The teachers, all members of the Chicago Teachers Union, wrote public blogs and social media posts casting the socialist government of the country in a favorable light. Now out of the hospital, he told NPR that he suspects his illness was linked to the THC oil. "The oil in the cartridge was really watered down. And it was pee-colored, it wasn't supposed to be that color, it's supposed to be dark amber," he said. He cautioned other people who vape THC: "If you are going to smoke, just stick to the dispensaries. Don't buy stuff off the street where you don't know where it's coming from."

Ada Keating, a 98-year-old mother of four, recently moved into a care home in Huyton, Liverpool, not because she couldn’t take care of herself, but to look after her 80-year-old son Tom.
Tom Keating became a resident of the Moss View retirement home in 2016, when it became clear that he was no longer able to care for himself. His mother Ada joined him after about a year, when it became apparent that he would require additional support. The mother and son, originally from Wavertree, share a special bond, as Tom never married and had always lived with Ada. Tom was a painter and decorator at HE Simm building services before his retirement, while Ada was an auxiliary nurse at the former Mill Road Hospital. They lived together in the family home for most of their lives, and now do so again, in a retirement home.

This would actually not be the case for most of the area my utility covers. We could man the substations and use radios to coordinate with the operations center. It would be difficult and expensive - since the people at the subs would be making IBEW overtime - but it's possible. Tracing and repairing outages would be rough.

My wife's family has a picture that we just call "The Hand", it's of her when she's about 5. Her family was at Yellowstone, and her 11 year old sister had a brownie camera, and had her little sister pose and smile about 10' in front of a bear that had wandered into the campsite.
Coming down from the top of the scene is a very blurred image of a hand coming down, very fast, to yank that girl out of there. One of the parents had just noticed what was going on.

I mean, I don't like it to be a freezer in my place during the summer, and I prefer to sleep with the windows open when I can, but 77 is about the warmest I can have it at night this time of year.
I don't see how anyone could sleep if it was 82 degrees inside. The AC in my apartment once broke down a few Augusts back, and even with the ceiling fan going full blast, I literally got woken up with the heat. No. Thank. You.

He got the permit and was allowed to take a bear. So he goes out, and finds a bear, and shoots it with his compound hunting bow. Boy was that bear mad. He chased him up a tree, and kept him up there for about 30 hours. The bear took off to hunt something down, and dragged it back and ate it at the bottom of the tree, all the time looking at my uncle's friend.
Finally, as he had been missing for a long time, Indian guides came out to look for him, with rifles.
Well they shot and killed the bear, so my uncle's friend could get down.
Is this a true story?

Anyway, the most pathetic zoo I've ever seen was at Uber Gatlinburg 10 yrs ago. I think there were 4 bears there in a concrete pit like an empty inground pool. No habitat. Nothing. Just a bunch of bears in a concrete pit.
The write ups there seemed to be proud, and maybe they did other things to take care of them, but when I was there it was disgusting.

The Inupiat Eskimos, while technically Inuit, don't call themselves that. The Yupik Eskimos are a separate group with a different, though related, language (think French versus Italian). The Aleut language is also related, but more distantly.
But yeah, the Interior is chock full of Athabascans/Na Dene people. With very few exceptions, the Eskimos and Aleuts are coastal peoples.

After that night, she got a little sign made up that had that Euroweenie circle/slash-through-it sign thingy over the name and put it right next to the stage where everybody could see it. She was dead serious about it.

Don't think the Canucks play their home games on an island. Downtown Vancouver is basically a peninsula. Vancouver Harbour on the north side, English Bay on the west, and False Creek on the south. False Creek would be described as a "bayou" by our friends in Louisiana. But there is a not-so-narrow neck of land between the head of False Creek and Vancouver Harbour. IIRC, the hockey arena is near Seymour Street and the Georgia Viaduct. A long time ago, there used to be a gasometer near there.

