Joe Biden's Super-Afraid That Trump's China Tariffs Could Cause Us to Lose the "G5" Race

G5? The Gulfstream 5? Don't we already have that?

The mentally weak candidate, who is slower and less energetic than he was when he was younger but still also stupid, meant 5G networking capability.

Maybe he had a flashback to a particularly intense Bingo game and had a sense-memory of nailing that crucial G5 square.

Oh, and Joe Biden did the one absolute unpardonable sin in liberal circles -- He disagreed with a Gender Neutral Person, and made xim feel unsafe.

Treacher explains:

This is from a Wisconsinite named K.C. Cayo, who describes himself herselfthemself as: "Activist. Women's March WI Regional Director. NextGen WI. Queer. BLM. They/Them/Theirs."

Joe Berkowitz at Fast Company explains what's going on here:

Biden's response to her, as depicted in the photo above, articulates everything about where he stands on this and every other issue central to women. Let’s start with the face. It’s a hostage's smile, cranked to 11. There's a hint of playfulness in his eyes, a desperate need for it to be a light interaction he controls rather than a confrontation in which he's the subject. Those eyes mask a deep need to reiterate, in all seriousness, that Biden knows what he’s doing and that what he's doing is right, and if only she knew the degree to which he was right, she would get off his back about it and maybe thank him.

Then there's the finger. He's wagging it right in her face! A demonstration of dominance from the king of gesticulation.

I'm shocked that Berkowitz is cruelly ignoring Cayo's preferred pronouns, but otherwise this is obviously right.

Oh my God, I just got an email from Anne Frank, reading, "That poor Gender Neutral Person, I can't even imagine such horrors as a wagged finger."

Even David Axelrod, who worked with Biden as Obama's campaign manager and then, if I remember right, Chief of Staff, has doubts that this old dog can learn new molestation tricks.

A week ago, Joe Biden seemed to be sailing to the Democratic nomination.

...

But after his last, shambling week, the new question is "Can Biden hang on?"

...

The former VP and his campaign sowed new doubts with their clumsily shifting answers on the fundamental issue of federal funding of abortion.

...

When Biden was asked twice by a woman on the campaign trail whether he would support the repeal of Hyde, he gave her an unqualified yes. But when video of the exchange surfaced last week, his campaign said he had "misheard" the question and still supported the ban.

Twenty-four hours later, after drawing fire from opponents and pleas from supporters, Biden reversed field again and announced his opposition to Hyde.

Compounding the awkwardness of this flip-flop-flip were the post-mortem stories in which Biden's staff at first appeared to take credit for his change of mind and then said he made the decision himself in the car en route to the dinner at which he announced it.

...

First, he "misheard the question" may have been an honest answer but probably not the card you want to play too often when your candidate would be 78 the first day he occupies the Oval Office.

So far, Biden has pursued a much lighter schedule than the other candidates. He went an entire 10-day stretch recently without a public appearance, and those he makes are carefully choreographed. He largely has avoided the media or challenging interview settings.

It may be a smart strategy to a point, but the Rose Garden can become a Game of Thorns if the sense grows that the aging candidate is being protected from himself. The campaign is a proving ground to show he is up to the demands of the job.

Like Trump said -- "mentally weak." "Totally weak mentally." "To be perfectly honest, he was half-a-retard when he was 40 and he's full retard now. And you never go full retard."

I'd love to hear Trump call Biden "half-a-retard."

No, not really. Don't do that, Trump. I mean, I'd love to hear it in an alternate reality.

Maybe during your second Inaugural. But not before.

Exit Question: What will cost Joe Biden more, that Robert Gates wrote in his book that Joe Biden had gotten every single foreign policy question of the past 40 years wrong, or that he wagged his finger in front of a person of neutral gender?

I agree they're stuck with Biden. What I can't figure is whether they're following that "sacrifice" strategy of throwing someone with no political future beyond 2020 into Trump's maw in order to spare the younguns for future runs. Is it that, or do they think Uncle Joe is the only one who's shallow and folksy and reassuring enough to beat Trump? I admit, I was worried about that in 2015.

235 wikipedia on "sense memory" aka "affective memory:"

Affective memory was an early element of Stanislavski's 'system' and a central part of method acting. Affective memory requires actors to call on the memory of details from a similar situation (or more recently a situation with similar emotions) and import those feelings to those of their characters. Stanislavski believed actors needed to take emotion and personality to the stage and call upon it when playing their character. He also explored the use of objectives, actioning, and empathizing with the character.

