Listen up, commissars. You better string lights on those structures, or some ship is going to run into them one dark night. And then Uncle Joe Stalin will have your guts for garters.

This painting, and others of his I saw on the Wiki page, make me think they would be great book covers for Jules Verne stories. I mean that as a positive. His scenes are eye catching.

46 This is a fantastic example of Socialist Realism. The colors are bright and clean. The imagery is immediately recognizable. The harbor is full of boats and ships. There's construction happening on the docks and elsewhere signifying modernity and prosperity. People have jobs. And the sunrise is dead center behind that central silo/warehouse creating an aura or halo around it. The sunbeams brighten the sky and the dark clouds dissipate. It's interesting that silo is very prominent. Even tho this is a heavily urban scene, the farmer is still represented--the hammer and the sickle are symbolized here.

I like this painting. It's an interesting update on an old art history theme: the progress of civilization.

People have taken to social media to express their confusion over the content, structure and personalities in Peloton's newest ad.

The advertisement features a thin woman who is gifted a Peloton bike by her husband for Christmas. Throughout the ad, the woman documents her experience through a series of vlogs. Toward the end of the ad, the woman and her husband are seen watching her vlogs back on a television in her living room.

People found several problems with the ad including the fact that it makes it seem as though the husband wants her to lose weight even though she is thin to begin with.

I never had a chemistry set, but when I got to high school chemistry junior year, my then best friend and I had free run of the class' stockroom during our free period and lunch. We'd help mix up reagents for the lab experiments. As the same classroom was used for college-track physics, we had the run of that equipment, too -- Tesla coils, a Van De Graff generator, mercury metal, you name it. Our best caper was disposing of out of date bottles of benzoyl peroxide (maybe 50 grams in each bottle) by inserting wires through their lids, using nichrome wire as a fuse to join the two wires, burying the bottles in a snowbank, and then igniting them using the lab benches' power board. We would laugh hysterically when puffs of orange smoke erupted out of the snow after each detonation. Did I mention that our teacher was part of these hijinks? He was as loopy as were we.

And the initial intel impeachment report remains a secret through the whole process? That sounds about right for these knuckleheads - it wasn't just because Nancy Pelosi thought Nadler was a complete idiot and picked Schiff for his looks...they needed the secrecy that the "intel" committee would afford them - otherwise these clowntards would have their report publicly laughed out of the political solar system.

372 I can't say I recall the "Strange Change Machine." Maybe they never sold it around here.

My thing was the Mattel Shootin' Shell pistols and rifles, with bullets modeled on the real thing: a (spring-loaded) metal cartridge into which snapped a (plastic) bullet nose. You put a Greenie Stik-M-Cap on the end of the cartridge and loaded it into your weapon. The hammer came down, BANG, and your bullet flew out somewhere to put your little brother's eye out, and soon was lost forever. But you could still put BANG caps on the cartridges afterward, like shooting blanks. The cartridges fitted the Peacemaker Colts as well as the Winchester-style lever-action rifles and the snub-nose Detective Special.

Genius-level toy design.

Compare and contrast. Back when Slick Willie was being impeached, we were told my expert, media and Donks that not all crimes were "high crimes and misdemeanors" and that a little witness tampering, obstruction of justice and rape wasn't a "high" crime. Now the same fine folks who told us that are telling us, "Crime? We don't need no stinkin' crime!"

LOL I saw that. Dems whipped up a fake poll because they want Beto to run, because without him they only got a sad sack collection of nobodies with no money to run against Cornyn.

But they're all hiding from the fact that Beto is politically dead in Texas - all any campaign against him from now on needs to be is constant clips of Beto saying he's going to send federal agents door to door to confiscate everyone's guns. Oh, and legally persecute any church that won't perform gay marriages.

The only way Beto comes in is if some other millionaire kicks in a huge payment for it to happen, but I doubt that happens.
