US Rep. Ilhan Omar suggested Monday that the press and her political foes are partly to blame for the demise of her marriage. "Ilhan and Ahmed have been the object of speculation and innuendo from political opponents and the media," according to a statement from her lawyer, referring to the Minnesota congresswoman and her husband, Ahmed Hirsi, and which the rep said he was issuing "on behalf" of Omar. "This has taken a significant toll on Ilhan, Ahmed, and their three children. "As with all marriages, this is intensely personal and a difficult time for their family," the statement added.Which family? Criticism of Omar's married life and personal affairs is a disturbing sign of tribalism in our divided America.
To be sure, her personal conduct is unbecoming - but Trump's supporters can't condemn her affairs in one breath, as they support a President whose personal conduct is the worst of any politician in American history, in the.

NY has had way over a century of watching slumlords pull this exact same con to show them how, and SCOTUS isn't putting up with it.
For those who don't know this particular dance, it goes like this:
Tenant has to put up with acres of shit, but one particular thing stands out, so the tenant focuses on that one thing and harasses the landlord about it. The landlord ignores them, harasses them back, and generally acts terribly.
So the tenant takes them to court. But the courts move very very slowly, so things drag on for months or sometimes even years. Then, when the tenant finally gets their day in court, a slick lawyer shows up and makes a motion to dismiss because that one thing got fixed this morning, your honor.
In the meanwhile, all the other horrible things have not only been ignored, the landlord actively made them worse as retaliation.

Yes, it's in the rules someplace I think. The idea is the president isn't supposed to act like a dictator and can't just make his own personal deals with other countries without the people, or rather their representatives in congress, having full knowledge of this.I get what you are saying 100% though. Well the time honored way this is done - by Obama, by Bush, by everyone else - is that you send your personal representative over to do all the private talks for you, and see what can be worked out, and then he comes back and talks privately to the President. THEN the "official" phone call is made between leaders, but it is scripted on both sides, simply memorializing what was worked out secretly.
But Trump likes to deal and negotiate himself, he doesn't like to use go-betweens. So he won't do it that way.
