Israel Refuses Entry to Antisemitic Politicians Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar, and Left Goes Nuts (and NeverTrump, Of Course, Makes Cuckish Noises About "Bad Optics")
I don't know why the left is going batshit crazy over this. Weren't they just telling us we must do all that we can to crush the scourage of racism and neo-Naziism?

The Israeli government may block a trip to Israel and the Palestinian territories by Reps. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) and Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.), a senior Israeli official confirmed to The Washington Post. The lawmakers, who have both been outspoken critics of Israel, are scheduled to arrive in the country Sunday. Their trip is being planned by a nonprofit organization, Miftah, headed by Palestinian lawmaker Hanan Ashrawi. The Israeli official, who spoke on anonymity, told the Post that Tlaib could make a humanitarian request to visit her family in the Israel-occupied West Bank and "it would be considered favorably." But Democrats in Congress were reportedly told Wednesday that Israel would formally deny entry to Omar and Tlaib, according to the Post. A recently passed Israeli law denies entry visas to foreign nationals who publicly call for any boycotts against Israel or its settlements in the West Bank targeting the country’s treatment of Palestinians. Both Tlaib and Omar have expressed support for the boycott, divestment and sanctions movement (BDS) against Israel.

It says that the President can't tell Federal Officials to arrest members of Congress while they're in session in Washington, or while they're traveling to the same, so as to inhibit their attendance in Congress. (The Kings used to do that to MP's that caused them trouble)

I certainly think it's calculated, but might not be all that different from prior years. At some point Congresscritters need to stop being front and center, if they aren't running for President, so the actual candidates, such as they are, can appear more in charge.
That's my assumption, at least. Trying to remember, but find it's lost down the memory hole for me, but consider for example, when Kerry was nominated. He really didn't do anything in particular in the Senate, so before it got too late in the process, I think the loudmouths of the Democrat Party would have been told to shut up, so Kerry could look more like he's in charge of something.

The only real legit historical usage of the hyphenated name was from when someone in a lower noble house married into a higher one.
For instance, a count marrying a princess from the Imperial family might put her dynasty name after his, so that everyone would be aware that their offspring were in line for the throne.
These days, it's just pretentiousness.
