Trump-Appointed US Attorney Slams "Culture of Disrespect" for Police That Led to the Philly Shootout
Statement by United States Attorney William M. McSwain on the Shooting of Six Philadelphia Police Officers What I witnessed last night was true heroism by the Philadelphia police. But the crisis was precipitated by a stunning disrespect for law enforcement --a disrespect so flagrant and so reckless that the suspect immediately opened fire on every single officer within shooting distance. Only by the grace of God did they survive. Where does such disrespect come from? There is a new culture of disrespect for law enforcement in this City that is promoted and championed by District Attorney Larry Krasner -- and I am fed up with it. It started with chants at the DA's victory party -- chants of "F*** the police" and "No good cops in a racist system." W'’ve now endured over a year and a half of the worst kinds of slander against law enforcement -- the DA routinely calls police and prosecutors corrupt and racist, even "war criminals" that he compares to Nazis. This vile rhetoric puts our police in danger. It disgraces the Office of the District Attorney. And it harms the good people in the City of Philadelphia and rewards the wicked. The alleged shooter last night, Maurice Hill, is a previously convicted felon with a long rap sheet. We have plenty of criminal laws in this City -- but what we don't have is robust enforcement by the District Attorney. Instead, among other things, we have diversionary programs for gun offenses, the routine downgrading of charges for violent crime, and entire sections of the criminal code that are ignored. The criminal laws in this City -- and especially the existing gun laws and drug laws -- should be aggressively enforced in order to protect the public and the police. My Office is doing all that we can. We have prosecuted 70% more violent crime cases this year than we did last year, in response to the District Attorney's lawlessness. But it is now time for the District Attorney and his enablers to stop making excuses for criminals. It is time for accountability. It is time to support law enforcement and to put the good people of this City first. The U.S. Attorney's Office, in conjunction with the Philadelphia police and our federal partners, is investigating the horrible events of last night and we are considering all options at our disposal. We will do everything that we can to support our brothers and sisters in the Philadelphia Police Department and ensure justice is done. To the officers involved last night -- those who were wounded and those who rushed to defend them--– and to their families, I say thank you. The whole City thanks you. We owe you more than we can ever repay.

If you're wondering, "is this Larry Krasner another of George Soros' anarchosocialist assaults on the pillars of American justice?" -- why yes. Yes he is, in fact.

To suggest that would be an antisemitic conspiracy theory, I'm reliably informed. So let's just say these things happened at approximately the same time and leave it at that.

Going back to the 80s I remember so many Chinese Nationals having "consulting" business cards in Chinese. Back then I had friends who told me they had to play along or their families in china would lose their apartments, or jobs, or whatever. That they had gone to school in USA and were supposed to return and didn't and so their families were at risk. When they would visit home, the gov. would interview them and find out what tech they had access to, and arrange another interview with a person who know how they could help Chinese businesses.
This is all an agency needs to turn people. Maybe only 1 in 1000 are going to turn, but that is plenty. Russia would have been giddy to have 1/1000 the potential insiders in the US during the cold war.
They have been selling tech secrets for decades, and I am sure the top recruits are used for more important stuff. like compromising outlook.
And to add, ... When the US agents in China started dying is an indication that at that point the Chinese KNEW that the US IC KNEW that we were compromised. So you can take that as the date at which the whole administration and IC is complicit in the cover up.

they arrested a guy in daylight, and that was allegedly the shooter ... but then I guess it was not. The shooter didn't come out till like midnight. A black Muslim shot a cop in his car three years back ... this guy had a beard but no idea if he was Muslim ... but long beard like that (from what I saw in bad light) seems more like just a Muslim thing.

It does seem to be a common thread among mass shooters, and suggests to me that more needs to be done to study the link. Perhaps their form of depression is somehow neurochemically different, which makes standard treatments prone to failing?
Just a guess. We can't pretend this isn't a thing, nor should we treat everyone as suspect.

Yes, a lot of these guys are on the heavy anti-depressants and pot. Would like someone to at lead consider whether these drugs are a cause of the violence, are what's keeping them from going all shooty sooner, if it's a bad drug interaction issue, whatever.
It's so much more complex than the gun made them do it, or video games dulled them to violence. Look at their home life, their social life, their drug use, their sanity in the years leading up to the shooting, etc.

I'm no authority on how efficacious FDA trials are on behavioral medication other than it has to be rife with subjective judgement on how well it solves the problem. Every time there's a breakthrough on something like Prozac or Ritalin, there seems to be a mountain of hype followed by "welp, maybe not".
I'm sure the physiological diversity of every human along with the inability of the doctor to know in every behavioral case what exactly is wrong are impediments almost impossible to effectively diagnose and treat.

I got a drug for sleeping that is actually usually prescribed for depression. But it has sleepiness as a side effect, so it's used "off-brand," as they say, as a sleep aid.
He warned me about side effects, which included depression and suicide.
"Wait," I said, "it's an anti-depressant that CAUSES depression and suicide?"
He said, Well, they have to report every bad outcome in every case history of someone who's used the drug. Depression and suicide are among the bad outcomes reported. But who was the drug being prescribed to? It was being described to people who are depressed, some of them who will already be suicidal.
There's not really a cause-effect link established in these laundry list side-effects disclosures. It's just things that happened.
In the case of depressive people becoming depressed on antidepressants: How do you know the drug just isn't working at all, and thus a depressed person reports "depression" as a side effect?
I personally believe it's wise to be cautious with any mind-altering drug and I'd agree they're overprescribed. But I would not read too much into the idea that someone who had depression was prescribed antidepresants, and then went on a murder-suicide spree.
He was probably already suicidal and fucked up! you can't conclude the antidepressants fucked him up -- he got prescribed psychotropic drugs because he *already* had some kind of mental disorder.