I personally think folks should work to live in temperatures closer to ambient. It saves you money and it means when the SHTF you're better adapted. But, I doubt most homes nowadays could even be comfortable at 80ish, given how little the a/c would run (a lot of places, but definitely not all) and the humidity would climb and a lot of things would have problems. And one of the big ones would be electronics. If you want to up the inside temperature by ~15F, you're going to have issues no matter what the specs say.

temperatures closer to ambient. It saves you money and it means when the
SHTF you're better adapted. But, I doubt most homes nowadays could even
be comfortable at 80ish, given how little the a/c would run (a lot of
places, but definitely not all) and the humidity would climb and a lot
of things would have problems. And one of the big ones would be
electronics. If you want to up the inside temperature by ~15F, you're
going to have issues no matter what the specs say.

Authorities have posted a video of their arrest of a 15-year-old Florida boy who allegedly posted an online threat to kill at least seven people at a high school.
The boy, whose name is not being used by The Associated Press, told investigators he was joking when he posted the message on Discord using the fake name Dalton Barnhart. In it, he vowed to bring his father's "M15" to Seabreeze High School in Daytona Beach and "kill seven people at a minimum."

Ran across a band from the Portland area, a band I actually met in Montana, in 1992-ish, was Love on Ice. They were good guys, and they seemed more edgy, more like Alice in Chains than Pearl Drops. Also got an Aerosmith vibe. I have Nude, which was the album they were promoting at the time. Damn good music. kind of sucks that they never got noticed by whatever fuck-nozzles make those kind of decisions.

I saw them at the Riviera in Chicago on the Nimrod tour. I was the oldest person in the audience. I still can't believe how tight they were: microsecond precision at whirlwind tempo. Unbelievable stamina.
They had a bunch of fun with the audience, brought a random kid up on stage to play guitar on one song, who did great. Then they made him stage dive into the audience. Armstrong had everybody throw their shirts up to the stage, and he put all of them on, bulging like the Michelin Man. Dirnt had about ten new Fenders in the shipping cartons, wrecked them all at the end.
They got married, had kids, and were still able to keep up their breakneck performance ability. Now I never listen to the same track of music twice. Always seeking new stuff, never relistening to old stuff. Don't know what they're doing now. Wouldn't mind meeting them someday.

Got home, and engine would not shut off. WTF? Pulled out fuel pump relay, engine stopped. Disconnected battery. Found I had Park, Reverse, Neutral, Drive, and no more. Took covers off steering column. Nothing wrong there. Crawled under the vehicle, unbolted the shift lever from the manual valve shaft, flipped it over, and bolted it back on. That fixed it! Now I have all gear selector positions, and the ignition switch goes to "off" and the key comes out.
While I had the dash apart, I stripped out the wretched remote-start gadget, and mended the spliced wires.
And then I replaced the grille and the composite headlamps with less-damaged ones from my dead '96 Diesel Suburban.
Another road test, everything works! Woo-hoo!

Here's a challenge for you with it though.
Figure out what you can do with it, and cut a track of something recognizable.
Doesn't have to be something that would Chart. Just something to prove the damn thing out.
Now, whether you mount it on your wall as a display, or send it along to another musician who might actually find an affinity for the thing, I don't care.
Just so long as it's future isn't buried in a landfill or under a pile of forgotten other instruments.

I am more grateful for that statement than you might imagine.
My late Step Mom bought that thing with the highest hopes. But as was her wont, it sat idle, along with her keyboard, sewing machine and so many other interests of momentary passions.
But she told me how much she wanted to learn to play an instrument, and that Strumstick seemed to her the anwer to her dreams.
It's just that her dreams lacked learning, practice and dedication.
I've avoided that trap, and have mastered the AM/FM, CD, Cassette, Reel to Reel, LP and have even dabbled with the all but forgotten 8 Track.
I still havent' mastered the MP-3 though. I don't know how to develop the film.

If you have a chance to see The Art Of Racing In The Rain, do it. Plot summary: dog narrates the life of a family.
It is literally the kind of movie where forty-plus-year-old guys are at each other with "were you crying when..." If you're not crying half the time and laughing half the time you're not human.
It's a very tight film, someone could have done a three-hour picture out of this but it isn't one of those and it's better for it. You could quibble that flattens the character development of some minor characters like the team manager but...they're minor characters. This film never drags.
The bunch I saw it with more or less agreed that it's the best film Kevin Costner's ever done. If you love him, you'll love it. If you hate him, you'll love it.

