Saturday Morning Coffee Break

***

Good morning Morons. Let's take a look at a few stories that didn't get too much attention here at the AoSHQ this past week.

  • Should have charged your car at the donut shop. H/T CBD

  • What are the odds?

  • Should have bought a shredder.

  • Marriage is a two way street. So is divorce.

  • SMH, serious couch time needed.

  • There is a special place for these thieves.

  • Did I do that?

  • New Zealand is just plain weird.

  • If I wasn't watching carbs, this could be the job for me.

  • Logistics and transportation mistakes for beginners.

  • Start them young I say.

  • Of course drinking was involved.

  • Someone doesn't take rejection well.

  • Florida.

Enjoy these stories or something else that trips your trigger in this open thread. Be kind to the 'ettes, no running with sharp objects and play nice with one another.

    Have a great weekend!

    8 Willowed by Coffee.

The plan is to ensure a permanent Democrat led authoritarian cabal in Washington, with the help of Republican quislings. This has been the arrangement they have moved towards for years. In the end, it is an attack on the citizens of our country who voted for the president, not the president, per se. They want to show the people that a democratic republic is what they say it is, not what the people want, or vote for within the confines of our constitution.

That is why subversives like the Cucks are so upset. Free and fair elections guided by the people and won by someone like President Trump exposes them for the frauds and malcontents they really are. It takes away the auspices and levers of power from the despots posing as representatives and places them back in the hands of the people. It has turned subversive tools like the abuse of our judiciary on its head, and placed it back in proper context.

They can't have that, because they lose power and control which is then ceded, rightfully, back to the people.

It would be foolish to believe that in the end this isn't an assault on every one of us and our freedoms. Every single Democrat proposal ends in a taking or negative liberty- and I defy you to find one that does not. The only way we win this is to fight, and vote against the authoritarian behemoth that is trying to take control of our government, and ultimately our lives.

Willowed (where is the namesake of that anyway?)

Well also drag racing at the local strip is very accessible to the average gearhead.

I should drive out to Thompson Raceway Park some Saturday since it's less than an hour from me. Maryland football is the typical joke of a division 1 program and honestly should be busted down to club sport level plus I despise the NCAA Cartel as much as I do the GOPe. Plus watching the raw power of the quarter milers is the best climate denying I can think of.

Funny you should say that...my son is BIG into cars. Like BIG. He's even taken the motor out of one car and put it in another car (do not ask me why cuz I don't know) to take to the racetrack.

He's converted his BMW-something or other to a race car also. And I believe he currently has an engine in his basement that he's working on...for uh...something. So he was talking last night about teaching his kid to be a race car driver. I remained mum.

32 At one point a few years back I was interested in converting a Suzuki Samurai to an EV.

Narrator: it was a stupid idea and ridiculously expensive.

Anyway, there was an EV drag race up in Hagerstown so I went to see it. It was like a halftime show at regular drag race. So lots of really loud cars up there.

    Then the EV event.

    Silence. Which was totally anticlimactic.

And, only one car was reasonably fast. The rest of them were like watching golf carts racing.

the framers delegated power to the states and separated power within the federal government. it's almost as if they foresaw the threat of consolidated power the dems seek.

so the dems need to destroy these checks - the electoral college, independent judiciary and executive, the bill of rights - and they are not disguising it.

57 Holy Cow! Here is a great article in "The New Criterion" about "Leninthink" or the way communists approach the world and all dealing as a zero sum game.

    https://newcriterion.com/issues/2019/10/leninthink

If you want to understand what's been going on since Trump was elected and especially this week.

    Read the above article.

It should and will scare the shit out of you.

Read what Lenin thought, taught, and did.

In short, the Democrats must not be allowed to win back power in their present form.

They must be defeated at the ballot box.

They must lose bigly in their efforts to unseat Trump.

The traitors and seditionists who sought to run a coup against the duly elected President of the United States of America must go to trial and face severe punishment for their actions.

