20 Good Morning Morons today is Saturday, September 7, 2019. On this date in 70 AD a Roman army under Titus occupied and plundered Jerusalem. Some speculate that the Ark of the Covenant was spirited away following this raid. But Jewish scholars still say it was spirited away during an invasion previously by the Babylonians. Indeed there are hundreds of theories on what ultimately happened to the Ark.

ME is becoming the first State in the Union to go to a system of 'ranked voting'.

...... under the ranked voting system, voters categorize a crowded field of candidates from favorite to least favorite. If a candidate fails to win the majority of votes, the last-place finisher is eliminated and the second-choice votes of everyone who ranked that candidate first are allocated until someone receives more than 50 percent.

We all know that in every Federal election there are a number of low values candidates who manage enough votes to get on the ballot but have no chance what so-ever of getting a significant number of votes because the number of votes needed to get on the ballot is too low. I have always advocated a series of runoffs to eliminate the bottom also-rans and leave the top two.

At this point I would fire everyone and have them prove to me why they should be rehired. Trump said he was going to drain the swamp. Oddly enough, one of the suspects was stopped in April of this year and issued multiple traffic citations, and released on a $1,000.00 Personal Recognizance Bond.

Failed to appear for court, and forfeited the bond.
And had his license suspended,

All while being in the country illegally.

Perhaps releasing illegal immigrants on their own recognizance isn't such a good judicial decision.

And now, a guy has been hacked and stabbed to death.
By folk who weren't even supposed to be in the country.

And Baltimore Counties policies, supported by the County Executive are what allowed one of the suspects to remain free to kill.

197 walmart in particular should be ashamed. They have been pilloried by the LEFT for many decades over politics, being from the South, wages, etc. And now they they strut their virtue signaling like a third tier Demo candidates with nothing left to lose.

It would be right and proper if every red state small town boycotted the place. It is not like you can't live without Chinese crap meant to last 6 months. But in the end, they will not. it is what it is .

i know I will never step foot in a Walmart again. It is not that they made a choice, it is that they new they were telling me to F off and 60 percent of their customers. They think so little of us that they know most wont' care or do a thing. It is the professional left that would never step foot in a wal mart that matters to them.

And not to be a jerk, but walmart is from Arkansas. Nah, I am going to let that one go. Sorry for mentioning it. But Sams Club is a bloody joke compared to Costco. Walmart sucks and dollar stores like Dollar General and Dollar Tree are killing them on the low end. In fact, I would rather to to a dollar store than the Chinese outlet from Arkansas called WAmmart.

BTW, Sam Walton, your book sucked. Hell, Trump's book "the art of the deal" crushed yours.

200 We had a big ass armadillo dig a big ass hole right next to the house.I found the hole and looked down in there with a flashlight and it looked like some kind of kaiju was in there. Once the dogs found out about it they went berserk. I was finally able to dig it out and pull it out by the tail. The dogs had some fun chasing it around until it shuffled off into the woods. That hole was several feet deep, and headed up under the foundation. Why it decided to burrow there In don't know. They see to be pretty stupid.

the Walmart deal is really off-pissing in re ammo

other than big bulk buys, I've been buying ammo from Walmart forever. Often, it was a better cost per round than ordering on-line

plus, the state DNR gets a cut of ammo sales at brick & mortar stores. There are some absolutely fabulous, free DNR ranges scattered about the state & I like to support them. I haven't paid for range time in years. I think it's the bestest example of my tax dollars at work (they sure as hell aren't maintaining the roads)

Yeah, I can be at the ginormous Cabela's in less than 25 minuted door to door, but they ain't exactly know for deep discounts or low prices.

205 anyone who brings an ar into a store to prove he has the right, is i a jagoff. I realize some open carry because they don't believe in licenses etc. Some say they can not afford to pay for a ccw license. I think for the most part this is bullshit.

Open carry is a thing in many places. "You have it in Alaska, Vermont and Virginia. They have it in Texas but it is new there, and much older in Virginia. In fact, open carry was never banned in VA so it was ALWAYS legal. That might sound strange to those from blue states where everything is illegal but grift, but it is the way it is or was.

