Watching the reactions of the professional left and all its desperate faithful after the Mueller Dud, I am reminded of the eloquent words of Nelson Muntz.

9 Feinscrunt jumps on the NZ gun ban. Says the US should do the same thing. They are advertising this as a 'ban on assult weapons'. It goes much deeper than that.

Hours after New Zealand announced prohibitions against semiautomatic rifles and shotguns, Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) tweeted the U.S. needs to follow the gun ban example.

19 So our local radio voice was saying after the Mueller Report release that now is the time for Trump to have some humility.

I'm thinking that the President has survived a coup attempt.

Nah....feck the humility.

From the beginning, the left has screeched that they were going to remove him from office, as the stated goal.

All they needed to do was find a reason to do it.

Why?

All because they refused to accept the legitimate results of the 2016 election.

34 the release of the mueller report led me to watch some of the msnbc shows. they're desperate and in shock that there are no indictments. they're really panicking, grasping and rationalizing (e.g lawrence o'donnell played a tape of nixon on this day in 1974 telling mitchell to take the 5th and stonewall, and he asked his panelists if they thought mueller was secretly signaling that trump was trying to stonewall his investigation. wow.)

Yes they do. They had created this elaborate fantasy world and it has come crashing down. More of the Kubler-Ross stages of grief. Denial right now, Anger soon at Mueller for "setting them up", and then on to Bargaining because "SDNY will save us", then Depression when they realize that Cohen and Manafort's tax evasion and failure to register as a foreign agent. Unless you've ballooned a lot it shouldn't be too tough to get under control with just watching what you eat and studying some glycemic index charts. There's plenty of very tasty low glycemic food out there. Including meat.

You don't have to eliminate them completely, but portion control is critical. There's kinda two elements, knowing the numbers on the glycemic index and the 'load'. Which would be the quantity. For instance a baked potato is really bad, so you only eat one half or one third. Or eliminate it and find substitutes.

Ice cream is surprisingly neutral, again in small quantities.

But studying the chart - and there are plenty available on the internet - is critical. Once that's committed to memory, it's easy peasy to stay away from the foods near the top and stay in the low to middle range.

114 Cut the carbs and the diabetes may go away.

Posted by: JAS at March 23, 2019 06:55 AM

You don't have to eliminate them completely, but portion control is critical. There's kinda two elements, knowing the numbers on the glycemic index and the 'load'. Which would be the quantity. For instance a baked potato is really bad, so you only eat one half or one third. Or eliminate it and find substitutes.

Ice cream is surprisingly neutral, again in small quantities.

But studying the chart - and there are plenty available on the internet - is critical. Once that's committed to memory, it's easy peasy to stay away from the foods near the top and stay in the low to middle range.

If the man can manage a nuke, he can manage his blood sugar with ease.
Posted by: Newest Nic

Another example are substitutes, generally pasta is bad. But, you can buy on the regular supermarket shelf high protein (17g) and high fiber pasta. I mix one package of each, the kids can't tell the difference. Minimal cost over the cheap store brand - but not insane.

I just had a pile of it, old pre-diabetes massive American sized portion, with 3 eggs scrambled in with bacon and hot peppers. Reheated in the pan with the bacon fat, of course. Didn't feel it at all.

There's some interesting little tidbits of information when you really drill down into the glycemic index. Like under-cooked pasta ( al dente or whatever it's called ) is better (much lower) then fully cooked. Of course, it tastes like crap to me.

The main problem is modern processed foods like white bread and white rice are really bad. But the alternatives taste like crap.

Did he use a word like 'borderline' or anything? From what I remember in the past you ran a weight range from 170 to 190 and were around 5' 10". If I remember correctly.

Unless you've ballooned a lot it shouldn't be too tough to get under control with just watching what you eat and studying some glycemic index charts. There's plenty of very tasty low glycemic food out there. Including meat.
Posted by: Newest Nic at March 23, 2019 06:49 AM (jYje5)

I had type 2 and got it under control strictly by giving up soft drinks and eating salads with lunchmeat in them instead of sammiches. Mrs H still serves tons of pasta (because she's addicted to that shit and life's not fair that it was me instead of her with the problem) but those two simple changes, plus minimizing sweets to an extent, were all it took. You might have it worse though because my vision isn't fucked up and a retina specialist gave me a clean bill of health.

Rising gas prices are usually a sign of a strong economy, not a weak one.

Of course, the economy worldwide is in a funk, but we've still got good growth and I'm not sure how that disparity will work its way down to the gas price.

181 Someone smarter than me needs to explain why gasoline prices have jumped 60 cents in the last 10 days.

Posted by: Village Idiot's Apprentice
________

My best explanation is that gas prices have been lower that what they should have been for at least a couple of months. Crude oil got cheaper, so a lagging decrease in gasoline prices followed. Now crude is up again but the gas increase is just now catching up.

My rule of thumb is to divide the price of crude by 23.1 to find what a gallon of gas "should" be. It's within a penny or two now where I fill up.

(Disclaimers: I don't fancy myself smarter than you, and I really don't know the reason why.)

235 I want to put the Mueller investigation into proper perspective. Mueller had:

1. An unlimited budget and staff2. Wire taps3. Surveillance Drones and cameras4. Subpoena power to compel the production of evidence
5. Laser listening devices that can overhear conversations in closed rooms and moving cars6. The ability to intercept all electronic communications, including individual keystrokes on individual computers7. Swat raids on Trump subordinates8. The ability to coerce witnesses against Trump to testify against their will9. Ordered and achieved the violation of Attorney-Client privilege10. The assistance of the CIA in investigating foreign agents - who had to be part of any Russian Collusion

Mueller was the former head of the FBI - not some 3rd rate hack detective from small Ozark town. The reason the investigation lasted almost two years is that Mueller believes anyone he investigates is guilty and leaves no stone unturned in his search for that guilt.

His investigation of Trump was exactly like his investigation of Steven Hatfill in the Anthrax letters case. Both were based on Loony left wing conspiracy theories. Mueller found no evidence against Hatfill for the simple reason that Hatfill had nothing to do with sending the Anthrax letters. Mueller found no evidence against Trump in the Russian Collusion case for the simple reason that Trump had nothing to do with Russian Collusion.

253 >>Levin said last night that Barr has a real role to play in what of Mueller's report can be released, particularly if it contains secret grand jury testimony, which seems to be overlooked by the "nation of laws" MFM and donks. He's also skeptical that it doesn't include some shit bombs with Mueller being Mueller.

I think it's really important to go back and remember the reasons given for firing Mueller and who wrote that letter.

One of the key findings was that going against DOJ policy Mueller released information about the target of an investigation that was ultimately not prosecuted. That would be Hillary Clinton. And DOJ policy has always prohibited doing that.

The person who wrote that letter and has been re-instituting that policy at the DOJ is the same person who has been overusing Mueller for the last 2 year, Rod Rosenstein.