If we fail in any of those three, I fear we lose the republic.

Sorry for the rant, but -

we keep thinking how crazy the Dims sound -

Nope. They are thinking very very clearly about what they want and are willing to do to wreck the middle and working classes and American society and prosperity in general.

80 Am off @ mid-day to go help gf's neighborhood put on their first National Night Out event. It's a brand new neighborhood and the developer has just about sold all of the lots. Within the year, the homeowners will take over the HOA from the developer and be running the show on their own.
Texas does its NNO the first Tuesday in October as it is too danged hot the first Tuesday in August. But weekends are getting to be more popular for the event than a Tuesday evening.

238 I saw an article about Shiftpods being sent to the Bahamas to build tent cities for hurricane victims. I had never heard of them before, and checked out their website:

    https://shiftpod.com/shiftpod/

Those things are really cool! My camping and music festival days are long over, or I would snap one up in a heartbeat. The basic Shiftpod2 is $1800 which sounds like a lot, but then I recall I paid $300 for a Eureka dome tent back in the 1980s, which was pretty snazzy at the time. Shiftpods are larger and have more features, and then consider 30 years' worth of inflation, and the price difference doesn't sound so bad.

251 I grew up in a dry town.

Back in the late 60s the city had to petition the legislature for funds that were raised on taxes of beer, wine and liquor, since the legislature had the idea that my town didn't pay any of those taxes and shouldn't get any of it back.

They held a hearing at the capitol and one of the witnesses was the man who owned and operated the garbage company for both my town and the neighboring town that had the state liquor store.
The word is that he showed up dressed to work on one of his trucks, and testified that there was pretty much the same ratio of brown and green bottles thrown away in one town as the other, and there might be more found in the dry town.

So my town got part of the liquor tax.

    --

    HAHAHAHA

Hey sugartits, guess what those officers can do to vehicles that run on gas when they aren't re-fueled at the end of a shift to not let L'Tray in his 2007 Mitsubishi with a salvage tag escape in a pursuit?

I think Trump wants the whole Deep State to blow open and Biden /Ukraine just happens to be part of that.

394 now pelosi is saying "barr has gone rogue", as if he is obstructing congress' "impeachment inquiry". which is absurd - it's one day after the "inquiry" started!

of course, what that reveals is one of the motives for this broad attack on the administration - they are trying to undermine and neutralize the coming reports on the corrupt "russian collusion" farce.

Fairfax is one of the premier hospitals in the nation, so you can't improve, theoretically. They will save your life if possible, and take good care of you till they know they have. Then when they've accomplished that, your care, ie peeing, pain, meds on schedule, meals, hygiene, etc SUCKS. I think it has to do with their having to do so much data entry they can't actually nurse.

Swedish teenager Greta Thunberg said Friday she doesn't understand why grown-ups and world leaders would mock children and teens for acting on science, responding to attacks on her campaign as students conducted a second wave of global protests demanding action on climate change.

When asked about U.S. President Donald Trump and others who have mocked her, the 16-year-old activist said they likely feel their world view and interests are being threatened by climate activism.

"We've become too loud for people to handle so people want to silence us," she said at a rally in Montreal after meeting Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. "We should also take that as a compliment."

If possible, never schedule a hospital procedure in July - that's when the new batch of interns start. Learned that the hard way. 427 >>Was this an autocorrect from Ukrainian or am I missing something?

The 2014 revolution in Ukraine was called the Euromaidan Revolution.

In 2014, the west was in a battle with Putin for control of Ukraine. We helped stage the revolution as a popular uprising when in fact it was the result of western pressure, largely American, with tens of millions of dollars poured into NGO by most notably George Soros.

Not a conspiracy theory. This really happened. And when it was over we installed and controlled the new government.

The Russia collusion hoax was largely concocted in Ukraine and a lot of the same players right down to John McCain, Christopher Steele and a host of others were involved with both.
