The Soyciety Pages: Dunkin' on NeverTrump
🚢 🚢 🚢 🚢 🚢

The IG report might have falsely claimed that there was no evidence of political bias in the opening of Crossfire Hurricane, but it found that all of Devin Nunes' claims about lies told to secure the FISA warrant were true, and all of Adam Schiff's counter-claims were false:

The memo from the Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee reported:

* A salacious and unverified dossier formed an essential part of the application to secure a warrant against a Trump campaign affiliate named Carter Page. This application failed to reveal that the dossier was bought and paid for by Hillary Clinton and the Democratic National Committee.

* The application cited a Yahoo News article extensively. The story did not corroborate the dossier, and the FBI wrongly claimed Christopher Steele, the author of the dossier, was not a source for the story.

* Nellie Ohr, the wife of a high-ranking Justice Department official, also worked on behalf of the Clinton campaign effort. Her husband Bruce Ohr funneled her research into the Department of Justice. Although he admitted that Steele "was desperate that Donald Trump not get elected and was passionate about him not being president," this and the Ohrs' relationship with the Clinton campaign was concealed from the secret court that grants surveillance warrants.

* The dossier was "only minimally corroborated" and unverified, according to FBI officials.

All of these things were found to be true by the Inspector General Michael Horowitz in his December 9 report. In fact, Horowitz detailed rampant abuse that went far beyond these four items.

The Democratic minority on the committee, then led by Rep. Adam Schiff, put out a response memo with competing claims:

* FBI and DOJ officials did not omit material information from the FISA warrant.

* The DOJ "made only narrow use of information from Steele's sources about Page's specific activities in 2016."

* In subsequent FISA renewals, DOJ provided additional information that corroborated Steele's reporting.

* The Page FISA warrant allowed the FBI to collect "valuable intelligence."

* "Far from 'omitting' material facts about Steele, as the Majority claims, DOJ repeatedly informed the Court about Steeleís background, credibility, and potential bias."

* The FBI conducted a "rigorous process" to vet Steeleís allegations, and the Page FISA application explained the FBIís reasonable basis for finding Steele credible.

* Steele's prior reporting was used in "criminal proceedings."

Each of these claims were found by Horowitz to be false.

You'll never guess which True Conservative was so impressed by Adam Schiff's memo that he dashed off a National Review column to praise it and declare that Nunes' memo had been destroyed.

Or, maybe you will guess:

🚢 🚢 🚢 🚢 🚢

National Review has not retracted, corrected, or clarified that piece. Of course.

In fact, David French and the rest of the True Conservative gang were desperate to support Adam Schiff's schemes to push Devin Nunes out of his committee -- the same mission that NeverTrumper Liz Mair (currently being sued by Nunes for defamation and conspiracy) admitted she was paid to do by undisclosed "clients."

I know Liz Mair, at least, was honest enough to admit she's paid to carry this particular filthy water.

What has made the other NeverTrumpers such huge Adam Schiff Super-Fans?

Let's take a look at what the Meeting Of The Concerned About Their Future Employment Opportunities said about Adam Schiff's perfect, beautiful memo, and how Devin Nunes was a threat to democracy itself.

🚢 🚢 🚢 🚢 🚢

Now David French has to execute a maneuver he's performed several times before -- pretending that he was not an intense partisan whose previous claims have been revealed as huge lies.

Now he's just a Concerned Citizen, shaking his head at all this corruption.

But David French couldn't have known about that.

I mean, Devin Nunes told him all about it, but his Very Good Friend Adam Schiff told him Nunes was a liar, so.

🚢 🚢 🚢 🚢 🚢

Julie Kelly asks if this corrupt gang of grifters will be issuing apologies or retractions.

Of course not.

God gave his only begotten son, David French, so that Drag Queen Story Hour should not perish, but have everlasting life.