Dedication is key. Anybody can play an instrument if they have the dedication. Another major thing is if you have an ear for music or not. If you don't its a real uphill battle. If you can tell when something don't sound right, then you probably can tell when something is right, and if you can do that then its just time and effort. The thing I see a lot when it comes to people learning guitar is they quit right on the cusp of payoff. You have to gauge progress in months, not days. For the average beginner you have to get over the 6 month hump, because thats where things start to fall in place. If you're a prodigy thats one thing, but the average person has to get past the 6 month point, and maybe up to a year before all kinds of good things start to happen. Finger strength, muscle memory, etc all start to kick in down the road, not in 2 weeks. I see many quit too early. I taught a women in her 40's that I know how to play over the internet who never touched a guitar in her life. She had one in the closet she got for her daughter. In 2 months she was sight reading classical tabs and learning classical guitar songs on her own. Frigging classical, and not easy songs either. She was determined, she played about 2 hours a day, and she did really good. She got over that 6 month hump and was on her way.

You have music in your background. No way you couldn't learn guitar. The woman I was talking about played sax in school when she was young. She mentioned something about not always knowing where she was on the sheet music so sometimes she would fake it and it would sound right. I said ok, for one thing, you're weren't faking it, something was guiding you, and that was your ear and your familiarity with your instrument, so there is nothing standing in your way with guitar. You're in the same boat.

I was a Ford Certified sales rep and Internet Sales Manager, from '99 till '06.
The parts-list difference between an F-250 3/4 ton, and F-350 1 ton, single rear wheel Super Duty truck, was a rather short list, indeed.
It was cheaper to buy the 250, and pay for aftermarket upgrades to springs n' shocks, then to cough up the full ticket for the 350 at the dealer.
Not to mention, the 8,800 GVWR limit for "commercial" vehicles in Texas in that era. They've since raised it to 10,000 lbs.
But then, the 250 was fine on one's Class C regular driver's license. The 350 could get you an offense for lacking a Class B CDL.
Damn near identical trucks, minor difference 'tween shocks, springs and such.
Governments tend to default to the stoopid.

Find the exterior end point of the condensate drain line.
Take your wet/dry vac, and put the suction hose over that end of the line.
Wrap towels or what-not around the joint between the shopvac hose and the drain line.
Turn on Shopvac, and suck the sludge and crap out of the line.
(Make sure your shopvac has either a wet filter, or no filter in place for this. The standard paper filter will get ruined)

The the line not draining should not ordinarily stop the unit from working unless a separate switch to stop it has been installed on the pan. If you want the drain to not clog up after you get it unstopped you should establish a flushing schedule and flush highly chlorinated water down it periodically. If yoy are going to try to blow air through it you should blow from the attic out, otherwise you are going to get a mess in the attic.
Personally I would never have an attic unit in the first place. They are just asking for trouble.

Unless you use a reducer, when trying to 'blow out' the condensate line, there are instances where drain lines have been over pressurized. Joints then leak. Not visible right away, but showing up days later in the most difficult to access locations. And at a minimum, blowing the line clear creates this nasty mess inside the house. Sometimes looking like an elephant with a pustulating STD just had an orgasm on the walls and ceiling of the area where your A/C condenser is.
Shopvac on suction reduces the likelihood of this happening

With a full size shopvac, I have had success by simply wrapping my hand around the joint between the hose and the PVC pipe, and letting 'er rip.
It doesn't have to be an absolutely air tight seal.
And like Vic suggested, aperiodic dose of chlorinated water into the pan to prevent crap from growing back.
Plumbing Supply houses also sell tablets intended for the same purpose.
If you can gain easy access to the drain pan, simply set one in the pan, and let it do its job.

Does your ceiling unit have a drain pipe connected to its cabinet in some manner, and your entire unit then setting in the pan as a back up containment with some type of float switch to kill power in case the unit drain clogs up?
Is your problem that the drain pan isn't draining, or is it that there shouldn't even be water in the pan in the first place if the primary drain connected to the unit is working correctly?

