The Tears of Tliab

The woman who pretended she wanted to see her "sity" and then said "How dare you condition my visit with my sity on my not meeting with terrorist-supporting groups" now has some new tears to sprinkle on the moist media.

This time, she's complaining that Israeli's attempt to stop the smuggling of Palestinian bombs into Israel was "dehumanizing."

So dehumanizing, in fact, that she cries about it, thinking about all those Israeli pizza shop diners who could have been murdered by one of her cousins' bombs.

Donald Trump took to twitter to express solidarity with this terrorist:

Donald J. Trump
@realdonaldtrump

Sorry, I don't buy Rep. Tlaib's tears. I have watched her violence, craziness and, most importantly, WORDS, for far too long. Now tears? She hates Israel and all Jewish people. She is an anti-Semite. She and her 3 friends are the new face of the Democrat Party. Live with it!

Meanwhile, Terrorist Number One opined that Israel is not an ally because it excluded them from entering the country. As it excludes many terrorists.

Which is dehumanizing.

Omar said she and Tlaib were "being denied the right to see for ourselves the reality on the ground in the West Bank" and the ban was "nothing less than an attempt by an ally of the United States to suppress our ability to do our jobs as elected officials."

"We give Israel more than $3 million in aid every year," she said. "This is predicated on they're being an important ally in the region and the 'only democracy' in the Middle East," making air quotes with her fingers.

"But denying a visit to duly elected members of Congress is not consistent with being an ally, and denying millions of people freedom of movement or expression or self-determination is not consistent with being a democracy," she said.

Studies have shown that something like 70% of Palestinians are descended from incestuous relationships. The entire culture there is essentially based in incest -- cousin marriage is not just allowed, it is EXPECTED and encouraged. At this point, the intertwining family connections in Palestine are so enmeshed that basically everyone is everyone else;s half-sibling of cousin or uncle of niece or whatever. If a Palestinian marries another Palestinian, it's almost guaranteed to be incestuous or semi-incestuous, because by now the tribe is essentially one giant extended family.

I worked with someone who was a Christian Arab. They would describe going to relatives funerals that included "paid wailers". When I asked what that was, it was explained that a group of women were professional wailers. They were paid to come to funerals to run up to the casket, howling, crying hysterically, "No more Said, no more Mohammed' for a period of time, would be comforted and then would leave. It's a gig that helps pay the bills, I guess and quite common at Arab funerals.

212 Mmmmmaybe we need a new perspective.

The left talks about Palestinian rights. OK. Let's talk about rights, but lets also have enough respect for the Palestinians to acknowledge each of their identity individuals, rather than just members of a group called "Palestinians"

What sort of rights should an individual identified as a Palestinian have?

How about...and stick with me here...How about the right to be governed by a competent, non-crazy organization, instead of Hamas or Fatah? Really? Those are the only two available choices? Couldn't we round up the clown circus that is the Democratic Party Primary, and say "Here, have Palestine. Govern THAT. You are in charge now." It's not like the Democrats have any chance at 2020, and -- and this is damningly faint praise -- Any of the Democratic Party candidates, while ludicruously unfit for power here, would be light-years above Hamas or Fatah.

How about...the right to be able to disassociate themselves from crazy, violent, suicidal neighbors? There must be SOME reasonably sized subset of individuals that are NOT entirely on board with the "Kill Jooos and Americans at all costs" mentality. Don't the members of that subset have a basic, fundamental right to be able to a) escape from the crazies or (even better) b) make the crazies leave them alone? Maybe repartition Gaza into the "Violent Clown" and "reasonably normal " sections?

Trump was faced after the election during the transition with filling a bunch of positions, dealing with the GOPe, the never Trumpers, the Democrat's screaming that he won by fraud, a CIA and FBI that were immediately trying to get him arrested as a spy and conspirator with Russia, riots by the screaming Hillary voters, on and on. The entire first four months of the Trump administration was just Trump throwing people into positions based on recommendations from other people thrown in positions. It wasn't until John Kelly came in that people started to get thrown out that were simply grifters, and Scaramucci was one of them. I'll never know why he was allowed to join the transition team and then get appts to high visibility positions. He was a Hillary supporter, disliked Trump and his appt. makes no sense.

226 Cruz has no finesse. Trump actually has a great deal of it, even though his critics claim he doesn't. Take the talk about a Gun Control bill, as the perfect example that's topical right now. Cruz would simply say "hell no, that's stupid, we're not doing it." Which of course would please us, but it would piss off everyone who isn't completely on our side, and after the issue was over, they would still remember that he pissed them off.

