272 The Democrat "platform" has become so far out left (as Rush said, they've broken the covenant) that I have to wonder what do they know that we dont? Are they so sure that demographically speaking the conservative side is so badly outnumbered that we are done? What am I missing? I find their extreme pandering to the crazy left worrisome.

96 Thanks Ben! They don't grasp the complexity of the things I do. I'm not trying to sound all important but the agency would literally crumble without me. I keep it running behind the scenes. I'm the only accountant and I'm the cfo. I also do all the compliance reporting to the governors office, comptroller, AG, legislature, etc. it's a tiny agency so it would not harm the state if it collapsed but it would harm the people working there and the industry would suffer.

This is my belief, too. So, like everything the gov't touches, regulatory intervention (short of outright outlawing) won't fix the anything.

Was listening to WAAV in the mornings so I can keep up on what "conservative" Millennials think feel these days and Tyler had on a guest that was involved with this vaping matter...

After hearing many of the arguments and dynamic analysis (e.g. if you ban this people will turn to doing ___ or will black market ____)

In summary, what the government wants to do will inevitably rack up the body count.

The push behind killing the vaping industry is to kill the vaping industry, not to "save lives" or permit less dangerous alternatives.

If government passes just enough laws, we can make improvements even on Heaven.

217 The reason you're seeing such sudden pressure against vaping is because of graft paid by marijuana interests to politicians. Yes, the recent hype stories of vaping disasters were the result of people trying to vape pot derivative, not Blu cigs. Just like Big Tobacco did, Big Pot is forming and it doesn't want competition of any kind. That's why you see the same grifter politicians want pot legalized, but want vaping severely restricted are outlawed. They're being paid to kill market competition.

I still think the pharmaceutical industry has a hand in this. I haven't seen any numbers, but I'll bet that sales of nicotine gum and patches have taken a beating since vaping came along.

Some time ago I saw a cancer prevention event at a hospital. The exhibits all said that vaping was dangerous, and if you want to quit smoking, gum and patches are the only way to go. This was about a year ago, before the recent hysteria. It sounds orchestrated to me.

Hell, if "saving lives" and "public health" were the real issues, the government would be offering subsidies to smokers to get them to switch to vaping.