But I am calling an audible here. In my opinion, there are some who are not protecting rights but making asses of themselves. I understand some want to open carry for whatever reason and i respect that. But those who go to public places to cause a stir and rile folks up are to me 2a opponents. They are people who's lives are so boring that they need to f with others. No, you are not helping when you are riling people up and getting them excited to take away our rights. I have a better idea. Get a CCW, and then get over yourself.

I have never seen a Meijer and a Walmart in the same area - serving generally the same demographic - where the Meijer wasn't a more pleasant place to be in every way. Cleaner, better-lit, people who looked like they had some sense of dignity and decorum.

The last time I was at Meijer (Bath twp, after Rose Lake last weekend), I was amazed at all the people who had dressed up to go to Meijer. Older couples in suits and dresses, families with even the kids wearing formal clothes, and all the kids well-behaved.

Then I realized it was just after noon on Sunday. BUT STILL.

that is true. Many old west towns called for people to turn in their weapons. I personally don't believe a man should ever be required to turn in his weapon. A man has a right to defend himself and those around him if the case may be.
But the weirdos who bring AR type rifles (and yes, I know what it means) to stores to cause a fuss are 2 A opponents. They are newbies and think they are helping. The problem is they are NOT helping. ANd if someone who carries a gun legally thinks of his gun that much, he is someone to be wondered about.
Yes, anyone who CCW's should be aware of the firearm. It is like your keys, your phone, etc. But someone who thinks about it all the time and wants to make political splash is a poseur. I don't like to give personal info because i dont' trust the net and see how many are crushed over a comment. But

But I have carried for over 20 years and never has it crossed my mind to clear leather on a man. it is the newbies that you have to watch. "I don't think they have ill intent, but they are new. It takes time to realize your weapon is just like your phone, watch, or billfold, You don't leave home without it. But those who are hypersensitive to carrying and talk about how many times they had to draw down. Those guys might need to rethink their lives and what this whole thing is about.

So far, the only thing I'm missing from Walmart is the produce. Here,
we're close to corporate hq, so the stores are run a little better, and
the produce sections are great. Having said that, the goober selling
stuff out of the back of the pickup on highway 22 has pretty good stuff.
Also, Walmart was pretty quick to put out a clarification of statement
( same anti 2A stuff worded different). I'm sure they have day to day
bean counters, and maybe they noticed they may have committed an oopsie.

I respect you defending them here. I would likely do the same in your shoes. i personally dont' think they will pay much of a price. Hey conservative normals, prove me wrong!
But this company got bashed constantly for decades,. I doubt 90 percent of the people even know the thing started in Arkansas. This is a virtue signalling Wall Street company now. They realize the small towns are captive audiences and the big towns have customers that just don't give a shite.

The only way these people get taken down is if small towns reverse history and support their main streets. To hell with wal mart and their china \crap. How about shopping with your local business, with the people you grew up with>? Bueller? That is what I don't get about small town America. They made a choice, and they chose sam walton and china crap over their own town mates. I will never get that. My difference with Trump is we should not need tariffs/. people should support their own and better products by default. But they don't.

262 We have open carry but only rarely have I seen any one openly carry in a non-official capacity. I actually can't remember the last time... last years TxMoMe, maybe. I was for it because it eliminated the issue of "imprinting". Since I'm a height challenged person, it was impossible for me to CC without imprinting unless I dressed like a bag lady. It's not obvious unless you know what to look for but imprinting use to be a reason for revoking a LTC in Texas.

263 > From what i saw Bush I was forced on RR by the RNC

I want to live on the alternate timeline where Reagan was succeeded by Jeane Kirkpatrick or Thomas Sowell.

Preferably both, consecutively.

We have constitutional carry here in Alaska. Very, very rarely do I see someone open carrying in the city (lots of people open carry .44 magnums or similar while in the bush, to discourage bears, moose, and the like).

Concealed? It's everywhere.

265 It was odd that Texas had so much of an issue with it. What was the name? 4063 or something. Many Texas businesses banned ccw as soon as it came out. And open carry is a recent thing in Texas. Many states had it for decades before Tejas.
I am not criticizing Texas, it is just history. What gauls me is that if we lose that state, conservatives are done for. I think about now Abbot et al are done asking Californios to move in. It seems the mega cities Texas is so proud of are planing to take the place over. For Texans like me, it was cool to say we had three or four of the larges cities in the nation. Now it seems like a burden.