"Emotional recall" is the basis for Lee Strasberg's Method acting. "Sense memory" is used to refer to the recall of physical sensations surrounding emotional events (instead of the emotions themselves). The use of affective memory remains a controversial topic in acting theory. Otherwise known as emotional memory, it is often used by making the actors completely relax so that they recall the memory better.

...

I don't really understand it.

Anyway, I didn't know what it meant and now see that it really doesn't work in the sentence I wrote.

The thing is the film really isn't about abortion -- it's about a horrible villainous doctor. But aside from one (rarely mentioned) moment, the film does NOT condemn abortion as a concept.

The key moment in the film, actually, has nothing to do with Gosnell and his actions. During the trial scene, a feminist pro-abortion doctor takes the stand to say that she's there to represent all the dedicated and talented doctors and abortion providers, and to let everyone know that they're NOT at all like Gosnell and his horrible ways. BUT THEN, the prosecution cross-examines her and gets her to describe what a "normal" non-illegal mid-term abortion is supposed to be like -- and her description was so grotesque that the audience has no choice but to become opposed to abortion in principle. THAT moment was the point of the film "Gosnell" -- and it has nothing to do with the crimes of Dr. Gosnell himself.

Posted by: FenelonSpoke at June 13, 2019 01:59 PM (ahS0B)

Serious answer? English doesn't have a neuter pronoun specifically for people. The default, at least grammatically, is to use the masculine, and that's what you normally see in learned writing. Colloquially, we see people using the plural (they, them) as a work-around.

AFAIK, when I see a tranny-critter of some sort, I simply use "it" as a pronoun, since it's obvious that critter has abandoned humanity.

I worry about Biden, honestly. He and Sanders. If either gets the nom, it's a real fight. Bernie will get back his radicals and *maybe* carry it over the line, though I don't know. Biden can play centrist. He isn't one (or even if he his, his Valerie Jarrett won't be), but he can play one on TV and make the Upper Midwest, PA and OH extremely difficult.

I think a "sense memory" is meant to indicate a memory based on the three OTHER senses not including sight and hearing. So: recollections of smells, tastes and touch are sense memories.

And as you probably already know, the strongest memories of all are smell memories, much stronger the sight or hearing memories. People call recall exact smells from childhood and throughout their lives. Evolutionary biologists still don't know why that is true for almost every human.

Yeah there's old, like Trump, then there's this wall you hit when suddenly you just can't function right any longer old. I watched my mom get there. She was spry and active and remembered things well, and then almost one day, she had a hard time remembering things, has a tough time getting out of a chair, is so tired she can't even sew any longer. A more thorough investigation of her body found a delicately shaped cardboard tube placed in the genital region, most probably to allow for intercourse.

400 Serious answer? English doesn't have a neuter pronoun specifically for people. The default, at least grammatically, is to use the masculine, and that's what you normally see in learned writing. Colloquially, we see people using the plural (they, them) as a work-around.

AFAIK, when I see a tranny-critter of some sort, I simply use "it" as a pronoun, since it's obvious that critter has abandoned humanity.
Posted by: Alberta Oil Peon at June 13, 2019 02:05 PM (WG6O9)

I still default to masculine gender when the sex of the person in question is either unknown or irrelevant, because I detest the use of plural pronouns with singular verbs.

I also use "it" in reference to those of confused and/or confusing sexual identity.

That would make sense. I was trying to figure how molecules in the air would interfere materially with signal transmission.
Posted by: Deplorable Jay Guevara at

THough, there is a problem related to weather satellites and 5G.

Apparently the 5G signals interfere with the microwave sensors used to measure water vapor in the atmosphere.

From Wattsupwiththat:

"Among the spectrum recently auctioned off by the FCC for 5G is a band of frequencies near 24 GHz (GHz is gigahertz, or a billion cycles per second). Unfortunately, this is close to 23.8 GHz, a frequency in which water vapor emits microwave radiation and which is used by weather satellites to determine the three-dimension properties of the atmosphere. I always turn Automatic Updates off. Perhaps that's not possible in Win 10? Two reasons: one being that I don't want the damned thing updating itself right when I'm in the middle of important work, or reading the HQ; the other being that not all updates are necessary, or even safe. I wait until it becomes common knowledge that "update soandso is both safe, and necessary to correct some vulnerability".

And I don't trust MS to make that assessment.

A modern non-nuclear torpedo is designed to detonate under the target ship's hull. 5G uses Frequencies that have VERY short ranges. We're talking 10's to 100's of Meters.

Also, virtually any solid surface will block those frequencies as well.

So Cities may get it, Suburbs probably not. Rural? Not worth the investment for companies to do it.

