Eat Less Chicken: Records Show that Chick-Fil-A Has Donated to All Sorts of Conservative-Bashing "Charities," Including the SPLC

Chick-Fil-A is now donating to the very group that put up the map that targeted the Family Research Council, previously one of of Chick-fil-A's supporters.

In 2017, the Chick-fil-A Foundation gave a generous donation to the anti-Christian Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), which several years ago inspired a potentially deadly domestic terrorist attack on the pro-family Christian organization.

The gunman, Floyd Corkins, stormed FRC headquarters in 2012 "armed with a semi-automatic pistol, 100 rounds of ammunition and 15 Chick-fil-A sandwiches," after he had seen the SPLC's "hate" map online....

"I wanted to kill the people in the building and then smear a Chick-fil-A sandwich in their face," Corkins would later tell the FBI.

The gunman had been enraged by the nationwide Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day, which was organized by conservative activists who wanted to show their support for the restaurant when it was under attack by LGBT activists and their supporters in the corporate media, as well as the Democrat Party....

In spite of all that, the SPLC still lists FRC-- previously one of Chick-fil-A's most vocal defenders--as a "hate group." The restaurant paid FRC back by donating to one of its worst enemies.

Get woke...

People probably won't boycott the store, but they'll almost certainly scale back the politcally-sympathetic overpatronage they were granting Chick-fil-A.

And you know, Popeye's does make a very good chicken sandwich now.

64 Never liked CFA...not only is the idea of a piece of chicken topped with nothing but a pickle on a wonderbread white bun sort of unappealing, but I hate waffle fries as a concept -- they violate the standards of what a good fry is supposed to be (crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside). However, because ofCFA's conservative bona fides, I would occasionally eat there anyway. That stops now.
I am unaware of any other fast-food chains with conservative credentials, but I do like the chicken sandwiches at both Burger King and Popeye's, so I will just go back to eating what tastes good (or at least better).
On the other hand, I only eat fast food about six times a year, and one of those is a burger at Five Guys, so it's not like I'm going to affect anyone's bottom line in a big way.

At least I don't have to try and choke down another order of waffle fries. #Winning!

To be fair not that Hunter deserves it:

Likely it has gone like this. Baby mama (and her atty) says he should pay X in child support monthly until the child is 21 or 18, has no visitation, he will pay for college, provide health insurance, etc and so on.

Hunters previous atty probably answered no it will be less no way Hunter can afford it. Baby mamas atty probably asked for discovery materials including three years financials though the wording of the article says the judge ordered it. That may have been in response to the request for seal which was basically saying okay we will give over financials but you have to seal them.

Because the press will want those. And I imagine baby mama has already had offers for them in the tens of thousands of dollars. And when I say press, mainly National Enquirer.

119 I used to work at two different CFA's once upon a time. If the owner/operators of the franchises see a drop in sales as a result of this, corporate will hear about it and will change course quickly. Pretty sure corporate is monitoring sales activity a little closer as we type.

one data point: A Christian school back in my home town had a standing order with the local CFA for a few hundred sandwiches twice/week. They cancelled this order until further notice (i.e. when corporate donation recipients change). Assume 200 sandwiches X 2/week X $3.75/sandwich = $1,500/week. The owner/operators will be screaming soon if they haven't done so already.

Of course it's bad, it is a white wash, but we all knew it would be so, the last four Horowitz IG reports have been nonsensical bullshit time wasters, which is essentially the point of IG reports.

And Barr can go fuck a duck, Trump gave him the authority to de-classify and get info out into the public and he has failed to do so and is off doing lord knows what with Durham.

So Barr, get out there and mix it up with the IG and tell us exactly why you disagree with the IG's findings...

But you won't do that will you, you'll be off making some whining speech at some college or league of severely conservative conservatives, conservatively conserving conservatism and the rool of law!!!!

350 Problem with all those grocery store rotisserie chickens, is they're all about 3-1/2 pounds, or damn near that.

That's one meal for two people, at best. Once you account for the weight of bone and waste, there's just not that much actual meat on one.

Which is why I buy roasting hens in the 6.5 lb. to 7 lb. range.

That's two meals for two people, and a lot more carcass and drippings to work with, going into the soup mode, too.

As for Chik Fil EH?

I won't avoid 'em if a crowd I'm with wants 'em for lunch.

But I also won't seek them out for my own fare anymore.

There are so many "equal or better" choices out there, that the alternatives are abundant and enjoyable.

So, ENJOY!

351 My guess is this is all a prelude to taking the company public, so the children of Cathy can cash out and feel good about themselves. You can't go public unless you show growth -- we live in a world absolutely obsessed with growth. It's one of the reason older folks have a hard time finding a job in IT -- there's no "room to grow." Progressivism is a disease even here.

My suggestion is go beyond a boycott. Find some way to organize a "sit in" at some local CFA on a periodic basis. Lots of people show up at the store, buy a single small drink, and sit at a table to drink it. Same thing in the drive-through. They can't toss you out because you are a paying customer, but you can make the location so crowded that people purchasing regular meals and families, etc., just leave rather than waiting. The only way this is going to be reversed is when they have to close stores, leaving hulks of old CFA's up for sale in more than a few places.

They won't notice much else, because they will just rebuild the business, or replace Christian customers with customers in London, SF, etc.

Christian owners of CFA need to object to this, as well, and ask for their part of the funds that go into the "charity" side of CFA to be kept locally for them to give out to local charities.

352 247 Iceberg went out of business around here.
They started prioritizing Mormon customers. making all others wait. The
night I had to wait over an hour for a burger while Mormon families were
served within minutes was the last time I went there. Or am I being
unreasonable because I refuse to wear a white shirt and a tie to a
burger joint?

i'm a mormon and i don't even own a white shirt and a tie.

Well, maybe you don't go to church anymore, at least if you are a Mormon in Utah. It's kind of a thing in Utah that if a Mormon goes to church, he is wearing a white shirt and tie. Oh, and ladies must wear dresses/skirts. Professional pant suits are definitely not a thing for women in Utah Mormon churches.

353 I have stopped buying from CFA for myself but my wife is not attuned to those things one way or the other so I don't try to impose on her (not that it would work well if I did). I was out running errands yesterday mid-day and she asked me to pick her up a CFA sandwich, which I did. It is obviously anecdotal evidence, but I would estimate that the line was about a third to a half shorter than my previous experiences at that location at lunch time. In the past I would have had a sandwich with her but I did not and later put $5 in the Salvation Army kettle at the grocery store instead.
