Massachusetts Judge Charged in Federal Court With Conspiracy, Obstruction of Justice, and Perjury for Helping an Illegal Immigrant Evade ICE in Her Courtroom

Another court officer was charged as well.

A judge who allegedly helped an illegal immigrant escape out the basement door of Newton District Court last spring, and the court officer who assisted, were charged in federal court today with conspiracy, obstruction of justice and perjury.

U.S. Attorney Andrew Lelling announced the indictments against Judge Shelley M. Richmond Joseph and former Court Officer Wesley MacGregor.

Judge Joseph, the indictment alleges, allowed an illegal immigrant wanted by immigration officers to leave Newton District Court without being detained for possible deportation.

"I'm not gonna allow them to come in here," the judge is alleged to have told the man’s defense attorney. She was basically keeping an ICE officer on the outside of the courtroom....

The judge, federal prosecutors are alleging, allowed Jose Medina-Perez to walk after being arrested by Newton police on drug charges last April. He was also wanted for drunken driving out of Pennsylvania and ICE had a detainer on him.

Meanwhile, Florida governor Ron DeSantis announces his policy on sanctuary cities, which consists of one word: "NOPE."

Oh wait, there is a three word addendum to the policy: "lol get fucked"

Florida Republicans once worried that hardline immigration policies would alienate Hispanic voters and cost the party the nation’s biggest swing state. Then came Donald Trump, who carried Florida in 2016. Two years later, Gov. Ron DeSantis won election running as a Trump clone.

Now the GOP-led Legislature is heeding DeSantis' call and is poised to pass legislation cracking down on so-called sanctuary cities. The bill would mark a triumph for a wing of the party that has pushed to call the bluff of moderates and Democrats who have long predicted that anti-immigration policies would mean electoral catastrophe for Republicans.

"The last two elections were in part a referendum on the broken illegal immigration system," said Rep. Blaise Ingoglia, former chairman of the Republican Party of Florida. "Both President Trump and Gov. DeSantis ran on platforms of fixing a broken illegal immigration system and being strong under the law."

148 ace - note the classic, and very much staple, lies and distortions in the very language used by Politico.

"Hard-line" policies on "immigration". How many - important - lies in just those few words? What is "hard-line" about enforcing settled, common sense, fundamental law? And "sanctuary" lawlessness has nothing to do with "immigration" - it's about illegal migration, and law-breaking. And public safety, and violence, and municipalities and states causing harm to the nation.

And then below, "anti-immigration". Complete lie. Again, for the billionth time, illegal migration and violation of visa requirements and borders and so forth have zero to do with immigration. There's actually a system for that, with laws, rules, everything.

This is the essence of media distortion. The orwellian twisting and inversion of meaning in key words. Needs to be called out, eviscerated, and demonized every time it's seen (yes, this means non-stop action, but that's where we are, and where we've been, for years).

There is the legal aspect. There is also the "let's make an example for all of the posing politicians out there who are making enforcing the laws so difficult" aspect. Enforcing the actual laws against people who were certain those laws would never be enforced against *themselves* needs to be done. Sort of like Voltaire's statement about the tendency of the English to shoot an admiral from time-to-time and exactly why.

Yarmout, a white D from Kentucky, and a chairman of a committee, posed for that pic with the Donkey Girl's cardboard cutout not as an insult but thinking it was cool.

So Dora The Extorter gets wind of it, sees it, and tweets that it's "creepy" for the GOP to have "old white men" to pose for pics next to "young female legislators."

I shit you not.

Quickly, several tweets, including the fossil Wesley Clark, corrected her stupid mistake. Tweet deleted.

201 While welcome and long, long over-due, this sort of action is on the fringe of the problem (an outrageous, astonishing fringe - active judicial criminality - but still the fringe).

The center of gravity is the systematic violation of federal law in aiding and abetting illegal aliens by municipal and state govts.

Still not a hint of anything in that direction. Nor of course any reciprocity policy by DOJ - "sanctuary" jurisdictions receive zero help with their problems, unless they involve national security or actual public safety. FBI and DOJ have lots to do - a policy of putting certain matters at the bottom of the inbox should have been instituted January 21, 2017.

I'm even sickened that in our trade negotiations we're fighting for IP protection for certain businesses - businesses whose owners and domicile states usually are promoting this idiotic lawlessness. "American" is an earned description now, not an inherent trait, and I'd break out the good pinot if some the tech vermin had to watch the Chinese systematically hollow out their businesses with piracy and theft.

Then you can nail the sanctuary city officials who get sick of their guests and try to get them to leave or help them relocate.

Funny thing - ran into some EPA guys and gals on the Detroit River a few years ago (their vessel was the "Mud Puppy II") and they were doing sediment core samples. They advised no fishing near the old McLouth Steel plant because the core sampling tubes were damaged/destroyed by what was in the bottom right there.

Other places were fine, and the overall water quality was good, but there were places to not drop anchor or fish.

Clark is accused of giving an acquaintance access to her bank account and then telling police money had been stolen, something she denies.

According to a transcript obtained by FOX 32, Judge Martin hammered prosecutors, asking, "I'd like to know why Ms. Clark is being treated differently than Jussie Smollett. It's a disorderly conduct case. A lot less egregious than Mr. Smollett's case. I have a problem with it."

The Hurricane is No. 3 squadron, Battle of Britain.

The P-40B was 48th squadron 15th pursuit group, Wheeler Field, and the cockpit was too big for the fuselage and needed massive deconstruction and trimming, and the upper cowling pieces were too big and needed serious sanding, and the upper wings were too long and had to be sanded - I am surprised it came out looking as decent as it does.

(Which is 'not awful' but definitely 'could be better'.)

291 A judge in Portland pulled this right after Trump's inauguration as well.

After a storm of criticism, the judge was cleared by a local investigation - the defense attorney asked to let the defendant leave by a side door, because there were ICE officers outside the courtroom, and "the defendant didn't have his immigration paperwork". The judge was innocent, because she allegedly didn't realize that the agents were there to take the guy into custody after being convicted of a DUI charge. It was OK to help the guy avoid the ICE agents, of course.

She's still a pro-tem judge in Portland today - and is president of the Hispanic Bar Association.

A classic defense lawyer tactic is to change the defendant's name to something so long that it takes years just to read it out in court. Then you sue for violations of the defendant's speedy trial rights.

The GOP could have used the obverse of this tactic to stop BarkyCare dead in the House ... but the Weeping Boner didn't feel like reading the whole thing. He figured that a few paragraphs would suffice for his "opposition".

The cockpit proves too big - then trim it down to make the fuselage close (and who is going to see all of that detail in the floor of the cockpit anyhow?) The wings not fitting? Just sit there and sand and then use putty. Not a terrible build, but not awesome.