🚢 🚢 🚢 🚢 🚢

🚢 🚢 🚢 🚢 🚢

And this lifetime liberal, who has posed as the token "conservative" for a series of leftwing outlets, just can't advertising that his mouth is for rent:

🚢 🚢 🚢 🚢 🚢

Exit Question:

Do David French, Steve Hayes, Jonah Goldberg, Bill Kristol, and the rest of the gang finally start treating claims of Dan Jones, Glenn Simpson, Christopher Steele, Adam Schiff and John Brennan with some skepticism, given their track history of remorseless lies?

And if they don't begin to offer the most minimal level of skepticism towards the claims made by proven liars -- what conclusions can we begin to draw about this group?

Cash-and-Carry "Conservatism"

Where the highest-bidding client is always "right."

🚢 🚢 🚢 🚢 🚢

More:

🚢 🚢 🚢 🚢 🚢

More: Trump rally. He might maybe perhaps say something about all of this.

And whichever it is, the elected representatives better fix it, because if they can do this to a president, they can do it to the lowliest individual in the country.

131 The IG report is pretty much a waste, other than identifying what we already knew of the FBI's role here and Nunes reporting of it. The media was garbage on this, but Nunes was always right, everyone here already knew that. But its important that the IG vindicated Nunes, and that is something.

One thing that is clear also, and in defense of JackStraw and his optimism over the AG Barr/Durham efforts, this is whole operation against Trump was very complicated, mostly because very senior administrative people at the White House and at the Intel Agencies were involved and they were pretty much imbeciles, and that makes unwinding this pretty difficult. Its hard to find motives and reasons for actions when the idiot involved is...well, an idiot.

That's what Durham faces, and it takes a lot of time to get all the fact right. I think Barr will come through, he's determined and he's is not a wall flower. His comments about Wray and his confidence in him are politics - he does have to align those instincts with his suspicion that this whole thing has got to be corrected. But other than that, maybe, just maybe, "something might happen."

They keep writing, but no one is willing to pay for it.

Eventually their corporate backers will decide that the needle isn't getting moved and cut them loose.

Because that's what really drives this. No one expects those magazines to make money, they're more like advertising circulars for corporatism.

As Goldberg and Co. transition from "opinion leaders" to punching bags, their utility declines.

To put it another way, without the reputation of National Review, none of those guys would have gotten an audience. They've now wrecked that brand and are wandering around trying to find a new grift.

So, they are making shit up as they go along, which is by definition Ex Post Facto, which is against the Constitution.

Trump should immediately call on the Supreme Court and ask if the Constitution is even still in effect in this country.

As it calls for not only DUE PROCESS, but also for there to be some Crime or Misdemeanor, at the very LEAST, to be impeached (yeah, I know there is an old Supreme Court ruling on this crap, but stare decisis does not mean it cannot be overturned, and it was clearly a wrong ruling as the Constitution IS clear).

They've now wrecked that brand and are wandering around trying to find a new grift."

The upside to lefty billionaires pouring money down Never Trump/Always Cuck cash sucks is the money is diverted from things that could go more harm. But, yeah, even clueless Cloud People eventually get tired of dry pumps.

Hmmm. Trump says he is being spied on. Comey says that's not true....

It is the why of all of this why these clowns keep losing to the left - because they believe that the left would never lie to them, never betray them. they believe that there are some things the progressives would never do, some lines they will never cross. The problem is progressives will cross any line, and do anything, to serve the vision of the anointed. Lying to you? Fuck me, they will murder you in your sleep if they get the chance, if they think there is any opportunity to get away with it. the media needs to realize, not holding progressives accountable doesn't help them - it turns them into dangerous radicals.

211 Best post-OIG Analysis I've read so far, at Powerline, quoting and commenting on the very well thought-out Jonathan Turley's article from the Hill.

Turley makes this key point: "From the outset, the Justice Department failed to interview several key individuals or vet critical information and sources in the Steele dossier. Justice Department officials insisted to Horowitz that they choose not to interview campaign officials because they were unsure if the campaign was compromised and did not want to tip off the Russians. However, the inspector general report says the Russians were directly told about the allegations repeatedly by then CIA Director John Brennan and, ultimately, President Obama. So the Russians were informed, but no one contacted the Trump campaign so as not to inform the Russians?"

