You may remember that the original report on Hillary's emails said something like "they were almost certainly captured by a hostile foreign nation or hostile foreign nations," but then Comey and Strzok worked that language out to say the emails "may" have been accessed by another country.
And now: Oh no big deal, her system seems to have had a virus implanted into it that sent each and every email, including the top secret classified ones, to a drop box controlled by a Chinese company. The system had been infected so that every email was sent to this address of a Chinese company, no matter who you actually intended to send it to, or not send it to. And she did all of this because she didn't want to turn over any records to anyone -- no watchdogs with legitimate FOIA requests, no disclosure in response to a subpoena. She decided she didn't want any Americans to have her emails. But a Chinese front company? Sure, let's roll the dice on that one. No intent. Nonsense. No need to create a cutout mailbox - especially on Gmail - for that.
the obvious follow-up question would be why transfer her email to Platte River's servers in the first place and what did they do with them. Regardless a copy of all of them would still be on Google's servers. They never delete anything sent to Gmail addresses.

I think the DNC is still stocked with her loyalists. They're holding power within the party apparatus alongside the Sanders fans they granted power to right after the 2016 primary, but there's still a large contingent there.

This is not as simple as it seems. I don't think the
carterheavyindustries@gmail.com account was created until after she was
out of office, but in 2014 her IT guy uploaded the entire archive from
clintonemail.com to it. He created the account. Anyone with the password
could have logged into it and downloaded the archive. The active
forwarding didn't happen while she was Secretary of State, but uploading
the archive took care of that. Now, why choose
carterheavyindustries@gmail.com as the email address? The IT guy claims
it was an account he used to create a duplicate so he could copy it and
restore the clintonemail.com when they changed servers or something. But
why choose THAT name in particular? One theory, the prevailing one, is
so that Chinese intelligence operating within Carter Heavy Industries
could use it. An alternative theory would be that someone else was using
it, and the IT guy was just trying to misdirect counterintelligence
down the wrong path, if anyone ever were to follow his tracks. I think
the 48 hour rule is prudent here.

The clintonemail.com mail server was running Microsoft Exchange 2010 with the webmail login wide open to anyone who browsed to mail.clintonemail.com. I know because when news first broke I visited it. It actually stayed online for several days after becoming publicly known. ANYONE could have "hacked" into it and downloaded everything they wanted. I put "hacked" in quotes because it's so trivial with Exchange 2010 (and was when this server was discovered) that it's a stretch to even call it a hack.

That is nonsense. If migrating to another server you dump everything to PST files locally and then do an import to the new server. There are a dozen different ways to do that. Sending everything individually to a Gmail account is not one of them.

I have no idea if this is the same company, if he really made up the email or he is taking the fall for Hillary, how he came up with the name if he did make it up or what's going on.
All I know is he testified that he made it up as a way to transfer the emails from Hillary's server to the PRN servers. That was sort of the end of the investigation cause it was being run by Peter Strzok.

That is nonsense. If migrating to another server you dump everything to PST files locally and then do an import to the new server. There are a dozen different ways to do that. Sending everything individually to a Gmail account is not one of them.

Remember, the first investigation into all of this was run by Peter Strzok. That's why the investigation ended with no charges and a ton of loose ends.

I do email systems. For the government. The places where I get to dictate policy we don't allow .gov mailboxes to be added to personal devices and don't allow gmail use on government devices. This is more for the users protection so when subpoena's start flying those personal devices aren't confiscated. Sometimes they still are. Yes government employees still use Gmail but it's not as prevalent as you'd think nowadays. One of the first questions asked during an investigation is if you've ever sent work-related emails ia your gmail (or other personaly email) and if you answer yes then you're compelled to hand over your personal logins. If you answer no then you've just fallen in to a perjury trap. I explain this to all my users.

