A friend suggested that French meant that American-born Islamists radicalized her.

Well, maybe he meant that, but he avoided using that word, didn't he? Because he was Virtue Signaling for Liberal Approval and didn't want to taint it by spreading a Racist Meme like "Islamists spread the doctrine of Islamism."

Does David French think that Ilhan Omar was spotless of anti-semitism until Mean Americans taught her to hate Jews?

Ayaan Hirsi Ali, who, like Omar, grew up in Somalia, says that's unlikely. She says that she was anti-semitic herself due to the dominant backwards culture of Somalia and had to deprogram herself.

But I guess we need more Real Americans like Ilhan Omar, and I guess we should take David French's word for it that the American immigration system screens out all Islamists.

That's the single stupidest thing he's ever written, by the way.

Here is some of Ayaan Hirsi Ali's recent article from the Wall Street Journal.

I once opened a speech by confessing to a crowd of Jews that I used to hate them. It was 2006 and I was a young native of Somalia who'd been elected to the Dutch Parliament. The American Jewish Committee was giving me its Moral Courage Award. I felt honored and humbled, but a little dishonest if I didn't own up to my anti-Semitic past. So I told them how I'd learned to blame the Jews for everything.
Fast-forward to 2019. A freshman congresswoman from Minnesota has been infuriating the Jewish community and discomfiting the Democratic leadership with her expressions of anti-Semitism. Like me, Ilhan Omar was born in Somalia and exposed at an early age to Muslim anti-Semitism.
Some of the members of my 2006 AJC audience have asked me to explain and respond to Ms. Omar’s comments, including her equivocal apologies. Their main question is whether it is possible for Ms. Omar to unlearn her evident hatred of Jews--and if so, how to help.
In my experience it is difficult, perhaps impossible, to unlearn hate without coming to terms with how you learned to hate. Most Americans are familiar with the classic Western flavors of anti-Semitism: the Christian, European, white-supremacist and Communist types. But little attention has been paid to the special case of Muslim anti-Semitism. That is a pity because today it is anti-Semitism's most zealous, most potent and most underestimated form.
I never heard the term “anti-Semitism” until I moved to the Netherlands in my 20s. But I had firsthand familiarity with its Muslim variety. As a child in Somalia, I was a passive consumer of anti-Semitism. Things would break, conflicts would arise, shortages would occur--and adults would blame it all on the Jews.
When I was a little girl, my mom often lost her temper with my brother, with the grocer or with a neighbor. She would scream or curse under her breath "Yahud!" followed by a description of the hostility, ignominy or despicable behavior of the subject of her wrath. It wasn’t just my mother; grown-ups around me exclaimed "Yahud!" the way Americans use the F-word. I was made to understand that Jews--Yahud--were all bad.

We were taught that the Jews betrayed our prophet Muhammad. Through Quranic verses (such as 7:166, 2:65 and 5:60), we learned that Allah had eternally condemned them, that they were not human but descendants of pigs and monkeys, that we should aspire to kill them wherever we found them...
We were taught that the Jews occupied the Holy Land of Palestine. We were shown pictures of mutilated bodies, dead children, wailing widows and weeping orphans....
The theological and the political stories were woven together, as in the Hamas charter: "The Prophet, Allah bless him and grant him salvation, has said: 'The Day of Judgment will not come about until Muslims fight the Jews (killing the Jews), when the Jew will hide behind stones and trees. The Stones and trees will say, "O Muslims, O Abdulla, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill me."' . . . There is no solution for the Palestine question except through Jihad."

Is the delicate cuck David French quite certain that immigrants such as Ilhan Omar come to the US devoid of any antisemitism or Islamism, only to be taught it by Americans?

Or is this an entirely sham claim he's knowingly lying about just to win a Twitter Argument in which he was exposed as a fool?

In Indonesian, belut is eel.

Their word for tampon is also very, very close to that in pronunciation. So close that westerners have a hard time making the correct pronunciation. Or at least that was the case for my wife.

She went to the market to by eels for a kid's birthday game--the eels don't bite, so they have a sort of crazy relay race that's popular there.

