Interests rates are relatively low.

Home prices while up are not insane compared to the aughts.

Yes the President is rankling trading partners but it's not like they are going to take their balls to some other market, there is none to go to.

So the way I see it Trump should have a good to very good economy unless some sector unexpectedly blows up and takes the house with it.

That or the Donks, GOPe and or the FED contrive a crisis that crashes the economy, which isn't outside the realm of possibilities.

62 Supercut: Watch as the Media Attempts A Mass-Ritual to Conjure a Recession Into Reality

Trump is doing everything he can to spur growth in the economy - versus the commie dems who do everything they can to stagnate the economy, because stagnation, stink and death is their milieu. But, sadly, there is a hard reality that this economy has been on a road to death and destruction for a long time. They sealed the fate of this economy - and worse, the dollar - by 2012, when they went well past the point of no-return. The dollar is going to implode in the biggest supernova mankind has ever witnessed. It's going to be big, nasty and leave nothing in its wake. That's a fact and it's due to the lunatic policies of Barky, all the leftists, and the asshole GOP Congress that greenlighted all of the insane spending and money printing policies. Trump is doing what he can but our fate was sealed some time ago. It's just a matter of "when".

Yeah, when people start dumping their ocean front property, that'll be the day.

If the polar caps ACTUALLY melted, the ocean rise would not be that much, because in the case of the North Pole, the ice displaces about as much volume as the water would

A lot of Antarctica is actually a frozen desert. Parts do NOT have that thick and ice/snow sheet.

There was actually a period in the late 1920's when a large part of the polar ice cap did melt, and even during winter, the area around the Scandinavian countries (Sweden and Norway) was ice free.

This is so much gobbledegook.

That has nothing to do with the fact that Barky, the Fed and the GOP dipshits destroyed the dollar in their mad attempt to just buy time and keep a paltry economy creeping forward.

The utility of a fiat currency, though certainly dependent on public trust, has a lot more going on than public trust. THere is till the very real supply and demand issues.

They were "broke" because she had expensive spending habits and they ran up credit card purchases like the brain-dead yuppie wannabes they were.

I recall reading an article about her before the won in 2008, and it said she had a large collection of Jimmy Choo shoes and diamond jewelry. She was getting paid over $300k a year for her made-up job at the U of Chicago hospital, and Barky had a senate salary and perks (so close to half a mill annually), and they still couldn't pay their bills and live responsibly.

They were, and still are, ridiculous people.

You gotta be careful of the crises you create. Emergencies are when authoritarians shine. Assuming housing investors were truly mental and malevolent enough to "mysteriously" flood the market with housing surplus, a guy like Trump would happily just seize the homes, pen executive regulations where more then four homes were no longer permitted to be held, etc.

The man does not let crises go to waste.

Don't confuse the economy with Wall St.

The stock market is not the economy. It's counter intuitive but sometimes a weakening economy leads to highr stock prices on the belief that weaker economy = lower interest rates and lower labor costs.

6% are still historically low, low mortgage rates. Very low. 254 221 Tim Pool, the other day, talked about Trump Derangement Syndrome:

"Orange Man Bad? Sure... but he's not that bad."

He also complained that all the derangement keeps forcing him to talk about Trump all the time. When he sees dumb and crazy stuff he wants to call it out, and then people accuse him of liking Trump.

Tim actually got tripped up for a moment the other day when talking about how much he supports a Big Government Welfare State, almost as if he realized deep inside that what he wants just isn't ever going to be feasible.

That he knows the truth, but had to think about it for a second before deciding to consciously choose to keep deluding himself.

I used to think people weren't quite right when they say "Tim Pool has a mouth full of red pills, but he refuses to swallow", but that video definitely made it look like he's at least got one in his hand that he looks at from time to time.

I doubt he'll ever cross over, but it seems like maybe SOMEONE could get through to him if all the stars align.

The cost of carrying a mortgage at a normal 7% rate is about twice that of a 3.5% mortgage. If you are only putting 10% down (and many are putting even less) than almost the entire service cost of the property is in the interest rate.

