State Department Red Flag on Steele Dossier, Exposing It As Politically Motivated and Highly Inaccurate, Was Sent to Senior FBI Leader -- BEFORE the First FISA Application

So, they took a document they knew was not reliable and used it to get a FISA warrant on Carter Page (and really on Trump) anyway.

And -- lied to the court about its reliability!

John Solomon:

In all Washington investigations, the essential questions become who knew it and when did they know it.

In the case of FBI informant Christopher Steele and the credibility of his now-disproven Russia collusion allegations against Donald Trump, we have some important clarity: Government officials confirm that an October 2016 email revealing that Steele met with State Department officials -- a breach of protocol for an informant if it was unauthorized -- was sent to an FBI counterintelligence supervisor.

Multiple sources confirm to me that the recipient of the State Department email was Special Agent Stephen Laycock, then the FBI's section chief for Eurasian counterintelligence and now one of the bureau's top executives as the assistant director for intelligence under Director Christopher Wray.

The email to Laycock from Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Kathleen Kavalec arrived eight days before the FBI swore to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court that it had no derogatory information on Steele and used his anti-Trump dossier to secure a secret surveillance warrant to investigate Trump’s possible ties to Moscow.

Officials tell me that Laycock immediately forwarded the information he received about Steele on Oct. 13, 2016, to the FBI team leading the Trump-Russia investigation, headed by then-fellow Special Agent Peter Strzok.

They swore, under penalty of perjury, that they had no derogatory information to undermine the reliability of the Steele dossier -- and they did have derogatory information in hand.

But they swore a falsehood to the court anyway.

And Wray is doing his darnedest to protect them, huh?

Trey Gowdy offers a simple place to start the investigation:

Former Congressman Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) Monday night had some interesting advice for the federal prosecutor who was just appointed by Attorney General William Barr to look into the origins of the Trump-Russia investigation. Gowdy told Fox News host Sean Hannity that there is "an easy road map to follow" and suggested that investigators start by looking for certain "emails between [former CIA director] Brennan and [former FBI director] Comey in December of 2016."

AG Barr has assigned John H. Durham, a U.S. attorney in Connecticut, to examine potential wrongdoing by the intelligence agencies during the 2016 election, the New York Times reported Monday evening.

Durham, it turns out, "has a history of serving as a special prosecutor investigating potential wrongdoing among national security officials," according to the Times.

Trey Gowdy added, in a fresh appearance on Fox:

"What I'm telling Mr. Durham or whoever is going to look into this is, I think you'll see late in 2016, well after it had been used, it was still unverified and the people responsible for it were referring to it as unverified and one or the other demanded that it be included in the intelligence assessment which then prompted the discussion you and I are having now," Gowdy said.

Rand Paul had previously asserted that Brennan was responsible for jamming this RUSSIAN DISINFORMATION into a warrant application, but Breenan denied that -- claiming it was Comey and the FBI who insisted on including it.

Hit the link for details on that. I say put 'em both under oath, and then convict each of them with the other's testimony.

Maybe this information is dribbling out because John Durham, the man tasked to investigate the legality of the FISA warrants and spying operation, has actually been investigating this for months.

John Durham, the prosecutor tapped by Attorney General William Barr to investigate how Trump-Russia allegations emerged and spread within federal law enforcement, has already been looking into whether the FBI’s former top lawyer, James Baker, illegally leaked to reporters.

In fact, the U.S. attorney from Connecticut appears to have begun that work more than seven months ago, to judge from an underreported transcript of an October congressional interview with Baker. The Baker interview, at which Durham was not present, suggests that the prosecutor nevertheless has some people very worried.

Why worry? The Guild protects its own. Only mere citizens have to obey the law. Those appointed to enforce the law can violate it any time they damn well please with complete immunity and impunity.

I'll tell you what, if I'm ever on a jury and being asked to convict someone for perjury or obstruction in a federal case -- lol get fucked. If the law doesn't apply to the Lawmen, it also does not apply to the citizens they inflict it on.

If the federal government wants to ever convict someone again on these sorts of charges, they'd better prove, quickly, that the law applies to the DOJ, CIA, and FBI as well as to the plebes and commoners.

50 This goes to the very heart of the Anglosphere. The Magna Carta was signed by King John I on June 15, 1215 and it required the King to obey the same laws that the people had to obey. No other nation or culture has anything near the Magna Carta. It was for many centuries the basis for the fights between the King and Parliament Strange how we continue to fight the same battles because governments are inherently corrupt. They are a necessary evil and should therefore be kept as small as possible so they can be controlled..

