Uh-Oh: Fake "Whistleblower" Lied to IG About His Contacts With Adam Schiff

Or, rather, he did not disclose that which must be disclosed.

He attested -- under pain of penalty -- that there were not other contacts he had made about his complaint.

That's a lie.

The complaint form requires such disclosures, and for some reason, the "Whistleblower" deliberately concealed legally-required disclosure.

The complainant’s failure to disclose his interactions with Schiff or his staff could put him in legal hot water, as the whistleblower form he submitted requires individuals to disclose "other actions you are taking on your disclosure" under penalty of perjury. An entire page of the whistleblower form is dedicated to collecting information about previous disclosures so the ICIG can take appropriate action in response to the complaint.

"I have previously disclosed (or am disclosing) the violations alleged here to (complete all that apply)," the form requires the complainant to attest. The form includes checkboxes for disclosures to other inspectors general, other agencies, the Department of Justice, the Government Accountability Office, the Office of Special Counsel, other executive branch departments, Congress and its respective committees, and media.

I mean, hey, he's lying (under pain of perjury) on the form in which he makes his (Adam Schiff-lawyer-crafted) complaint, but we should totes believe him about everything else. Everything else he says he heard second or third-hand.

The kicker is that he has nothing to testify about! Anything he says is worthless, because he only said "someone else told me something had happened."

And to be legal for a second, the reason Hearsay testimony is tossed out is because there is no way to tell if the statement is true or false. Of course someone else said this to you - but was this second person lying or telling the truth? We don't know, they're not here to question, we don't even know who they are. That is why hearsay is worthless.

Posted by: Tom Servo at October 04, 2019 04:14 PM (trdmm)

92 That makes sense because, in a real WB situation, they would probably want to know how widespread this "secret" got. The WB complaint is a place to share problems that contain classified information--you still shouldn't be spreading complaints dealing with classified information outside of the need-to-know.

Congress is supposed to be forwarded urgent whistleblower complaints as their need to know, once an IG has decided that redress is only possible by sacrificing classification for addressing the complaint.

In this case, the weiner-blower made the decision for themselves and jumped ALL administrative review.

It's ridiculous for the IG or the DNI to say that this was all above board. It wasn't.

Like I said earlier today:

Funny, if Volker's testimony were so devastating, the Dems would have already leaked all over the damn place.

Let me put some learning on everyone...

Withholding aid for the Ukrainians not investigating 2016 is NOT the same as withholding aid for not investigating Vice President Kinnock and his drug-huffing spawn. Because Barr and company are digging on the former, the strategy is make people believe it is the latter. That's what every bit of this is about.

I'll go with: The whistleblower probably approached staff (probably even already well known to them) with a juicy tidbit he thought they could use. In that sense he is real. He was directed to the left preferred shady law firm for laundering this into something usable. The law firm added to the tidbit all the things Schiff needed to add to make it a juicy media story. Then it was given back to the whistleblower to file.

All apologies to the guy on the bus on Seinfeld, Ukraine was weak. They were a relatively new country being attacked by Putin. Our defense was the only game in town--because you can't cash European concern to buy weapons.

So, Washington profiteers moved in and told Ukraine just how they were going to have to play the game to get people in Washington rich in exchange for a modicum of protection.

I would be that much surprised if the reputation of "rampant corruption" in Ukraine isn't part of just reflection on Washington's participation in it + Russion-ish oligarchs.

There seems to be this feeling of a coverup that the Dems practically ran Ukraine and squeezed them whenever they were short on cash.

188 156 Exit question: Why has Schiff not been forced to recuse himself for this? Hell, why hasn't he been removed from the committee?

2nd question first - because he runs the committee, and it is totally corrupt.

1st question, recusal: recusal is a big joke, there *are* no actual rules to force it on Congressmen or anyone else, but Republicans do it because Democrats and their partners in the MSM screech about it nonstop.

Sessions could have told those demanding he recuse to STFU, and nothing would have happened. But he folded like a cheap lawn chair. Nunes recused because Ryan forced him to, because Ryan was playing for the other team.