You will also have to replace all you devices to use.

It will also bleed over (due to side bands) into other spectra that are used for other purposes, like Weather satellites may be as much as 30% less effective. Some Air Search Radars will also be affected (higher background 'noise' will mean less sensitivity).

Mine too. As it always does. I'm not saying they'll _never_ f*ck it up, but so far, Win 10 has been solid for me, on all my PCs and laptops. People love to slam Microsoft, but Win 10 works really well.

The outrage will begin when they start charging monthly for the service. MS calls Win 10 an SaaS, a "service," not an O/S, so expect fees coming someday.

(I'm just as comfortable on Linux as on Win 10, so I move among them easily. I'd love to recommend Linux over Win 10, but it's still too difficult for my friends to use as easily as Win 10.)

Then be sure to stay out of Boston. In the delightful accent there, they drop "Rs" from words that have them, and add them to words that do not.

I think accents are charming and have no problem with that. I have a problem with a principal at a grade school being unable to speak plain English and misleading kids. Learn to wrangle your accent at least at work, so you are not confusing grade school kids about spelling and pronunciation.

Fauxcahontas is coming on strong right now with all of her half-assed "plans," but I suspect Trump would make mincemeat out of her. There's SO much material there.

610 "Now suddenly you can't use your graphics program! Now your email program can't send email!" I believe you've had problems. I haven't had a single one with Win 10.

I'm not saying it's you, necessarily, but some people have a knack for breaking anything you put in front of them. My cousin could inject malware into a bowling ball, or a fire-hydrant, if there was a keyboard attached. I spend hours setting up a safe PC environment for him, and it he breaks it in minutes.

Best advice I can give you is: stop using POP email clients (especially Windows' crappy email clients.) Use web-based email instead. You don't need an "email program," just a browser. That eliminates one big source of your trouble.

There is something to that. We can have all these health devices and exercises and nutrition and so on to be strong and vigorous into our 60s but human bodies just can't go on for much longer, no matter what we do. Something is gonna break it down.

This is rated as True. When you hear that you have a higher chance of getting cancer at 70 than at 40, that's just because you're getting to the age when you'll eventually get cancer of everything.
Posted by: Blonde Morticia at June 13, 2019 02:53 PM (M9ntN)

Exactly. People bleat about the rising incidence of cancer, and attribute to everything up to and including global warming.

But the expected lifespan in 1900 was 45. People died of infectious diseases, accidents, difficult child births, and just plain overwork long before they had a chance to get cancer. Step on a rusty nail in a farmyard? Hello, tetanus!

THAT'S why the incidence of cancer is much higher today.

694 673 Those two have the same root (=strength). One's "forte" -- pronounced "fort," by the way -- is a strength. Forte in music (for-tay) means loud.

It looks to be the same for fencing (I looked it up). It's the strong part of the fencing-thingy blade, before it gets all narrow and bendy.
Posted by: Yudhishthira's Dice

forte (one syllable, pronounced "fort") is from the French, and means your area of expertise.

forte (two syllables, pronounced (for-tay) is from the Italian, and means "play these notes loudly" in musical notation.

Both are loans words to English, so both are "correct." You just pronounce it one way when you mean "this is my area of expertise" and pronounce it the other way when you mean "bang on those keys loudly!"

So - -"fort" and "for-tay" are BOTH right. It's a rare instance of two different loans words from two different languages entering English -- but both words have the SAME spelling!

nurse, Iran's infrastructure is third world. They can't even refine their own gasoline. And with Trump's sanctions, their economy is horrible and getting worse.

Trump would never send ground troops into Iran, it isn't worth it. A dozen cruise missiles would take out their electrical grid and their pipeline so their oil revenues would immediately stop.

Chaos would ensue, and civil war would commence.

But you will need popcorn, so stock up.

This is why I think that hair-sniffing hide-the-female-security-agents dumber-than-a-rock Biden will probably win the Dem nomination.

He seems to be the only one out there, the only one (if there is someone else, please share, it's not as though I'm super interested in figuring out which one I like the best) who understands that the crazy super-abort fringe is off-putting to the vast majority, even including pro-choice people.

And of course he wants to control the situation. It's probably the one *in particular* job skill that he'd be expected to have. He's going to fold because a young person challenges him about not being a post-birth-aborter?

It depends on how you're using it. If you using it to mean "loud; with force" you pronounce it for-tay. That's from the Italian forte meaning "strong".

If you're using it to mean "something at which one excels" you pronounce it "fort". It's from the French meaning fort meaning "strong point (of a sword blade)".
