I found that if I compose my comment in a plain text editor and then paste it in the comment window, it is formatted correctly. Something about the comment window doesn't play nice with Pixy. I also notice that it has the non-functional formatting buttons, which didn't appear at all in the Epic browser on the Mac OS.

The flight was an older plane (a 727 with an analog cockpit) but it was clean and the in flight service was superlative. We had fresh sammiches, fresh coffee and flan for the inflight meal, served on real china with linen napkins and real silverware.

I Firefox on Win10 - developer edition. It does wierd things too when copy/paste and I'm sure you've seen sometimes when I post the spacing is messed up.

Whenever I get ti in my head to listen to something, I find it, and get to listen. It doesn't matter what room I'm in, I have an inexpensive speaker connected to the system. If you like music and have a Spotify account (or similar), you can listen to literally anything just by picking up your phone and using the app.

Living on the south shore of Lake Ontario, its "we are all going to die from GW time". It does have a lot to do with how much water is released into the St. Lawrence. That's kind how I personally am. I'm fortunate that my family LURVS them some staying in a hotel, so even a two day trip usually isn't a big deal. I don't know what it is about it but the kids view it as a big adventure.
I've also discovered that if I splurge a bit on the hotel that the wife stays much happier, too.

But truth be told, I could see an aviation rate possibly grabbing SW as well, like for instance during a long Carrier deployment.
But I have met many a knucklehead who has tried to collect every damn qualification out there. Perhaps to enhance their promotability.
And there seems to be an almost inverse relationship between the number of Quals they wear to their ability to master their primary rate.
They tend to have the largest list of collateral duties as well.
Usually involving diversity.

We have an iPad but I don't have much experience with it beyond being the IT guy when it doesn't work right, so my knowledge is secondhand:
There is a setting called smart type or something similar that needs to be shut off.
Another problem for everyone regardless of platforms is em dashes (the long hyphen). That and curly/angled apostrophes and quotation marks will cause the errors, too. You often can't quote content from the top of the page in the comment section without tracking down quotation marks and removing or replacing them.

I've discovered that if you wait until a few hours/minutes before you arrive that there are some really great deals on hotels dot com. We stayed in Atlanta recently and got a $600+ room for $125 a night.
Needless to say the wife was quite content.

Rove actually has a point, though. AOC won a primary in which no one voted. Turnout was tiny. That was okay because her district is 80 percent Democrat and no one voted in the general, either.
But in any other kind of district, a whackjob like her would get crushed in the general.
The Dems have used media dominance for years to try to make voting Republican simply unthinkable. Yet they're now fielding candidates who are making every right-minded citizen see the Dems as the ones who are simply too crazy to be trusted with power.

IOW....they make the local public schools look bad.
SO Bernie is essentially wanting to kill off education opportunities specific to poorer families. Families with the means can avoid public school by sending them to private schools or homeschool (which is already under attack).
Which makes me wonder if the socialists plan to do to education what they did healthcare: eliminate the competition by putting private/independent options out of business.

I was reflecting on the hysteria on the left and it occurred to me that these people are actually starting to buy into their own b.s.

Charter schools are led by unaccountable, private bodies, and their growth has drained funding from the public school system. When we are in the White House we will ban for-profit charter schools.

Observations from Iowa - it is very flat, driving is monotonous, there is more unbuilt land in one block than NYC has in an entire borough, dirt roads are terrifying, no one carries almond milk and caucus-goers are extremely well-informed.

In northeast Iowa, you have the Unswept Area, thousand foot bluffs over the Mississippi, steep little smooth mountains with switchback roads and hundred-mile views. They have their own Pike's Peak.
Never heard a campaigner mention it.

It's been a productive morning. My formatting and monitor brightness problems are both fixed, leaving e-mail as the only real problem I have with Linux at the moment. I'll have to call Comcast about that, I think.
Overall, I'm very happy with Linux so far. I've spent the last few days exploring it and haven't even scratched the surface yet.