Damn right! Good catch, Turkey.

Posted by: RichardWindsor at December 10, 2019 07:34 PM (DRgs8)

212 "Remember, Andrew McCarthy thought that the notion that the Steele dossier was used to obtain the FISA warrant was being promoted by the crazies."

A friend from the Eastern District described McCarthy as a great prosecutor. He's earnest and thoughtful, which can be both a curse and a blessing.

If the FBI agents brought a complex case to the SDNY, he would be the kind of prosecutor who would try and find a reason to bring that case to trial if he could - that's where a defendant's lawyer typically loses. He's a team player. But he also has a predilection, if I can use that word now, to agree with the case agents. My friend is on the white collar defense side now, and he see what everyone here sees. Government case wins are feathers in caps, not a dispensing of justice. The Government actually could care less at the district level, they want to be a mucky muck at the DOJ at some point. McCarthy still, to this day, sinks back to the old passion of believing the FBI agent X, when X probably rubber hosed defendant Y to get his 302...

276 "158 I'm really floored that the Dems are going forward with Impeachment for things which are not even against any law."

I keep thinking that as well. If what Trump did was a high crime and misdemeanor, then everything every president has ever done, as well every member of congress, is a high crime and misdemeanor.

Every time a legislator has said he'd trade his vote for a appropriation in his district it was an abuse of power. Every time any funds were withheld to show someone who the boss is abuse of power. Every time any president has refused to answer any question from congress it is obstruction. It's nuts.

I mean, what the fuck? To get Trump they are proposing to make the country basically ungovernable.

All to what end? to protect Joe Biden's coke sniffing, whore screwing, grifter, son? Or to protect the slim chance Slow Joe is going to be elected president (he's not).

383 I've begun to realize that a big part of why there are so many cross dressers is possibly because tattoos, nose piercings, and purple hair are so common. The attention seekers have to find SOMETHING that screams "I'm different," and cross dressing is still f*cked up enough to give them their fix.

If you're dumpy, short, obese, mousy, awkward, and a generous three on the one to ten scale, the only action you're getting is from weirdos. If you want to catch their attention, you have to be pretty far outside of the norm.

Walking around Seattle, the girls with tons of tattoos, off-colored hair, nose-rings, and some sort of strident leftist political rant on your shirt are all ugly AND completely forgettable oddballs.

Its the sinking of the USS NR he's presiding over now...and he deserves every embarrassing moment that will ensue."

Goldberg's fat, greasy ass had not been jettisoned from the USS NR as of last week, when he was noodling about the nostalgia Joe Biden evokes. But, yes, throwing his weight overboard would slow the sinking. Maybe that's been done since I lowered myself to read there?

In real Star Trek - Scotty was a genius because he pampered his Chiefs. They kept the crystals in line. Those fucking crystals - one degree off, and the whole boat stops. Scotty never told the Captain how long it would take - because you never tell the brass that shit. Give 'em what they need. Not what they want.

Nobody liked Spock in real Star Trek. Kirk was fine - as long as he didn't touch anything. The NCOs all knew Sulu was gay - but he didn't push himself on anybody, so it was cool. They all loved Bones - that fucker would hit you in the neck with that hangover cure, give you a wink, and send you on your way to your shift.

no doubt there. When I first saw spiked seltzer I laughed. It is huge now and some are not that bad. The head of Sam Adams says all of their growth in the last year is attributable to hard seltzer. The vodka I was think of is called Little Black Dress. I think it comes it as 32 percent, or thereabouts. I miss Smirnoff 100 proof. Eighty seems the standard for Rum, Scotch, and Vodka. If they give you more, they will charge for it. At least a lot of bourbons are giving you around 45 percent. It does make a difference.

Is that an honest question ?

When we break the barrier and start moving off this rock, the notion of killing viable children will stop.

A lot of what we're seeing now - I'm not fucking around here - is because we don't have any more frontiers. We are watching, in real time, the friction between those that wake up every morning to control the status quo and those that want to move beyond it.

You need both types. But you also need a place where the wilder bunch can go.

