Exit Polls: UK Conservatives Absolutely Crush Labour, Projected to Win an Outright Majority of House Seats

It's now being reported that exit polls say that the Conservatives will win 368 seats. The House of Parliament has 650 seats, so my math says that 325+1 is enough for a majority.

Exit polls, more like BREXIT POLLS, am I right?

Although there are still Conservative defectors/traitors who join Labor and the Lib Dems as Remainers, if the Tories really have that many votes, they can afford to lose some.

Note that usually a majority coalition must be formed, striking agreements with minor-party candidates to cobble together a coalition of 326.

But the polls suggest that not only will the Conservatives have a majority -- a rarity in the UK -- but a "huge" majority.

Boris Johnson is on course to secure a huge Tory majority in the Commons, according to the exit poll.

The joint Sky/BBC/ITV poll gives the Tories 368 seats with Labour on 191, the SNP on 55 and LibDems 13. The Tory majority is projected to be 86.

Followers of the disgracefully antisemitic and pro-terrorist (actually pro-terrorist) Labour leader and socialist Jeremy Corbyn have butthurt and assmad:

"I expected something but I didn't expect it that bad," was another.

One young man said: "Corbyn's got to go if the results are that bad."

Sargon of Akkad, joined by Mauler, is live vlogging the results.

They just said that a Labour idiot claimed "We won the argument, if not the vote."

Are you sure about that.

Also, a bit of caution: 65 races are considered too close to call. Obviously, that is a lot of seats that could go either way.

Note: In the graph below, Nigel Farage's Brexit Party stood down in any areas in which a seat might be lost due to his party getting votes. That is, he was all-in for Brexit and not his party, and so didn't campaign anywhere were he might play spoiler to a Brexit win.

That's why he's at zero, I imagine.

Usually we'd say "don't get too cocky" but because this is the UK, and honestly, who cares anymore?, I'm going to give out the rare advisory that you should get too cocky, and may even start s***ing each other's d***s if you feel like it.

(Sorry to step on the last thread, which is important, but this is breaking. I've held off for 30 minutes already.)

The best part of any election is watching the press go into depression.

Hey, don't cut on yourselves too deeply, guys.

Or do. Whatever you want.

43 From Washington Post (I know....):

"The Conservatives are expected to win 368 seat, according to the national exit poll. The party needs 322 seats to control Parliament - and push through Johnson's Brexit plan.

If the exit poll results hold when actual ballots are tallied, Johnson and his Conservative Party will have achieved a smashing success - the largest win for the Tories since the days of Margaret Thatcher - while the opposition Labour Party and its leader Jeremy Corbyn will have suffered their worst defeat in four decades.

Dreams of a second referendum - of remaining in the European Union - will be dashed."

Farage is a bombastic showman, but he is also a driven man with total devotion to getting his particular job done.

His particular job is divorcing the EU. When he was an MEP, his colleagues often laughed at him and noted, "If you get your way, you'll be out of a job."

He would reply, "that is exactly what I'm after." (in some form).

He saw that running against the imperfect Tories - who share few of the late UKIP's goals - was counter to his mission of divorcing the EU.

So his party stayed formed and technically ran in areas he couldn't win so he could go do his bombastic showmanship, making the case for Brexit at any cost and let the Tories stand up as the national party that would get Brexit done.

He sold Brexit, and the Tories sold themselves as the ones who would do Brexit.

It wouldn't be exactly the same here because we only two ossified old shitheel parties, but your point remains.

GOP take note, indeed.

GB will have a highly favorable Brexit agreement in about a week from the EU. They can decide then to sign it our tell Europe to fuck off. No lose for Trump. Trudeau will go along because...Canada. And I don't think Mexico will give a shit.

Seriously - it would be a master stroke. No one would complain. GB would love Trump. Trump would have a strong ally against the EU. And the EU has spent the past three years trying to get Paris and Frankfurt ready to take on Eurozone financial clearing so they can ice out the City of London, but from what I have read it isn't going swimmingly.

Britain is a YUGE market for the EU - cars, financial clearing, British holidaymakers in France, Spain, Germany and Greece, industrial equipment, various services.

A trade war would be very nasty for everyone. I don't know if the EU has the balls, but they might.

If they do, we should tariff them for harming our best ally in Europe and see what happens. This will hurt us for sure, but this is a war against the global communists and

295 Adding the Labour total with SNP, which would vote Labour otherwise, this is still close to two to one. This apparently reached into the old Labour heartland of Manchester, too. So Labour is just a coalition of London-based upper class elites with preferred minorities, much like the Democrats are in the United States.

If the GOP could give up its idiotic open borders and endless wars positions, it would have a similar lock.

299 That is certainly possible. The human mind is complex. It is quite possible that Brexit is the catalyst that allowed people to vote Tory and not have it affect their conscience.

------------

Meaning people need a positive outward reason to vote for something when they feel guilty about their subcounscious reasons.

I have this similar belief that Trump's tweeting actually helps him. People may feel the need to say something bad about Trump - and they can use his tweeting as a way of saying they don't like him without ever saying they don't like his policies.

Its not a fully fleshed out observation, but in my mind it makes complete sense - and these things are related.

I think you might find it interesting that FDR actually deepened the Depression in 1933 when he kicked off another round of his policies.

And even if you argue that point, it is quite evident to everyone that what really snapped the US out of the Depression was the titanic war production associated with WWII.

Are you advocating for global war and slaughter of millions to achieve your goal?

No?

463 FDR extended the depression with all his playing at emperor and the war gave businesses some certainty that they could produce stuff without FDR stomping on their profits and market again.

Posted by: Gentlemen

The Depression era democrats extended the depression by competing and crowding out cheap labor thru work programs, etc. The threat of Gov intervention forced them to hold production down to preserve profits and that precluded hiring and expansion. FDR was economically illiterate. He was also very adept at appealing to the common man, without helping him...the Republicans at the time were made out to be evil business owners...right out of the communist play book. It worked right up through WWII - then the advent of Eisenhower and the use of war time expansion for consumer product production, along with Kennedy's tax reductions, produced the go-go 60's.

THIS. The FEAR of the Left is that Trump's election in 2016 wasn't an aberration; That their jumping the shark on all issues, general destruction of all norms and customs, aggressive and violent behavior out on the streets, and their demonstrably crazy policy positions, have all operated to produce a silent but real ground shift of public opinion against Progressivism.

And, this Progressive movement is the same movement, in all ways that matter, as the Labour movement in the UK, and the EU movement.

This definitive Troy smack down can't make the US Democrats and philosophical Progressives sleep easy. It's like a silent stalking horse, whispering in the ear "maybe everything I believe in and think I know is wrong, and I've built my life and worldview on pack of lies sold to me by elite monied interests.

Really want to fuck with them? Say, we would consider making the same offer to any of our good friends who leave the EU.