Exit question: Why has Schiff not been forced to recuse himself for this? Hell, why hasn't he been removed from the committee?
Posted by: Lizzy at October 04, 2019 04:17 PM (bDqIh)

Because Democrats run the entire House. Each committee has an odd number of members, of which the majority are Dems. Each Committee has a Dem chairman who sets the agenda, the timeline, witnesses, etc. And Nancy is Queen of it all.

This is why this morning I was headshaking at the poster who was screaming that the Republicans should be calling all these people in to be witnesses. The Republican's have almost no power to call witnesses, unless the Dem chair agrees.

Does anyone think Schiff is going to actually allow witnesses that counter an argument for Impeachment or even are going to present facts?
This is why Nancy declared an impeachment inquiry without a vote, so while it's illigitimate, it's still going on no matter how much the republican's protest.

The Democrats aren't interested in rule of law, traditions, or House Rules. They own the House, they make the rules, daily.

Just like the way they treat Trump's appointees. If they can, they'll derail his nominees and impeach him. If they can't, though, they'll ice him because no one will want to work for him or talk to him on the phone.

An Oligarch is a member of an Oligarchy, which is a system where a handful of wealthy individuals or families run the government for their benefit, using the law as a weapon to smother all competition and give them special perks.

The economics of fascism, the modern Chinese system, and the modern Left could be said to be a form of curated oligopoly (oligarchic monopoly), where the entire economy is basically run by a handful of chosen winners in each industry, all of whom are Party loyalists.

The Wall Street Journal reported Friday that Pence fell in line and ultimately supported the report's public release, but privately counseled Trump against the matter when it was first raised. Dig it, I would never have believed the stuff we've found out about Hillary unless it had come bubbling up from the swamp.

If I'd heard that she was using her office as SecState to personally enrich herself by extorting foreign leaders and businesses, all the while hiding her dirty dealings in a secret communication channel that was actually 100% readable to US enemies, I would have said This is the sort of thing that makes us look like lunatics, now stop this raving and solve some real problems.

I never believed a word Hillary said and considered her utterly cynical and corrupt, but I never dreamed she was total banana republic on us.

I was clenched up over the idea of her becoming president the moment she announced, but I was nowhere close to imagining how dire the choice was.

And to be fair, I heard about the irregularity of Nancy's declaration first from Mark Levin. He said early this week that what the Democrats were doing was counter to almost three centuries of Congressional rules. Impeachment should be difficult, as you should not be able to do what the Dems are doing on a daily basis to the President.

He said he hoped the president's lawyers and the Republicans were listening to him.

Nancy Pelosi apparently decided that least bad solution to her dilemma was to not schedule a vote to convene an impeachment inquiry (so there in fact isn't one at this time) and allow scheduling of a series of cheesy public relations stunts that are falsely labeled an impeachment inquiry.

And the Democrats still look like idiots. This non-process resembles impeachment closely enough to cause the damage Pelosi had feared.

You know nothing of the caller awaiting you when you answer the phone at a hotline, however, you know exactly what you are responding to when you read, copy, paste, and reply to a comment.

Hanging up when you receive an unwanted dirty call is one thing Responding to a comment net even addressed to you is more like deciding to ring the caller back and discuss his original call.

I feel like an idiot now, looking back only a few years ago. For example, I used to like Jonah Goldberg. I can't believe I used to think he was actually a conservative.

Recently, I've come to feel like a Theodon, released from the evil magic spell of Wormtongue, with my eyes wide open.

The problem is the whistleblower is essentially beyond prosecution, because he isn't swearing to anything falsifiable. He's swearing to what he heard someone else said. This is one of the main reasons they never allowed second hand info before. Not only is it less reliable, it's open to abuse. Like, this, for instance.

460 The line of demarcation used to be bold and easy to read at the Journal. The junior news staffers were mouthing their lines, because they were waiting to advance in the left-wing world of all those other papers. The editorial staff were the grownups in the room.

Now, their news apprentices are the leftiest of the left, I figure because they are the top grads of the most respected schools, who compete with Patrice Lumumba. And the editorial page staff are, two out of three, hard line Nevah-Trumpahs of the old water, plus Drunk Before Noonan, "simply not our type, Thurston." So there is an awful lot of "assigned journalism" going on over there. It's really a lot more shocking than the Times.
