During the 2016 campaign, someone here posted an excellent article by NYC gossip columnist AJ Benza, where Benza recounted his tight relationship with Trump in the 80's/90's. Trump was one of his best sources, the guy who always called with a great story, and all he wanted in exchange was good gossip written about himself ("make sure you get my current wealth correct.").
Trump is no idiot, and he has been very good at sizing up all the people around him. I imagine never drinking or doing drugs helped him bigly with this.
I am sure he knows a whole lot about many NYC, DC, and Hollywood people from his business and tv career. Sucks for them!!

With respect to what's going to happen in the REAL Legal World, *Everyone* *Already* *Knows* who's implicated. They've known for years. The FBI has known for years, and has been helping to cover it up for their own reasons. (influence, leverage, orders from the powerful, whatever)
Epstein is not going to testify to anything they don't already know, because everyone official already knows all of it. They just need him to give them some admissible evidence for court proceedings. In other words, they've got the story - all they need now is the story printed in Times New Roman, font size 12, double spaced, signed, and notarized.
There may be secrets still to come out as far as the public is concerned, but not to anyone official.

Yeah, my youngest son used to run around with a crowd of teenagers from Columbus Academy (he didn't go there, just had some friends that did) and David Wexner was among them.
My old boss used to be neighbors with Wexner's butler, and he used to talk a lot about Les, and he didn't do any obvious pervy things. He seemed like a decent guy, for a .....BILLIONAIRE!!

Once upon a time RedState was given over mostly to the anti-Trump rantings of Susan Wright. There's a rational case to be made that Trump is a loose cannon, that the Darroch view of the administration is valid, that the administration is one chaotic step from a fatal blunder, but she was incapable of making it. She was David French cranked up to 11, and while I can occasionally read his stuff without laughing, Wright wrote without any real-world context.
They cleaned house over there, and some sanity has emerged.
AP isn't a Wright, is barely a French. He's chirpy, and while he's on the wrong side of many issues you can readily ignore him without too much irritation.

In fact I would go so far as to say that there are certain number of people in every civilization, every age, that are viciously intolerant of any other ideology, because that's their nature. They tend to gravitate to whatever they think is most popular at the time, because it's the easiest place for them to display their intolerance.
But these people actually never rally believe anything, which is why they can move around so easy. They just believe in feeling the power rush of trying to assert their own superiority over others.
Christianity, especially the Evangelical movement, is actually fortunate that we're now at a cultural place where most of those types are leaving the Christian Faith, because it's hard work to maintain when there are constant outside attacks. Those prone to vicious intolerance seem to have all agreed that they can get the most gratification by swarming over to the Atheist/SJW/LGBT bandwagons, where they can spew out their vile filth and all congratulate each other on how smart and woke they are.

All they value is being outspoken and demanding a government do more. That's not how it works. The US is the most giving nation in terms of private charity, and they give not just money, but all sorts of donations (food, clothing, furniture, etc.) as well as their time, both here and in the countries in which these refugees originate. They believe in action over talk.

I go through phases. For decades my most productive textual hours (email, writing, research, etc.) has been 8PM-1AM, I used to write buckets of code in the evenings. Close the door, no distractions.
I've been trying in recent years to conform my sleep hours to my wife's schedule, which is more the early-to-bed-early-to-rise thing, and it's not really working for me.

I generally sleep from 12:30 am to 6:30 am. 20 years ago I'd get up at 4:30, so I'm slowing down. I think it has to do with how efficiently your body processes sleep - for example, when I'm asleep I will almost never wake up, and sleep quite deeply. Others sleep longer, but they sleep lightly and wake up many times.

I think that's largely accurate. There have always been jerks who just hate and want targets for their hate. They will be attracted to movements that allow them to do so. Racism, Fascism, radical atheism, the inquisition, whatever.

The nation that ignores these cranks and minimizes them and focuses on the productive, sane, and positive in their population is the nation that will best succeed and be a net positive to the world.

So, David French says we have a Christian Moral Obligation to help all refugees. Well, the refugees who make it here are generally only the strong ones, the ones who can travel, who are healthy enough to try to relocate. Is our Christian Duty only to the strong? Clearly, we must also have an equal Christian duty to those who are still suffering back home under those conditions that caused others to try to leave. Isn't that morally obvious?

If you believe like David French does, then it is clear that we must have a Christian Duty to Bestride this World like a Colossus, sending our Armies everywhere we see Wrong being done. Isn't that what Jesus told us to do????
Or, on the other hand, we could just say that our Government doesn't have any special moral responsibility to non-citizens who are outside of our borders, and just leave it at that.

Ben Had, for the first time ever, my girlfriend (not a voter, hates both parties, hates Trump, too) was receptive to the idea of just voting against Dems.
She saw their debate, and the ideas were insane, and her friend that was watching with her said he'd move from the country if any were elected President.
She usually hears that kind of stuff from me and dismisses it, but I think their debate (and his corroboration of my fears) finally convinced her that I might - just maybe - be right that Dems are a real danger at this point.

Ben Had, for the first time ever, my girlfriend (not a voter, hates both parties, hates Trump, too) was receptive to the idea of just voting against Dems.
She saw their debate, and the ideas were insane, and her friend that was watching with her said he'd move from the country if any were elected President.
She usually hears that kind of stuff from me and dismisses it, but I think their debate (and his corroboration of my fears) finally convinced her that I might - just maybe - be right that Dems are a real danger at this point.

Yeah, Jeff could be funny, but you often got the sense that he was on the edge, psychologically. I don't comment, mostly, but this Epstein's one of my triggers, to use the current parlance. The fact that Iraq fell apart and then was abandoned, with A'stan still dragging along and our men dying, has broken the fragile coalition that existed then. Well, I'm just starting since I had this breakthrough last night. The first will be "Soviet Story" (documentary) followed by "Lives of Others" (very realistic fiction, with a lot of impact).
There is plenty of good footage and docs on the internet... but a lot of dreck too. I like a lot of the BBC stuff from the 1970s on Communism in Europe and Asia, and what happened.
There's also a guy who shows everyday life in the later, much milder version of the USSR, with way less brutal violence. But it shows the day-to-day bullshit that full socialism brings with it, when it's at its very best and most prosperous, and about to collapse under its own weight. His YT channel is called "Ushanka Show."
