Trump to Roy Moore: Why Don't You Make Like a Rug and Leave

Moore said Trump knows that Moore can beat incumbent Democrat Doug Jones. Which elicited an obvious response from Don, Jr.:

There is additional wisdom in the second kick of a mule.

It will be cosmically satisfying if Mo Brooks ends up the nominee just because he could counter Moore's support.

The establishment in Alabama could have backed in in the special election, but they didn't like him enough, so they got Moore instead.

It's similar to how the national GOP didn't like Cruz enough to back him to counter Trump whom they also didn't like.

Sometimes the reality is just there and one has to take a long look at it, as unfair as it may be.

120 As for the Mueller BS statement

I find it very interesting that Mueller specifically mentions the underlying work product and that it is being processed outside of his office.

I would LOVE to see the work product. That would likely show the timeline for when and how early the Mueller team KNEW there was no collusion or co spit act with Russia. This is the kind of information Barr should look at and release to the public. We paid for the investigation, we should know how the Mueller team used it and how and when it was obtained. I think Mueller is nervous he is going to be exposed as a scam artist and unethical twat.

Moore didn't have that reputation before the race anymore than Kavanaugh had his. He also had the GOP drop financial support(McConnel's pick didn't get the nod) while the Dems got really high voter turnout from their efforts. Fundamentally I'm not sure anyone except for McConnell's pick would've walked away with a win on account of GOP backstabbing.

Probably not. And it does sound like a sort of archaic but "normal" sort of "establish yourself professionally and then marry the young daughter of an appropriate family" sort of thing. Which just makes it weird (and archaic) rather than completely creepy. And 15 years difference in age is really nothing.

But far too many people try to rewrite history and are too invested in claiming that various things were never "okay". We never told dead baby jokes when we were teenagers. Men never actually joke about conquests in locker rooms. No one ever made horrible pedo jokes before the age of recording everything including what we had for lunch. And fully grown men never actually *courted* girls in high school because girls weren't EVER expected to marry right after graduation.

281 I don't think Moore will win the nomination.

They dynamics are all different this time. Aside from the fact that it's a regular election and not a special election, the support for Moore was probably equally support for him as a candidate and a protest against Luther Strange.

Strange should never have given himself the Senate seat, and he definitely should never have run for it. He was the king of corrupt in Alabama for a few years, and a lot of voters hated him for it.

Without Strange there, Moore is the closest in stature, probably, to Strange, but he has lower support (the poll I remember had him at something like 27%). I just don't see him collecting enough other voters to coalesce into the de facto choice. I would imagine his polling would need to be at least mid-30s if not a tad higher to pull that off.

lol, you know when someone describes a woman as "hard", they were talking about her and her mom. reasonably attractive but both were first and foremost interested in getting theirs.

worked out for sex though, never had to worry about her getting off, she made sure it happened.

362 Alright, I'm about done with the topic of Roy Moore, who I don't even like, but I have to reiterate this for people who do not know Alabamians. Alabama is very much the Fuck All Ya'll state.

The best way to get Roy Moore to run as an Independent and take 20% of the general election vote as a spoiler is for outsiders to publicly berate him. Particularly Yankees, no offense meant but truth be told.

For a place with such a lot of problems, Alabama has almost Texian pride. They will burn their own house down rather than let you take it.

Personally, I wouldn't go there, particularly in this era. Plus I'd think a little girl would be more grossed out than happy for a 53 year old man to be talking to her like that. But there's nothing innately awful in the single event. Its just one more brick in the wall.

523 Roy Moore is "toxic" only because the establishment has told us all candidates should have the bland personality of say, Mitt Romney or Joe Biden.

Roy Moore is Roy Moore. The same man that told SCOTUS their same sex decision would have to pound sand in Alabama, and that installed the Ten Commandments in his courthouse.

I'm agnostic, but Moore is Moore and not a yuppie/preppie. Apparently, that means he's "toxic." I like real people, not the milquetoast preferred here.

527 So where was POTUS when the Washington Post and Gloria Allred defamed Roy Moore?

Are he and Don Jr. just going to complain about our defamation laws, or are they going to FIGHT?

Gloria Allred's "witness" was caught redhanded making a post-dated entry into a yearbook.

Why hasn't the DOJ investigated that? Isn't it a case of "voter suppression"?

What does Kimberley Guilfoyle see in that wimp Don Jr.? She's a lawyer, let her sue! She would make the case front page news. And she would have a nice case, Roy Moore v. The Washington Post. Add that to the Nicholas Sandmann case against WaPo and watch Jeff Bezos cry like a baby? He hates being taken to the cleaners by a hot woman.

528 Trump should shut up, doesn't he remember the false charges the Dims launched against any GOP candidate?

Posted by: I am not corey Booker at May 29, 2019 09:38 PM (nRj4F)

529 As a lifelong citizen of the great state of Alabama I feel especially qualified to opine on this. Roy Moore is considered a joke here. He has grifted social conservatives here for 25 years and, in 2018, that reputation finally caught up with him.

I've personally witnessed him agree to speeches for small churches and pro-life groups for "expenses only." Then, he ran up tens of thousands of accommodation expenses on their dime. He also regularly sends out fund-raising solicitations when he isn't running for anything.

It really chafed my ass when I saw one of his solicitations on my grandma's table and she told me she sent him $100 to cover his expenses in the lawsuit against his accusers.

The problem is he hasn't sued his accusers and obviously has no intention to. He's not a good guy. So you folks sitting in Virginia or Arizona or wherever telling us folks in Alabama what a great guy he is, save it.

Oh and if you think he got the election stolen from him you're going to need to explain how it is that every other Republican in Alabama manages to win by double digits but Roy Moore manages to lose to a nobody.

Also the difference between Moore and Kavanaugh is that, after Kavanaugh was accused he literally had a parade of hundreds of respected men and women to come forward and vouch for his character. Roy Moore had...his wife. Smear tactics only work if the subject of the attacks is smearable.