This ain't rocket surgery. Interest rates this low (historically low, you know - really historically low) should have housing prices (in a normal market) through the friggin roof.

296 "Real estate prices are highly dependent on interest rates."

Real property in general is dependent on interest - expansion at a large level - say, 75M to 100M per plant or infrastructure add on, depends on the rate you can get vs the need. Decisions that are on the fence, could go either way, get cut if the rate is too high for the risk. Private, non-commercial Real estate has a quirk, if the location is too desirable and you'll be shut out, it can trigger impulse buying that is non-responsive to interest pressures.

Beto O'Rourke@BetoORourke
At a gun show, a seller told me we need better background checks. An owner of an AK-47 told me he'd do anything to keep his kids safe. A Trump supporter told me he's open to buybacks. We need to stop writing one another off - because only together can we end this epidemic.

339 Look:

3% interest on $1,000,000 is $30,000/yr. $2,500/mth

6% interest on $1,000,000 is $60,000/yr. $5,000/mth

If someone can afford to pay $5000/mth then at 3% he can get a $2,000,000 house. At 6% he can only get a $1,000,000 house (assuming 100% mortgage, as many are close to, anyway).

Taxes and insurance and the other crap are minimal compared to these costs. You want to quibble over whether he is in the market for only a $1.8 million house at 3% versus $1 million at 6%? Okay, quibble away. But it's ballpark TWICE as much.

Sheesh.

379 This ain't rocket surgery. Interest rates this low (historically low,
you know - really historically low) should have housing prices (in a
normal market) through the friggin roof.

In the last 20 years or so, one of the upward pressures on housing prices was house flippers. I think a lot of nicer developments have decided they don't like house flippers and have taken steps to make sure buyers are going to live there for some time.

When my wife and I bought, we had to agree to keep our house as our primary residence for a full year.

I imagine this might be one of the things keeping housing prices down.

Click track was a fact of life.
But don't take my word for it.

There are iphone apps that measure tempo. They are cheap, like five bucks or less.
You can play a SD track the app will show the beats per minute.
Now fast forward 3 minutes in to the track.
Zero variance. Absolutely none. Not even a tenth of a beat.
That is not an accident.

384 For every solo you hear on a SD track, there were dozens that were trashed. Even some really good solos.
The sax solo on Deacon Blues for example. They must have brought in a dozen sidemen to play on that, including some guys I have tremendous respect for.
They settled on Pete Christlieb, who had just "retired" from the Carson Tonight show band.

By comparison, commercial space in Manhattan in the top areas go for $85/90 per square foot for rent/yr - ten year lease cost without rent tax on a 10K sq ft office (unfinished) would run ~$7M - $9M

386 well when you raise interest rates from 1 to 2 percent the bond holder suffers a 100% increase in repayment. A $100 bond becomes a $200 bond. The repayment on a bond is mostly interest. Taking huge amounts of money out of an economy hurts. PT is right. He knows the score. The stock market value hurts no one (middle/lower earnings) the stock market earnings matter to savers. Pensions etc. It eventually becomes a matter of moving the burden from the young to the old or vice versa.

388 "well when you raise interest rates from 1 to 2 percent the bond holder suffers a 100% increase in repayment."

I think you might mean the bond "holder" suffers when an increase in interest happens only after he purchased his bonds and he holds coupons on a lesser rate, ie he could have put his $$ to work somewhere else but he lost out.

The bond "issuer" is happy, he can put excess cash to work at a higher rate than the issued bonds that helps his repayment of the coupon.

Chief recurring villain in the videos was a big fat white supervisor who kept chewing out the employees, including one Latina who was talking in Spanish on her phone in the office (part of her job was taking phone calls from customers.)

In the last video, an intrepid caucasian white-knighted for the Latina and showed her a photo of Angry Fat White Supervisor at some rally with his fist raised. In the background behind the supervisor was a sign that read "No to Amnesty." "He's at an anti-immigrant rally," they said. "No wonder he doesn't want anyone speaking Spanish."
