Anyone with any common sense knows that it's impossible for mankind to alter the atmosphere of Earth. These people probably still think the world is flat despite that having been figured out over two millennia ago.

This is 2019. In the mind of many, not least our media industrial complex, power is derived from intersectionality, and this little troll hits enough of the columns, while scolding self-flagellating adults who don't even have enough integrity to put their words into practice by ridding the planet of their presence.

Look at it this way:

Hogg could have lucked his way into a real school, taking the place of some kid who might actually do something useful.

Instead, he's at Harvard, which is a useless cesspool that stopped creating anything of note years and years ago.

In other words: He's right where he belongs.

Use some Marxist class analysis here - it's not that "experts" are "wrong", it's that they propose things that are in their class interests.

The Green New Deal is a great example - it benefits gentry liberals who are wealthy enough to live in trendy inner-city neighborhoods, and sets up lots of graft opportunities for the politically-well connected, while screwing everyone else.

Another example is the Obama Economy, which mysteriously benefited liberal professionals and other wealthy people living in blue cities, with little benefit to others.

No. That is good. Marx wasn't a total idiot. Or even thoroughly an idealogue (although he *was* that), his analysis of market forces in reducing values down to the numeric value of a dollar and how that would push people to see the number of dollars as an arbitrary measure has been historically prescient.

Because Marx didn't believe there was any outside moral force of God, just Man in a God mask. Even if you're an intellectual, it's what you *don't* factor in that can take you into deep waters.

383 Isn't Portland run by teenagers? Could sworn that was the case.

Just wait - the current mayor is reasonable (by Portland standards), but a militantly pro-Antifa, anti-cop loon who hates cars is running, and she may well win. (Portland's taxpayers are funding 85% of the loon's campaign, under a new law.) If she does, the cop-haters will have a majority of the city council.

It's an interesting consequence of Trump - a sizable fraction of the electorate in blue cities is now so deranged that they will vote for the most insane left-wing local candidates possible, like Chesa Boudin, the new DA in San Francisco.

This is the problem with "progressives". They see the signs of a new development and try to get out ahead of it and fix it into a form that makes them *feel* they are on the side of progress.

The problem is that unlike Science that they worship, they can't take the feedback and adjust because they have to repudiate what seems like reactionism to them. (Which is what *makes* them feel "progressive".)

So when history rejoins them, they bull through it. They end up detached from reality. Because they fixed the image of "progression".

This is one thing that caused the European left to consider that an *evolved* form of Marxism called Fascism, that was retooled to be effective and possible (and the only form of Marxism the Earth has ever seen), they classified it as "right". When the "right" in Europe is royalist sympathetics and not revolutionary restructuring states.

Gentile and Mussolini engineered a Marxism that *could work* after they became dismayed that it was impractical. That you can't impose the remaining power of States with no state.

I like Eno and I like Bauhaus and I like "Third Uncle." But Bauhaus's cover made me want to shove red-hot pokers in my ears.

Cool Eno story: I was recently passing through the airport in Buffalo and "Music for Airports" was playing over the PA.

That's one of my all-time favorite albums and I've heard it countless times, but never once in its intended setting. That was a first, and a supremely cool thing to stop and experience. Well done, Buffalo airport!

466 I can not over emphasis what this Tory/Conservative victory means to Trump and the US...first, all the British Press' attempt to negatively tie the Tories to Trump and Brexit was obliterated...Second, Labour sought to discredit the Brixit vote as anti-Euro and "deplorable" and loss...third, this vote puts voice to the desire to end the Euro globalist grasp on "real" western society - ie the US and Great Britain are supreme as was always the case, now the British have said so, so suck it Corbyn - central control of Western Culture is over.

That brings to mind an old movie scene with Marlon Brando, I believe it's from The Missouri Breaks, where he's at a funeral in the 1800s and he walks up to the corpse before the ceremony while talking to another character and absently picks up a piece of ice from the packing around the coffin and pops it into his mouth.

