rifle your very own rifled barrel. From using a single tooth of a hacksaw and a lot of time to use of galvanic action (lack of better term) to cut rifling overnight.

496 478, Jean, simply buy Sten magazines as they are pretty common in that case. Haven't studied the Mac10 mags but they are also pretty available.

Polymer mags would not be my choice for semi-auto or other legal makes (closed bolt required for making one here by ATF--otherwise possessing an open bolt firearm is a crime) due to heat in the chamber from the design. Full auto open bolts dissipate the heat better which is why the ATF banned it as something readily convertible to full auto (unless you have a licensed receiver of course).

553 516, While one can go old school and do cut rifling, it is pretty difficult to maintain a long rifle barrel for any sort of accuracy and safety without practice and knowledge.

Making a rifle barrel is pretty involved and requires quite a bit of knowledge of metallurgy and mechanics to work effectively. You want to do it, pick up Lock, Stock, and Barrel book that explains how rifled black powder muskets were made step by step so you can do it yourself.

A short length rifled pistol barrel is easier for the average person to make as long distance accuracy is generally not as needed and picking the right cartridge may have pretty low pressure containment requirements such as the .45 ACP, .38 SPC, etc.

If having an off books firearm is so important, go black powder or antiques pre-1898 as neither require going through an FFL in most states. Improperly constructed, a homemade firearm is simply a large pipe bomb that is equally probable of maiming at either end.

Even most machinists, generally design and make single shots followed by bolt actions rather than semi-auto. Full autos are illegal without proper licensing and the definition is rather broad. Thus, fine line between a malfunctioning semi-auto and full-auto except you cannot blame the manufacturer for the defect if you made the firearm.

I think it's time for a government-sponsored contest.

Contest terms:
* Design a safe new nuclear power plant using abundant fuel (such as thorium or the other salts) with minimal exotic fuel
* New power plant must be a breeder that help create new fuel.
* New power plant must accommodate goal gassification, preferably using process heat
* New power plant should not be easily useful for dual-purpose atomic pursuits (e.g., great at power, miserable and weapons enrichment).

The first organization to bring 5+ MW online wins a $25 billion prize.
The second organization to do so wins a $15 billion prize.
The third organization to do so wins a $10 billion prize.

In exchange for this, the plans, schematics, as-builts, etc. - everything needed to build a power plant - becomes public domain.

Then we build. Let the rest of the world build, too.

Listen to the main battle theme from Gladiator (Zimmer) some time, its basically the Mars section redesigned. Except, that was on purpose because you know, war, Romans.

575 563 546 A little while ago, I was listening to Wagner and I actually thought I could hear some of Williams' inspiration for the Star Wars score, so insofar as the article is saying something beyond batshit virtue signalling, there's probably some truth there.

It's worse than that. Their central claim is that Williams uses "heroic European archetypes" for the hero characters and Asian-style compositions for the bad guys. I didn't know the Imperial March was Asian sounding.

My favorite John Williams anecdote (that I haven't bothered to validate if it's true or not), was that I heard when Spielberg was working on Schindler's List, he went to Williams to score it and Williams came back to him and said "I can't do this movie. You need to find a better composer." And Spielberg responded "I tried to find a better one, but they're all dead."

Absolutely, great composers are influenced by other composers, and sometimes "borrow" from them.

It's highly amusing to ask one of them what they think of bison. You know, the ones that the Evil Patriarchy wiped out? That should be good for a ten minute rant about Destroying Nature.

Then you point out that the land formerly inhabited by bison is now used to graze beef cattle, a species so closely related to bison that they can actually interbreed.

Then watch them struggle to explain why cows bad, bison good.
