Mollie Hemingway and Carrie Severino Scoop: Christine Blasey Ford's Father Privately Supported Brett Kavanaught's Confirmation

The duo note the very weak and vague statement the father made on behalf of his daughter with the indelible hippocampus -- a strange and salient fact in and of itself.

Then they get to the scoop:

[I]t appears the Blasey family had significant doubts about what Ford was trying to accomplish by coming forward and making unsubstantiated allegations against Brett Kavanaugh. Within days of Kavanaugh's confirmation to the Supreme Court, a fascinating encounter took place. Brett Kavanaugh's father was approached by Ford’s father at the golf club where they are both members.

Ralph Blasey, Ford’s father, went out of his way to offer to Ed Kavanaugh his support of Brett Kavanaugh's confirmation to the Supreme Court, according to multiple people familiar with the conversation that took place at Burning Tree Club in Bethesda, Maryland. "I'm glad Brett was confirmed," Ralph Blasey told Ed Kavanaugh, shaking his hand. Blasey added that the ordeal had been tough for both families.

There's more -- other friends and family members have apologized for Blasey-Ford.

These are not the actions of people who have reason to believe their daughter's allegations.

As Dave Chappelle said of black people who allegedly didn't support Mr. Juicy Smollier -- "We did support him -- with our silence. See, what we understood was that this n***** was clearly lying."

And actually, that brings up a good point:

Has any part of Blasey-Ford's claims stood up any more than Jussie Smollett's?

At least Smollett knew the time and place of his alleged attack! Blasey-Ford has guessed this year or that and even allowing her the margin of error of plus or minus two years, she still can't find anyone who says she was physically present with Brett Kavanaugh at a party.

But people don't lie about these things, right?

With the tiny exception of those who make bogus allegations for personal gain and political motivations.

31 You wish Ford's father would have been more public about his doubts at the time; BUT I understand the position he was in, having been in a similar position myself a couple of times. You *think* someone is lying, you can tell a couple people privately that you think they're lying, but you don't have any hard evidence that you can point to that actually *proves* they're lying. So what do you do? Commit the same wrong they are doing by publicly making claims that you know you can't back up? It's a shitty situation to find yourself in.

I was thinking about Ford and oh right, because Stormy's story about her unwitting seduction by trump follows the same thing, "I uh was somewhere and trump appeared and uh we had sex and then I uh dis-apparated and I forgot about it until now."

Ford's lies are even worse because she got the wrong half of the decade in her first version of teh accusations.

But now, as is tradition, Ford is a lefty celebrity and if you disagree you are anti-victim or something.

85 A teenage boy tried to feel up a teenage girl? And?

Yeah that was the crazy part. And I think that kind of resonated with everyone but the true believers: yeah well he was a teenage boy with a teenage girl in a room, even if you're telling the truth, you thought that was outrageous and unusual??

But the whole story was so bizarre, her little girl antics and sneering looks were so blatant, none of it added up. And that was their star witness?

Posted by: Christopher R Taylor at September 12, 2019 01:30 PM (KZzsI)

There's a legal reason, and it points out the real fault here - Blasey is a sad attention seeker, but it was the Senate Democrats who were the architects of this fiasco.

First the reason you can never prove she was lying - the story was to hazy to ever confirm, or even investigate. Didn't know when, didn't know where? No Witnesses? And it's just a he-said, she-said story? You can NEVER "prove" anything one way or the other about a story like that, not that it's true, not that it's a lie - nothing. As the saying goes, the story was too stupid to even be wrong.

But where is the real fault? A story this idiotic should have been laughed at the instant it was first uttered, and any responsible human being should have immediately discounted it and realized that it could *never* be used as the basis for anything. The Fault lies in the Senate Democrats who take an insane loon with bad dreams and turned it into "Allegations of Misconduct". What they did was quite literally exactly what the Salem Witch Trials did. THAT is who needs to shoulder all the responsibility for what took place. The Witch Hunters, not the sad, deluded mental patient that they talked into supporting their scheme.