My wife went from vendor to vendor asking for tampons, not eels. This was extremely entertaining to the men working in the market, so each one of them would send her to the next vendor just to keep the joke going.

She knew what was up but had to play along until they were finally done with their game and someone sold her eels.

There's this common perception on the right that schools don't teach history anymore.

And that's not exactly true -- they definitely do teach history. Just not the same history most of the older generation learned when they were growing up. He was teaching German at a college this just past spring semester and he did an entire class on just how bad Communism was and just what it was like in East Germany. Considering that he'd been there and done that what with working in Germany immediately post reunification, he knows that of which he speaks. Told the kids it wasn't on the test but he wanted to have them hear from at least one professor how bad Communism is.

I noticed this in the south. I met a girl about my age ( this was years ago) who had Chinese immigrant parents and was obviously Chinese herself. But when we started talking to each other she had the sweetest southern accent!

Yep. One girl I was seeing for a while seemed perfect for me, I was really excited about our relationship. Hung out with her all the time, she was super smart, really pretty, we had a lot in common and a lot of fun. Some red flags -- she was divorced and in her late 20's, had a bunch of cats, but other than that, seemed great.

Well, come to find out -- she had another boyfriend on the side (or maybe I was the one on the side), was a complete alcoholic, had outbursts of violence for no reason, would blow up at innocuous comments people made (including me) for no reason...

Anyways, yeah, she grew up with a dad who was a huge alcoholic who would black out every night and yell (and possibly hit, she implied but didnt say it) at everyone in the family, and punch holes in things, and was just completely unstable. Oh, and her uncle used to, at the very least, be very inappropriate with her and her sister.

So... yep. All came together.

Now we're just "friends." (we run in the same social circle, so i have to at least pretend to be friendly with her)

It is an interview with Yahoo's Michael Isikoff that purports to debunk the Seth Rich controversy. You can follow the link yourself, so I will not quote from it, but will offer a few observations:

1. In retelling the Seth Rich conspiracy theory, Isikoff does NOT mention the "hacked" DNC emails, WikiLeaks, or Julian Assange. This is somewhat like retelling the story of The Great Train Robbery" without mentioning "the mail car full of gold"!

2. Isikoff recounts the conspiracy theory as Rich, a Democratic operative", was on the way to the FBI with revelations about some unspecified corruption in the Hillary campaign, when a "Hillary Hit Squad" ambushed and shot him. It's a wonder he resisted the impulse to call it a "Vast Hillary Hit Squad"!

3. When the NPR host asks him to share some of the evidence the (alt-right) conspiracy people claim, Isikoff cites exactly One fact: Seth Rich's possessions were not taken. THAT'S IT. He dismisses this by stating that since Rich resisted the robbery attempt and the robbers panicked, shot him, and fled without taking anything. Isikoff repeats, as fact, that Rich resisted, and, as fact, that robbers often panic and kill when resisted, three times in the interview! This is our only evidence, and Isikoff nails it.

4. Aside from this, Isikoff relies completely on appeals to authority: police say "bah, humbug", Hillary says nothing, FBI says "crazy": case closed.

5. Reread point 1. By not confusing the audience with details like the DNC emails, Isikoff avoids the need to mention the FBI's complete lack of interest in the DNC server. And by avoiding the obvious red herring of WikiLeaks, there is no harm in withholding claimed evidence about the email copies bearing the technical characteristics of having been copied locally, not over the internet.

So why is NPR all of a sudden wanting us to know the "real" truth about Seth Rich's murder, something they never mentioned in the many months since it occurred?

Well, it might have something to do with the court documents just released claiming Julian Assange said that Seth Rich gave him the DNC emails!

French is not a particularly clear writer. But "native-born Americans, people who scorn the blessing of their extraordinary liberty and opportunity and sometimes even loathe their own country" points toward the Bill Ayers-types of the world. (Or maybe the 3 Squad members other than Omar.)

Agreed. That is very clear from reading the entire article. So the problem is two-fold:
1. American leftists telling immigrants that they should not assimilate but should hate America.
2. Immigrants who grew up in cultures (like Somalia) where hatred of America, of "infidels", of Jews was endemic and at plague levels.
