I went to law school with a woman who was light skinned black and willowy which is not me politely saying skinny as a rail, I mean naturally thin but nicely so (okay what I'm trying to say is that she had at least some boobs) and also nice as good be.
The stuff that I heard other black women saying about her, and, specifically, what her parentage must have been was hair raisingly vicious. Lots of cream in that coffee was the kindest by far.
She shrugged it all off with "My mother told me that if people were so low as to try to drag you down there with them, you didn't have any obligation to let them."
She got her best revenge by being nice and being smart and being lovely and gracious and, oh, yeah, getting a fantastic job and then leaving after a few years to start her own firm and being very successful with that.

As someone whose entire metabolism comes from the pharmacy (fuck you back, thyroid!), I am keenly aware of the different ways that different people process the same meal.
The Good Ex Boyfriend had major problems keeping weight on him. I could eat half of what he did and gain two pounds. He could blast through an entire 9 x 13 pan of lasagna and I swear you would see him losing weight from the calorie loss from eating. It was maddening. Also, frankly, frightening because he was prone to health issues from being too thin. As I said, extremes at either end are not good.

mine got a little too much back during my long fast a few months ago. I was vaping a lot because it helped dull the appetite and felt like I was "consuming" something.

See, I just assumed it was people getting infections from using something that has water going through it and not cleaning it properly and mold is bad, m'kay.
I get very cranky about the anti-vaping stuff because my brother was nearly a two packs a day smoker and vaping is the only thing that got him to quit and he managed to taper off nearly completely from the vaping.
I consider it nigh to a miracle.
I don't know what I think about the micro dosing mushrooms or LSD. I know it's faddish and blah blah blah but humanity has been chasing mind expansion back to the hey lick this toad days.

I'm honestly more open to the idea of trying psychedelics than I am pot, because I've met enough potheads to be turned off by the thought of becoming one of them.
I've read some stuff here and there suggesting that mushrooms might be useful for PTSD, alcoholism, and a few other disorders. They basically reset the brain.

I wasn't aware of this fad. BUt I can say from (long) past experience - if you're going through bad, sustained anxiety attacks, getting blasted on a bag of good mushrooms will clear your head right up, and for awhile. It helps you sort out your shit.
So maybe it's an attempt at medicating anxiety/depression.

Actually, pretty interesting stuff in this area. They're finding that the same brain conditions that cause depression are fundamentally reset by psylocibin, and you don't need to take enough to actually generate a "trip." Huge medical interest in this at the moment, and it's fascinating that a fungus may be the great unlock to the underlying chemical causes of depression.

Word of advice here, man.
If you're gonna fuck around with psychedelics, don't go there, at least for awhile.
A few reasons:
1.) The trip is WAY longer than mushrooms.
2.) The trip is WAY more intense.
3.) Mushrooms are much more kind to you - acid can take you to some dark places, and this doesn't happen with mushrooms, unless you go ridiculously overboard.
4.) LSD is difficult and expensive to produce. As a result, people will cut it with some really nasty shit, like strychnine, which causes it to hit harder.
5.) Hippies have a corner on the market, and hippies suck. You can buy mushrooms from hillbillies.

All of them either fat or transsexual, all of them full of plans on what to do with their "platform." Also a story on disabled models (same plans and platforms, of course).
There's a whole article to be written on models just making clothes look good. Yes, industries evolve, but surely there's a place in fashion for the traditional concept of models, the concept that gives us the word "model" for the people who wear the clothes in shows and ads.

alcohol isn't good for me. I mean, I don't have much of a positive reaction. I just feel the depressive effect. One drink makes me a little looser and relaxed but that's as far as I can usually go without an unwelcome impairment that I'm very aware of.
Nicotine keeps me alert and stuff but I'm used to that already.

I made that discovery a couple of years ago in a situation where I was on-duty 24/7 and had to sleep light in case of emergency and I was only getting about 4 hours of sleep a night for weeks on end. Not new mother child care, but something similar. (And shout-out to anyone who was ever a new mom.)
One day, instead of making the umpteenth pot of headache-inducing coffee, I rummaged through the liquor cabinet and poured myself a drink.
WOW. Headache - gone. Stress - gone. Fatigue - gone. I was able to get a few things done.