LOL, 90's they tried to do that when we were on our way to the Portland Rose Festival, on a US Navy Destroyer.

We manned the fire hoses, and never even slowed down.

Was funny watching them suddenly shimmying back UP their ropes, when they realized we were not going to stop, were they were promptly arrested.

So then, they were going to try to throw paint on the ship from Jetski's.

2.5 inch firehose, vs Jetski, guess which wins.

It was misty and cold out, and Men were still fighting over who got to man the hose.

I always felt that way about Anita Hill's accusations too. She said Clarence Thomas joked about a pubic hair on a coke can, and talked about porn in the office. So what? It was decades ago, when standards about what could be said were a lot different. She never claimed that he touched her inappropriately, or threatened her job if she didn't date him or anything like that. Just ribald office talk that made her uncomfortable, but that she never objected to. Even if her story was true (and there's plenty of reason to believe that it's not), it was still a big friggin' deal about nothing, IMO.

---
Yes, and I think that is part of what keeps races at a tension. They "supported" him by their silence, by looking the other way, when he was "clearly lying".

Those of us who have learned to take the brunt of the "racist" label with a minor flinch could also see that he was clearly lying. But People of European Descent (PEDs) who suffer from "white guilt" couldn't then call him a liar, unless they risked the "racism" of calling a black man claiming to be a victim a liar.

And so they chose the easy way out and very likely demanded that it was racist to think that Juicy set up a hoax.

However, a good effect of this, perhaps would be to steel people into venturing into that questionable territory where you might be called a racist, for those that can take the lesson.

But the result is a potential increase of behavior that is labeled "racist" and the SPLC can put more black marks around, and federal, state and local governments can take actions based on the SPLC blacklist--just like the Michigan SoS wanted to do.

When it would be far easier for everybody when you see somebody of your race "clearly lying", call them out.

I just thought of something Carpe Donktum could have done with that. Ever see a movie with Nicole Kidman called The Others? She's a neurotic mess who thinks she's living in a haunted house so she NEVER EVER is in a room with unlocked doors on both sides. That is, if she's in Room A and she wants to go to Room C but Room B is in between, she hauls up this giant bunch of keys, unlocks the door to Room B, goes into Room B, immediately turns around and locks the door that leads back into Room A, crosses to the opposite door (to Room C) and fishes up another key to unlock that door, goes through it, and as soon as she's in Room C she re-locks the door that leads back to Room B.

It would have been hilarious to put Ford's face on Kidman's and watch her go through that routine.

ATT sucks.

indeed. been with directv since the early '90s. as y'all know, i got earthquaked out of the trailer and had to move to an apartment. since the directv box was trapped in the trailer i wasn't allowed to enter, i gave mrs. chronda permission to upgrade to hd while we were at it. so we got one of those genie thingies.

didn't get as many local channels as we got on the sd box. don't get the el rey network anymore, so i can't take advantage of five finger eight pole shaolin exploding death touch thursday what happens on sunday these days.

and within a week of starting up with the new box, *all* local channels went away, because att is arguing with the networks. still don't have any of them back.

except for a couple of oddities. we don't get the local cw feed anymore because of the dispute, but we *do* get a western national feed which just happens to be (ta-da!) the local cw station. good going, att.
i could go on.

What makes McCabe such an easy target is that there are now sworn, written statements from James Comey, no less, that McCabe lied under oath, several times. Comey had to say that, of course, to protect himself, but that puts McCabe in a very bad spot.

@Liz_Cheney

Hi @RandPaul I know the 2016 race was painful for you since you were such a big loser (then & now) with a dismal 4.5% in Iowa. No surprise since your motto seems to be "Terrorists First, America Second."

interesting: the USCG seems to be hinting that something related to charging Li-Ion batteries was responsible for the dive boat burning down.

At interest: an old friend of mine died on that boat.