That's the way I remember it, but it's been awhile...

485 The "progressives" in America got this super-smart plan that they would introduce the intellectual power of Hegel's system into America. If America was always referring to the Constitution, the Constitution would only ever be Thesis and the country would refuse to learn by Antithesis (per Hegel's Evolution of Spirit) and Synthesis, so America just be blocked from the Constitutionalist or originalist strictures.

However, Marxist secularism devolved to Naziism, and people of the world came face-to-face with what is still recognized to day as the genuine Evil out of Man. Karl Barth immediately reacted to the theological "Higher Criticism" tradition he was brought up in--and sought to advocate for a more immediate--if not exactly *fundamental* take on Christian faith.

The progressives only saw the reaction of the "Back to Church" movement of the 50s and recidivism. The proponents of Hegel (because Hegel was "intellectual" and they were the experts on that) couldn't see antithesis when it happened to them.

That's the left, they have been doubling down ever since and red-facedly insisting that theirs is the way to enlightened progress.

Which is why the libs are against it now. I actually expect the Dems at some point to use that "point" when they get tired of people pointing to Ted Kennedy trying to enlist the USSR against Reagan.

They've already used the Carter Page and Papadopoulos were being investigated BEFORE Trump card.

Like that did their narrative of events **ANY** good.

It actually does them less good. If *Trump* was the one colluding with the Russians and they were alarmed about two other people in different campaigns--how did this become *significant* of Trump?!

The no-logic party does it again. They screw up their own narrative because they don't know what a consistent argument IS. Because the media will sell anything they submit, until it can't. And their loyalists will take knees and run out the clock on any questions they get from Fox.

627 President Trump recognizes that pushing Turkey into the arms of Russia, and Russia into the arms of China, would be terrible mistakes. The two greatest conceivable strategic threats to the United States are Russia aligning with China, so that tens of millions of Chinese move to Siberia and tap its resources as a concession power, paying Russia a royalty and rivaling North America as a resources treasure-house; and Turkey joining with Iran to impinge upon Israel and the Arabs, especially Saudi Arabia and Egypt.

635 > Does anyone else find it kind of sad that the great warring tribes of europe now seem to be relegated to nanny state whiners?

Virtually all the European men with measurable testosterone levels left for the various colonies long, long ago. The remainder were slaughtered in WWI and WWII.

636 > Brains...check

Well, I saw a lot of people CLAIM that Ryan was smart, but don't recall ever seeing any actual evidence to that effect. Quite the contrary.

637 About Ms. Greta Thunberg's weight...

My guess is they have the child on Adderall or amphetamine salts to prevent the over anxieties that come with the chromosomal abnormalities that have led to the condition she exhibits. That's pretty common, and actually has some pretty common side effects like weight loss and depression. It can also inhibit growth...giving rise to her child like stature.

Her eyes bat about when she speaks, a common trait in a number of chromosomal abnormalities including a deletion of the 11th or 12th chromosomial post axial genes...these visual elements of chromosome mutations are well known - it almost impossible that her parents aren't aware of her Fisch Array results in this regard.

640 Thanks for that graphic, ace. I think some crime is happening right before our eyes there, taking liberties with a retard or something. As for Coke, no variety of cocola (or any soft drink really) is worth me buying it. Except Dr Pepper or maybe Barqs Root Beer, both of which can be had at Whataburger. We order one big burger meal with a large drank, share it, and snag a refill on the way out the door. Take that refill home and add some Captain Morgan. Would say Kraken, but that's for sipping straight from a chilled glass. Today was not very good for deerhunting. Tired and worn out we is.

Zod would barter (dons colander-mask) 15 gallons of gasoline for Gretchen Carlson's mouth.

GC is attractive to look at, sure. But she strikes me as the kind of prig who thinks oral sex is disgusting and anything other than the missionary position is scandalously kinky.

642 9 I still think she looks like the Bad Seed.

(I might have just revealed that I'm no longer 29...)