It seems t hat we're reverting back to an earlier form of law as an expression of will - the law is what the powerful say it is, nothing more and nothing less. Maybe it's always been this way and I've been listening too much to the happy horseshit, but this series of episodes seems far too brazen to maintain the illusion anymore.
I think this is what they're really warning about now when they're objecting to investigating the investigators as an "attack upon democracy/institutions/norms" - we're going to get a full view of the fat little bald man behind the curtain all of this time, and the illusions will be broken.

The United States has always been an experiment.

Governments always grow in power, and the more powerful they are, the faster that accumulation of power becomes.

The Founders tried to create sets of competing interests, so one group within the Government would limit the accumulation of power from the other groups.

Problem is, the Supreme Court went from the Least Powerful, to most powerful, by a self created mandate that THEY were the only arbiters of what the Constitution meant.

Once the States had no say (thanks Civil War), the Federal government started that accumulation.

We are now in the end game.

John Solomon just 10 days ago, with Judicial Watch, says Rosenstein has a lot to answer for ... while agreeing we don't have all sides of the story yet. But I think Solomon has more sides of the story than most.

Solomon on YouTube cued to the middle of the Rosenstein discussion. it starts about 5 minutes before ... he points out that Rosie gave the letter to Trump "approving/validating" reason to fire Comey. Then seemingly tells the FBI ... "WOW, you need to investigate trump for firing Comey". Rosie seems central to the start of the coup, even if he later "flipped" or did his job (to cover his own arse).

That's why they had to have a FISA. The "insurance policy" was in the event that Trump won, they could claim that their spying was "by-the-book" investigation. Its all falling apart because it was all lies. The CIA/FBI spied on the presidential candidate of the opposing party. Its a bigger scandal than Watergate.

These people had 6 years as majority opposition to the Obamunist, and 2 years under Trump with which they could have crafted a much better replacement to Obamunistcare AND to the bad health insurance laws in the Bushyrovie era which Trump could have signed into law, and yet they did jack. The Senator invites those with questions to visit his campaign fundraising site for more information or to shoot bmit further inquiries by way of a lobbyist with a black bag full of non-sequential, unmarked bills."

Re: zombie's theory on why the Left loses most of their arguments

On the contrary, since most people are really stupid today, the Left wins most of their arguments, e.g., Bruce Jenner is a woman.

The Left now says Everyone in the world should be allowed to vote in US elections. No shit, really. Their argument is simple: Since US policy affects everyone in the world, why shouldn't people outside the US have a say in who makes US policy? Furthermore, why shouldn't future immigrants to the US have a vote in future US immigration policy?

When stupid people hear this, they say Yeah, That Makes Sense!

The first sentence is an utterly ridiculous assumption that has no place in the real world. 389 >>The first sentence is an utterly ridiculous assumption that has no place in the real world. As to the second point, it was only luck of the draw that the 1/3 of Senate seats up for re-election happened to have a lop-sided number of Democrats in red states who rode the coattails of Obama's re-election to victory.

No, its not. Poll after poll showed that Democrat voters overwhelmingly voted on healthcare as their primary issue by far. Why do you think Nancy and the House leadership made it their key issue? Russia was way down the list. You can blame John McCain for a lot of that damage. Go look at the exit polls.

Then there was the small matter of dozens of Republican House members retiring or deciding not to run for re-election.

And then there was things like vote harvesting in California that cost us a few seats. That wasn't Russian agents, that was corrupt California.

And then there is the historical fact that the Party in power almost always loses seats in the first midterm. Obama got crushed, much worse than Trump's first term.

It's silly to say that people cared about RUSSIA when voting for the House but totally blew it off when voting for the Senate. Talk about an utterly ridiculous assumption.

In any case it doesn't matter. There is no way in hell that Trump wasn't getting investigated. He was getting investigated officially starting in July 2016 and had he just demanded it be cancelled he definitely would have been impeached at worst or had his reputation trashed much worse at best. The left and the media would have been screaming coverup all day, everyday.

If you really want to drain the swamp and get all the scum identified and removed it was always going to take a long, in-depth investigation that could be proved and sold to the public.

They're apparently looking at using a new modernized F-15 variant instead of more F-35s, as an all-stealth fleet is an unnecessary waste of money. The idea behind it is to use the 35s to quietly bird dog targets for missile-laden F-15s that can carry almost four times the ordinance.

"Reading aloud to his crew the contents of their survival kits (possibly the first mention of condoms in a Hollywood film): After listing the contents usable for barter with Russian women (prophylactics, nylons, lipstick, etc.), as well as a .45 automatic pistol, Major Kong said, "Shoot, a fella could have a pretty good time in Big D [Dallas] with all this stuff."
