That is, one part is evil, and the other merely stupid. "Kind of like our main political parties. "Progressivism has a lot of stupid ideas, mostly involving giving away free sh*: free education, free medical care, and now federally-subsidized tampons, so you younger 'ettes can now ride the cotton pony in style. Of course none of this stuff is actually "free", somebody has to pay for it, which is one of the reasons why it's stupid. "But promising free sh*t isn't necessarily evil. What's evil is when you also tell them: (a) you have a right to it, and (b) if you don't have it, it's because someone is deliberately keeping you from having it. Because once you start going down that path, you create all sorts of bitterness and anger in yourself to people you don't even know who do who-knows-what to keep you from getting what you believe is rightfully yours and you get into the habit, the very bad habit, of blaming your troubles on others. "And you'll always have a ready excuse for your own laziness or incompetence and the laziness and incompetence of like-minded friends. "This is not really healthy. "Larry Elder recently tweeted: 'Half the country thinks there is a free lunch—and that the other half is stopping them from eating it.' Which, in a nutshell, is why one half of the country trying to tear the other half apart. "And in other words, Mitt Romney is apparently skulking around Twitter under the alias 'Pierre Delecto'. What a cuck." Has Everyone Lost Their D*mn Mind?

Progressivism is a dog's breakfast of every destructive "-ism" in recorded history: communism, socialism, and a few others. Notice the distinction between "progressive values" and the principles that under-gird our nation. You won't find any progressives who ever talk about the rule of law, or personal responsibility, or true equality before the law. These principles are never ever spoken of, as if they're all some sort of taboo words.
What it is is virulent anti-Americanism and if we don't start purging this defective mindset from our political system and our society, we're really going to regret not doing so. Things are already getting way out of hand. Posted by: BackwardsBoy does whatever his television tells him at October 21, 2019 11:31 AM (HaL55) 70

Now Julian being a commie idiot prob'ly thinks the state should just provide these products; he should read up on Cuba, where you get a monthly ration of supplies and trying to find a store that had them on the shelves if you have heavy periods and need more is nearly impossible. I think they MSM is not covering the failed apprehension of El Chapo's son/street violence in Mexico last week because it is not a good fit with the narrative that only people wanting a better life/dreamers come over our border.
If we acknowledge that the country on our Southern border is mostly a lawless narco state, and they rely on our open border to move their illegal products - drugs, human (sex slaves, etc.) - into the US then even more people will demand we shut the border down. Not just a wall, but send the cartel people/MS-13 already here home, make them get things settled before we start allowing immigration traffic. A wild guess would be that El Chapo's people are still paying off politicians and maybe even media to protect them. El Chapo admitted bribing politicians. Progressivism is the belief that society would be better if it were run by an intellectual elite.
A Progressive is someone who imagines themselves as part of this elite. Posted by: Grump928(C) reminds you at October 21, 2019 11:50 AM (D1R6o) Every Leftoid I ever met is exactly this. They all think they're going to get some cushy job in the upper echelons of some government ministry, and be a few heartbeats away from being the next Dear Leader. As someone said, makeup is far more expensive than feminine care, even the drug store brands. You could argue that a womans appearance and how she feels about herself has a lot more to do with being able to go to work, perform and excel. Not saying that's right or wrong, just true.
Should makeup be tax free, too? Maybe taxes shouldn't be used to punish or reward any specific group, but instead used as sparingly as possible. Posted by: Chunk Hunger at October 21, 2019 11:56 AM (sN9mD) 277

"none of this stuff is actually "free", somebody has to pay for it"
In the old days of Real Money that was mostly true. Modern Monetary Theory (MMT) says the government just prints the money as needed. There are few "checks and balances" to MMT, and political malfeasance makes it untenable in the long run (probably) ... But we have basically lived under MMT for some time now ... with at least $220T (Trillion) in unfunded liabilities, and gargantuan bailouts and subsidies for the elite/corrupt (2Big2Fail or Jail). And we could go back to days before the Federal Reserve, back even to the "Continental" and various currencies/debts issued by states or Congress. (only 6% from foreigners like France, per this link. https://tinyurl.com/yxs3dlco AOC and Warren apparently want unlimited MMT to fund everything (communism via proxy of monetary policy) ... while Trump is moving ahead with limited MMT (ZIRP, NIRP, covert QE, debt to infinity) This could lead to inflation, which in theory is controlled by taxing people more, but most of this is why unlimited MMT would be so bad. And the USD would be weaker, but all currencies went down the Fiat Currency rabbit hole (what government doesn't want to spend 10x more than they have?) The question of "who pays" becomes "who works, who collects profits, who makes the decisions on where the fake money gets distributed, when does the fake currency become hyper-inflated? But really, no one "pays" for infinite fake currency ... the question is who gets left holding the bag (full of worthless paper they thought had real value). Or do we just all get a social credit scored credit card, to fulfill every need, as long as we are good citizens? (underway in China even now?) Much was made of Obrador being a socialist, but if he doesn't use the military to take back control of his country, his Presidency is finished. My truth is that the chick in the second Calvin Klein billboard is a morbidly obese cow who is probably going to cost taxpayers millions over her lifetime because they'll have to pay to treat her diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, and other fat-related illnesses.
Plus she's the type who will call 911 for an ambulance when she wants to go the ER to get treated for the sniffles or an STD, because she's too lazy to walk and too cheap to call a taxi and because she can't fit her fat ass behind the steering wheel of a car. Buying in bulk at like Costco and just regualar tampax saves a lot so they're inexpensive. Buying a pallet of tampons seems a big odd to me. Posted by: JackStraw at October 21, 2019 11:49 AM (ZLI7S) Two things to consider. First, tampons will make great trading material during stainless steel colander facemask times. Almost as good as cheap vodka or boxes of 22lr. And they work quite well for plugging bullet wounds. I watched Shark Tank last night and they had on an entrepreneur who rode into the studio on a toilet secured to some kind of a four wheel atv type thing. His product was some kind of fizzy tablet of essential oils you can drop into the toilet prior to using it to cover up smells. so... similar to v.i.poo, which (if i understand the commercials correctly) is a spray can of oil that puts a sheen on the toilet water before you use it?