The voters here have to approve a school bond issue. They floated one a few years ago supposedly to get rid of the temporary units at the local elementary school near me and install permanent buildings. School bonds (with the "temporary" tax increases can ONLY be used for capitol projects and not operating costs).
It original vote held during a November regular election was defeated by a 67% margin.The crooked SOBs held another vote 3 months later as an unadvertised "special election" and gave all the county workers the day off to vote. It passed with a 67% majority with a total of 600 people voting in a county of 70,000.
And the temporary trailers are still there.

Yeh....sounds like the design is such that when working properly, all condensate flows directly from the interior of the evaporator unit to the primary drain line, leaving the large pan that the unit sits in completely dry.
If for whatever reason, clogging of the short primary line, leakage of the internal condensate trough inside the cabinet that the primary line connects to, or what not...then the condensate will be caught by the drain pan, and be drained off by the secondary drain line into the common main line to the outside of the home.
So that would be your first safely feature.
Then, the float switch in the secondary pan will kill power, stopping production of condensate if the secondary drain fails to drain for some reason.
That is your second safety feature in the design.
And if the common line downstream of the junction of the two drains is clogged, the symptoms you are experiencing is exactly what you would be facing.
Either way, within ten minutes of firing up the shopvac, you'll know if you're on the right track or not.

I have seen drain installs where there is a TEE with the base of it pointed up, and open to the atmosphere.
Not many, but some.
And if there is one, and the blockage is upstream of that, it will simply such air from the tee.
Unless the opening is blocked by something.

My pump has a float valve switch, that shuts off the system if the pan is filled, to prevent water damage. If you manually raise the float switch to trigger it and it doesn't run, that may be the problem.

Put another person near the drain pan connection, and see if they can hear air being drawn in at the pan.
If not, You have an air gap of some type in the system, allowing the vacuum from the shopvac to be broken.

Usually, in installs like the one I suspect JAS has, it is the second safety feature to prevent water damage in the ceiling under the drain pan.
If the drain pan backs up, the float switch trips, killing the contactor control circuit for the cooling system.
Thus preventing the creation of more condensate, which would overflow from the pan, and leak into the ceiling.

What is the best way to clear the PVC drain line. Back in May I used Draino and an small auger which probably wasn't long enough but no problems until yesterday.
Today, we are going to blow air using a compressor from below. Any thoughts?

Clean what you can, manually activate it and it will pump down, then mix some bleach in a container with water and let it cycle a few times.
Add bleach every month.

From the hailstorm? Eh, who knows. We haven't even checked our roof since the hailstorm a couple weeks ago.
Saturday we had a massive storm come through our neighborhood that took down lots of branches, a neighbor's tree, threw our umbrella of the deck, caused a river running down the street, etc. My husband and I were out to dinner about 4 miles away and it didn't even rain there.

If you can, have someone at the exterior end of the drain to watch/listen.
If it's an algae plug, it will start to slowly ooze out like snot, then blow freely.
Keep your pressure as low as possible.
To be clear on this, you do NOT have a pump to move condensate, right?
Simple gravity flow?

I was late to the show, so I missed that.Mine actually does have a pump (and actuates a system contactor switch as well), so my technique would not necessariy isolate the problem. I think I'd still fiddle with the switch to see if it is functioning. Switch contacts are either make/break (hence ohmmeter) or switch a 24V signal (hence voltmeter).

I don't know where your pan is (attic?) but if you can get a garden hose up to it, this little contraption has saved me hundreds, maybe thousands of dollars. Some Moron recommended it a few years ago, and it's great.
It's called Drain King and it comes in different sizes.

Ours at stately VIA Manor is set up like yours.
Drain line to sump pump on side of plenum.
Float switch activates to cause pump inside tank to pump water up...across the basement...and down to a siphon break, and drain into a laundry sink.
And a second switch to kill the power if the level rises above the cut-on point for the pump switch.

They weren't "banned" by a person. They were identified by a computer program that automatically deleted them. Someone wrote some code that was uleased on the world without understanding how "well" it worked. This is what will be happening to people soon.