What Trump is doing on Gun Control is obvious, since he has run the same play over and over again on issue after issue. He says "oh yeah, I'll consider it, let's talk about it!" And then the Senate will get a committee together, and they'll talk about who will cater their lunches for the first month, and quickly public interest will fade, and then Trump will say "well if we're going to do this you have to tie it in with border security, and the Dems will say "hell no!" and then the whole thing will fall apart, and Trump will say "well you see, I tried, they wouldn't work with me." And people will forget the issue and simply remember "yeah, Trump tried to work with them, they turned him down." That's one of the keys to his appeal and to his style. That's finesse.

This is probably too "4d chess" for most, but I've read the hypothesis that Mooch's brief tenure in the White House was calculated to annoy Reince into resigning. Whoever it was I was reading called it a "perfectly executed maneuver." The idea was that Trump realized he was leaking like crazy, but firing him outright would offend too many people in the party organization. So you bring in the obnoxious guy.

240 OT: I just thought of a potential satirical book.

Take the kind of language used to describe the future now, and throw it back to the late 19th century.

"The death of the buggy whip industry is a pipe dream."

"Why steam cars are going to mark the end of horse drawn carriages forever."

242 What Trump is doing on Gun Control is obvious, since
he has run the same play over and over again on issue after issue. He
says "oh yeah, I'll consider it, let's talk about it!" And then the
Senate will get a committee together, and they'll talk about who will
cater their lunches for the first month, and quickly public interest
will fade, and then Trump will say "well if we're going to do this you
have to tie it in with border security, and the Dems will say "hell no!"
and then the whole thing will fall apart, and Trump will say "well you
see, I tried, they wouldn't work with me." And people will forget the
issue and simply remember "yeah, Trump tried to work with them, they
turned him down." That's one of the keys to his appeal and to his
style. That's finesse.

Every shot of the movie was perfection. So many little things to pick up on for repeated viewings. The scenery was amazing. I kept enjoying all the little callbacks to his own movies. Also there was a surprising ton of depth to what amounted to a simple story. Inch wide and a mile deep. So much about it I loved. Probably gonna see it again before it exits stage left.

Posted by: Curmudgeon at August 20, 2019 12:51 PM (ujg0T)

It's worth remembering that TX has its share of Dem voters, and that for the most part, the Dem candidates on offer are embarrassments.

Mr. O'Rourke is a VERY evil man, no doubt, and EVERY person I see driving down the road with a Beto sticker and anyone who cast a ballot for him are NOT VICTIMS of evil but rather cheerful accomplices - but he was the first Dem in a long time that TX Dems could support and not be embarrassed. Note how very poorly Lupe Valdez did in the gubernatorial election - she was the typical embarrassingly bad Dem candidate that the state party puts up time and time again.

Not to mention Mr. O'Rourke had the backing of lots of people who wanted that seat badly, and he still lost in spite of the money thrown at him.

-- Michael killed himself skiing into a tree after sleeping with the family babysitter for 4 years, starting when she was **14** and was caught stalking her (after the breakup)

-- RFK jr. had numerous affairs, then an ugly divorce, and then when his ex-wife committed suicide he refused to release her body to her parents (she hadn't updated her will)

The more I've read about Bobby, the more I realize that he was sadly just as much of a dick as the rest of his family.

One particular story that jumps out- during the Bay of Pigs invasion there were four pilots from the Arkansas National Guard who disregarded the order not to provide air support and ended up being KIA. Bobby personally intervened to ensure that their families would not receive military pensions or any answers about what happened to them. It was basically the original Benghazi.

Ha! Mineral Wells, movie stars and the rich and famous used to go there for the healing baths.

Meh. My well water has more minerals than that; it's harder than chinese algebra. I use a revers-osmosis filter to render it drinkable.

388 he Prince has read his Macchievelli. He knows that "make the people love me" is not nearly as effective as "Kill all of my enemies in gruesome ways".

Would you rather be feared or loved?

Of course, the leader would rather be loved, but Machiavelli understood that people love at their pleasure but people fear at the pleasure of the prince.

So while being loved is preferable, if you have to choose, it is best to be feared.

389 I would like little Ms. Terrorist Tlaib to name me any other democracies in the Middle East (or in any truly Muslim country from that matter), since she's so derisive of Israel, where there are elections and muslim members of Knesset and on the Israeli Supreme Court.

390 The ululating during sex is especially off-putting.

That's why I stay outside in the garden, so I don't have to listen to that.

391 Thank you, Emmie. I'm not so sure about God, but I'm pretty sure about y'all. Except that guy over there. Yeah, you over there. You know who you are.
