So, Andy McCabe is now suing DOJ for "politically motivated" firing. This after the IG found he'd made "unauthorized" disclosures and "lacked candor" when he was questioned about it.

If you're getting ready to be terminated or think that you might be terminated, then the smart ones already have a file of "when I was talked down to"; "somebody made a joke" etc. The fact that it took this long to get this far before these guys thought about doing this says something.

It's not like they are going to get their job back. If they've seen the IG report, better to go quietly.

Plus, cases like this never get tried. There's too much discovery that comes out about methods, sources, etc. They settle with a pension.

The theory is that they want to have them in the court system, still kicking around at the time of the next election. They didn't indict Comey on the documents because he was savvy enough to leave a back door. Others have dug into this, but it's not a "get out of jail free card," but rather a tactical decision.

There are better things to get Comey on, and that's where the focus is.

Besides, those charges could still be filed, in fact I think they will be.

But they won't be done in isolation.

Everyone thinks a report that says "prosecution was declined" is like a presidential pardon. It isn't. It means they didn't prosecute YET.

I disagree. A district Court Judge doesn't have the jurisdiction to block an Inspector General from his duties. It might give him an objection if it ever comes to seating a jury, but I don't think it will go that far.

Today on Twitter, AFL-CIO Labor Union President Richard Trumka said he no problem with illegal alien workers taking the jobs of American workers.

The United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) union was recently impacted by a federal immigration authority raid in Mississippi; which resulted in almost 700 illegal alien workers being identified and removed.
In addition to the unlawful border entry, most of the illegal workers used fake documents, fake identifications and stolen social security numbers to falsify employment eligibility.

That's pretty damned interesting, especially when you read between the lines. Trump nominated Ratcliffe for the job, the Never Trump Senators killed Ratcliffe's nomination, they said that Trump should give the job to the #2 in command, who they liked - Sue Gordon.

So in response to them killing Ratcliffe's nomination, Trump just fired Sue Gordon. He's telling the Senate - okay, you don't like my pick? Then we won't have anyone in the job at all, how do you like that?

There's still not even a grand jury empaneled, it's questionable if there ever will be. And the DOJ has already declined to prosecute him on some potential charges, as well as others involved, who were referred by Congress and the IG for criminal prosecution.

He feels emboldened. He's going on offense.

All of this spygate stuff has been a bunch of breathless excitement that has gone nowhere.

Wake me up when there's a grand jury empaneled, subpoenas flying out and witnesses giving sworn testimony in front of it. Until then this is all noise and not worth even thinking about.