True story. I shipped a machine into the city of Chicago and went through all the the shit they made you go through UL 501/508, NFPA 78, NEC,... The city inspector came in and approved the machine, actually an entire line. Then he went around and checked a few other pieces of equipment and none of them had the proper tags or city of Chicago sticker. Inspector told the owner. Owner's father was big in Chicago politics. NOTHING is ever deleted from Google's servers, not even "deleted" drafts. You might not see it in your mailbox any more but it's still there. One subpoena to Google and 2-4 weeks later voila. I've been involved with such cases. And it looks 10x worse if/when one of those fake drafts turns up. Personally I've never seen it.
And if you want to say that maybe they used a cutaway secret email address, if they accessed the mailbox while connected to my network or wifi I have a record of that mailbox name. SSL/HTTPS is irrelevant on gov't networks and most corporate ones too. If they accessed it on their cellular device using their data plan then their provider has a record of it. The provider is ALWAYS subpoena'd too. The only caveat to that is that providers only keep a few weeks worth of logs (if that).
So next you'll say that they used a VPN. Well there's a record of connecting to that too and personal VPN use, ESPECIALLY on a government device is the biggest red flag of them all. Seeing that is when I call the FBI myself.

What stinks about the Benghazi situation is the coverup and misdirection so that she could avoid taking responsibility for it.
As I've said before, Hillary lived through the Mogadishu/Black Hawk Down thing in the Clinton Presidency. She saw Les Aspin fuck up badly and be put out to pasture as a result. He had the authority to refuse armor and to put US forces under UN command, it was wrong but he had that authority, and when it went pear-shaped he got sunk.
When Benghazi happened, she saw Mogadishu and Les Aspin in every waking moment. She made clear to Obama and his minions that she was not going to be Les Aspin, she was not going to take responsibility for her failure, and he and Susan Rice and the rest backed her up in this and she survived and some dude went to jail for a video.

Lower-echelon cybersecurity types probably caught this problem early on, but were either dismissed, demoted, or removed if they raised a peep. Same mindset happened to the Japanese during WWII, and that's why, with minor interruptions, we could read several of their radio codes throughout the war. Come to think of it, the Obama administration is probably more guilty of negligence than the Japanese were.

The main reason Benghazi was covered up is because the embassy was a CIA arms depot for funneling and transferring weapons to rebels and other bad guys.
The reason why the cavelry was never sent in was because the whole operation would have been exposed.
That's why afterwards FBI and CIA were sent over "to investigate."

The idea that an attack on a US embassy on September fucking 11th was the result of a video was completely and utterly absurd.

None of the laws Hillary broke required an intent component, the fact that you broke the law is sufficient to bring charges.
You do not have to prove to a jury that she intended to break the law all you have to do is demonstrate she broke the law.
And even if you wanted to prove intent, there were numerous instances where showing intent would have been child's play.
Such as deleting 30k emails that were under subpeona, such as destroying devices, such directing others to not cooperate, and on and on.
It's all bullshit.

The investigation started in March 2015 by the IC IG. They found the metadata and turned it over to the FBI which resulted in James Comey declaring in 2016 that no reasonable prosecutor would prosecute. The IC IG noticed the metadata in 2015. The FBI buried it.
The information was not given to Congress until after the election.

I have to disagree. I have never worked at MS, but I have worked at enough tech companies to know they are rotten with Chinese nationals. I also know that in the past China would "interview" nationals in tech when they went home to visit family, and they many were offered "consulting" positions.
It is not a big leap to assume most tech companies are compromised.

Yes. All this scrambling around to cover-up the extent of Hillary Clinton's email scandal was, I'm pretty certain, because it went all the way up to President Obama. Her reckless and illegal email server probably served as a vector to infect every fckn computer in DC not air-gaped.

Going back to the 80s I remember so many Chinese Nationals having "consulting" business cards in Chinese. Back then I had friends to told me they had to play along or their families in china would lose their apartments, or jobs, or whatever. That they had gone to school in USA and were supposed to return and didn't and so their families were at risk.
This is all an agency needs to turn people. Maybe only 1 in 1000 are going to turn, but that is plenty. Russia would have been giddy to have 1/1000 the potential insiders in the US during the cold war.
They have been selling tech secrets for decades, and I am sure the top recruits are used for more important stuff. like compromising outlook.
