Iran Kidnaps -- or "Detains," as the Compromised American Media Says -- Exile Who Shared News of Anti-Regime Protests On His Mini-Media Platform

Watch ABCNews break open its Emergency Euphemism Cabinet to avoid saying "kidnapped from his place of exile in Paris and then thrown in a dungeon for speaking out against the regime."

Instead they say that unknown persons -- Revolutionary Guard spies, naturally -- "guided" the man from an outside country to Iran, at which point he was "detained."

Iran's paramilitary Revolutionary Guard said Monday it arrested an exiled journalist who helped fan the flames of nationwide economic protests that struck the country at the end of 2017. Meanwhile, Iran's president said his country was prepared to begin using even more-advanced centrifuges as its nuclear deal with world powers collapses.

The Guard and a later announcement on state television did not explain how authorities detained Ruhollah Zam, who ran a website called AmadNews that posted embarrassing videos and information about Iranian officials. He had been living and working in exile in Paris.

The Guard said Zam was "guided into the country" before the arrest. His channel on the encrypted messaging app Telegram was apparently taken hold of, too, as a message noting his arrest went to its 1 million subscribers.

An announcement on state television called Zam a "special prey." It said his detention was a victory of the Guard's intelligence department over Western services.

The report described Zam as the head of network of psychological warfare by Iran's enemies. The Guard alleged Zam was supported by the intelligence services of the U.S., France and Israel, something the journalist long denied. French officials could not be immediately reached for comment.

This is a major test for the media, though I'm not sure it's a "test," as I know the media will fail.

The media is currently in its second or third week of Virtue Signalling over the assassination of Jamil Kashoggi by Saudi Arabia.

But the media is aligned with Iran because Obama was aligned with Iran.

Attacking Saudi Arabia over Kashoggi is in the media's political interests, in as much as attacking Saudi Arabia benefits their chief enemy, Iran. And the media is aligned with Iran.

But now that Iran has abducted a journalist from Paris -- where is journalism was completely legal -- and imprisoned him, likely in order to be executed -- will the media make any kind of noise? Will we see dozens of op-eds decrying the savagery of the Iranian regime, as they did in the case of Saudi Arabia?

Or will they take a knee?

Bear in mind, the man will almost certainly be executed within days or weeks, so it is critical that the media make a very big noise right fucking now if there is to be any chance that this man lives.

What's your bet?

My bet is that they pretend this didn't happen.

Because they're monsters and cowards and furthermore in the employ -- either de facto or in earnest -- of hostile foreign interests.

2 Forget the media, France would be well within their rights to retaliate. They would have to, if they don't want to run the risk of other intelligence agencies running amok in their country.

The paradox of Iran desperately trying to provoke a war to relax sanctions continues.

Ace, of course the media will ignore this. It goes against the narrative.

Unless they cannot stand not being the story. The media makes itself the story as often as possible. They are the story, they write the story and you will believe whatever story they foist upon you.

None of the stupid twits on the View even have a clue where Syria or SA is even located.

I just saw a brief clip this morning on Baritiromo of Rand's attempt to answer the first question on that show. Instead of listening ,they all started shrieking and screaming and waving hands, then when Paul turned away and held his hand up, they started screaming at him to not wave them off. It was unbelievable.

But hey, let's defend an informant who none of the dipshits on that show had ever heard of before last spring.

Because he was getting the news of Iran's behavior out to the masses as an exile. Per the BBC:

He ran the Amadnews website, a popular anti-government online forum which Iran accuses of inciting the nationwide protests of 2017-18.

The news network, which has around 1.4 million followers on encrypted messaging app Telegram, shared videos of protests and damaging information about Iranian officials.
It was shut down by the Iranian government, which said it was fomenting an "armed uprising", but later reopened under a different name. . .

She is exactly where I expected her to be, in Media. She and Barack have created a starter media empire, Higher Ground Production, through which they are creating Netflix and Spotify (podcasts) content. I bet they expand this further once they get a few stable shows and podcasts established. Then there are the books and book tours, as well as the Obama Foundation events that will give her the first class travel opportunities she came to love as FLOTUS - all without the pesky microscope of the (albeit adoring) DC media.

There is no upside for Michelle to run for president. She hates DC, and haaated living in the WH.

In separate planes, even when they're going to the same place. Hmmmm.

274 I'll take up the unpopular, common man position. We wonder why the much vaunted media somehow deserve protection, when it is crystal clear to everyone they spend their time either lying to us, trying to manipulate us, or outright calling for our rights to be removed. They are seeing some success on the last part of that.

What we in the the few factories still operating see is the press is protected for the express purpose of oppressing us. Sure, that term is uncomfortable. I'm no Marxist. But "Journalists" supposedly on our side worried about the protection of those out to destroy us, is getting rather old.

Oh, and the "well what would the world be like without a free press" thing. Well, all we know is NOW, the supposed free press actively seeks our destruction. Yet somehow that activity must be protected, for all civilization!

The most apparent it comes is when discussing the movie Matawan, which was made by Sayles and is full blown communist. Some people love that movie way more than it deserves. It's pretty good, but not some lost masterpiece.

380 I've stayed at the ("Royal Dog Whorehouse" of a ) hunting lodge just above that Victoria monument looking out across the Rhine at Alsace. It's a hum dinger, all right. But, when you get to talking to the Germans, at Coblenz, or, especially, Heidelberg, they want to take you to the castles and city walls that still have French cannon holes in them, from century after century when France was constantly and invading them.

It took the German army, with total freedom of movement and no opposition in the air, seven weeks to reduce the Belgian forts around Liege, after the Belgian army was no longer in the field. If you ever get the chance to see the inside of one, I recommend it. They are better than the Maginot forts.

And then, nobody but nobody thought Fritz could take the Czechs. The Germans had these cute little tanks. Who did they think they were kidding?

You shouldn't be pessimistic about LA guv on 11/16. I've posted the reasons before, including but not limited, to:

1) JBE did WORSE than he did the first time in 2015, in 62 out of 64 parishes.

2) Turnout was 20% higher than in 2015.

3) Rispone (R) is a self-funder, who spent $11 million on the jungle primary. He can't be defined by an ad blitz.

4) AA turnout in LA was lackluster. Not elsewhere.

5) David Vitter is just a memory now. In 2015, he was the GOP's albatross.

I'm more worried about the KY gov election on Nov 3rd (I think) than I am about beating JBE in LA. Anyway, KY is a couple of weeks before LA, & Gov. Matt Bevins (R-inc) isn't very popular in KY. There has been very little polling in KY. I'm sure Trump will go to KY to campaign with Bevins.

398 I think there may be a basis for a new deal here, the kind of deal only Trump can pull off.

The Iranians detain Roman Polanski and help guide him back to the United States, where we can take him into custody, and in exchange, we'll reenter negotiations with them.

Posted by: Ernst Schreiber at October 15, 2019 01:57 PM (xmKbk)

399 The French are assiduously cultivating the Iranians, and keep making these small flattering concessions, like allowing Iranian agents to abduct opposition members from Paris.
I remember Rouhani's visit, when out of respect for Islam the French refrained from serving wine during the state dinner. This is how much they care for the Iranians' good opinion.
They would do anything to curry their favor and keep the nuclear "deal" going.