I hear ya. Microdistilleries are popping up everywhere. Austin has Tito's, Deep Eddy and likely several others at this point. Tito's and Deep Eddy are not micro at all though.

I think this all started when the French started making vodka out of grapes. At that point, people decided why not us?

650 Is that an honest question ?

When we break the barrier and start moving off this rock, the notion of killing viable children will stop.

A
lot of what we're seeing now - I'm not fucking around here - is because
we don't have any more frontiers. We are watching, in real time, the
friction between those that wake up every morning to control the status
quo and those that want to move beyond it.

You need both types. But you also need a place where the wilder bunch can go.

What do you think will happen if a "gay gene" is discovered?

And no, we don't need both types. Countless studies have concluded there is only one way to raise healthy, intelligent, emotionally mature children and that is the traditional nuclear family. Sexual perversions that don't promote the propagation of the species will not be allowed if we are to ever expand our presence beyond Earth, nor should it ever even be considered.
The friction today is between those who recognize this timeless, simple truth and those who don't. Those who don't recognize it want to tear down society and many readily admit it. Search for "My Sister Kate."

Just wanted to let y'all know I made a $250.00 donation to Toys for Tots from Rickl's meal acct.

I did that amount because that's what I told you I was going to do BUT...someone made a $200 donation last month. So there's a $270.00 balance left.

Any suggestions on where/what to spend that on? I could contact Linda and see if she wants it to go to the shelter that's taking Reggie. Or if anyone has any other ideas, I'm open to suggestions.

656 What do you think will happen if a "gay gene" is discovered ?

Honest answer - some will cultivate it. Others will kill it. Most will let it ride - because they won't care when they see that picture on the screen and relate it to a baby in their arms.

Can't see getting to a point where that child is killed because it won't reproduce - because it can always work and benefit the State without leaving a legacy. The perfect Citizen, in some respects, depending on who you ask.

But if we do get to that point - then the State has truly won, and we all just eat and work and fuck and die not for our own best interests, but rather for the collective. I don't like queers, and I will not associate with them. But I don't like Authority calling balls and strikes based upon a gene that might indicate their worth to the State either.

I don't see any sort of future at this point that would be a good outcome for these people. If the moonbats win, they're going to toss their hacks under the bus (or in the ovens, even). If they lose, these idiots will need to go into exile.

Everyone making nice after a conflict is a relatively modern luxury that only really works with wars between states. This is going to get ugly.

There is no genetic basis for homosexuality. Mostly it seems to be a reaction to abuse. Either way, it is a choice of how to behave.

I assume every time we saw a cat cutting hair, or picking colors, or the friggin' Property Brothers.

Red - what you're talking about it pre-crime. And look - I'm down with it, when it comes to Islam. They shouldn't be here.

But queer ? No - queer is not reason enough to abort a child, or deny their right to property, or herd them to a camp. This is the problem with getting serious about things - you've always got fuckers that are extremely unserious.

NO reason is enough to abort a baby. I started this conversation by pointing out there is no "gay gene". If there were, progressives desperate to prove "born that way" would have found it.
Homosexuality is, however, bad for society. It is a disordered and, not coincidentally sinful, lifestyle and every society that has condoned it was on a downward trend to disintegration. Adopting a live and let live attitude is fine in theory but a) I can promise you that attitude is not shared by the homosexuals who march in Rainbow parades (wearing nothing but leather and chains) and insist they have the right to be married and be treated as heterosexual couples in every way (including in adoption) and b) that attitude when writ large on public policy leads to the aforementioned disintegration.

Being homosexual is enough to deny them marriage (or at least marriage to someone of their same sex) just as being first cousins or already being married to someone else is. It is also enough to not allow children to be adopted or IVFed into a disordered lifestyle that leaves them either without a mother or a father and leads to much worse outcomes for those children. Children should not be left in the care of adults that drag them to rainbow parades where naked men are cavorting at the age of 5. Yet Neil Patrick Harris and his partner do exactly that.

And the property Brothers are both straight. One is married to an oriental chick and the other is dating a woman.
