The United States of America

Thirteen colonies. Approximately 2.4 million people in 1775 who shared a common language, similar religions, the spirit of self reliance, liberty a life along the Atlantic seaboard to name just a few things which united them.

The step child of Great Britain grew up and declared its independence. The United States was formed.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.


The wisdom of our forefathers still amazes me to this day. They did not want an all powerful central government:

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

THE Conventions of a number of the States, having at the time of their adopting the Constitution, expressed a desire, in order to prevent misconstruction or abuse of its powers, that further declaratory and restrictive clauses should be added: And as extending the ground of public confidence in the Government, will best ensure the beneficent ends of its institution.

Still concerned about the abuse of power the framers they again addressed the rights of citizens, limited federal government rights and gave the states authority to deal with their lives on a day to day basis. No living, breathing document here.

Other countries have attempted to create their sovereignty via a united federation approach. Let's take a look at the Soviet Union and Yugoslavia. Well, we saw how this worked out. These two countries were not united by anything other than strong willed dictators and violence. Their cause was not helped either by the full embrace of Communism.


The only way you can create a "united" country is having a shared belief system.


What unites our country today?: The Declaration of Independence? Hardly, how many people believe in God or a Creator?

English as the official language? No way, that's racist.

The belief in the Second Amendment? We know the answer to this is "NO". As there is a segment of our country who want to ban gun ownership. Heaven help us all the day "they" come to take away our firearms.


Science. Science will draw us closer together? That is stretch considering they want us to believe there are as many genders and pronouns as there are stars in the sky.


Can we be united if the Democratic nominee for president calls us deplorables and irredeemable? Even Christ forgave the thief on the cross. What does that say about Mrs. Clinton and her ilk?

What values does your community share with the Muslim communities of Minneapolis, MN or Dearborn, MI? We are a nation of laws not Sharia law.


Our country was founded on Judaeo-Christian values. Currently the US Senate has an undeclared vendetta against Catholic presidential nominees.


Over the weekend I have looked at the websites of the big name Democrats running for president. None of them discuss liberty. If they don't agree with you or your position, you are immoral. There is no mention of self-reliance but plenty of praise for one size fits all answers coming from Washington, D.C.


We might be called the United State of America. But, we are too big to succeed. It's not a matter of if, but when the citizens come to the conclusion: We are no longer united.

But irredeemable is another word entirely. That's a statement of value, its finality: impossible to change or repair, cannot be redeemed. This is the kind of language that sends people to the camps.

That, and attacking the Bushes, and just the New York style in general, mean that he isn't as popular as the generic Republican would be in Texas. He'll carry the state, but as much because people will be voting against the Democrat as because they're voting for him.

It has to do with the fact that the federal government's personnel analyst industry has a terrible bias against veterans.

There is a standing law that says that anywhere there is a security guard opening (GS-0085), the supply of all veterans who apply to these jobs must be exhausted before a non-veteran can be considered.

When the Homeland Security Act became law, there were provisions to transition GS-0085 positions to GS-0083, police officers. These provisions came with money, federal civilian access to military surplus weapons and equipment, and nearly every personnel analyst's wet dream: The ability to pass over veterans who apply to federal jobs.

There is no rest of the story. Events unfolded the only way they could, and that is why the Department of Education has a SWAT team.

The key point is this country was founded by God Fearing people (ask the Puritans and Jamestown Settlers if church was a big thing). The Founders as a group believed in God and a Biblical based morality. You can call it what you want, all men are creatures of their times and use the terms that mean something to them at that time. They are not going to see into the future and use our terms. That is why so many dead people get in trouble with the left these days.


The vast majority of Americans had similar cultural views if not similar political views. They did think there were two sexes, so there is that.

Well, yes and no.. Most other countries do have a history of slavery.. including the Indian nations.

But they didn't start out declaring ALL MEN have these inalienable rights, then allowing slavery anyway. Big distinction.

I realize it was another time, and that's just the way it was and took another 100 years to right itself.

But during those years, the South (mostly) bred a population that now (in general terms) drains the resources we work so hard to produce and procure. All while Democrats have sought to ghettoize them into cycles of poverty and crime.

No, not really. Countries or more accurately associations are made by and for the people who make up the association. Outsiders are just that and have no rights. That's where slavery came in.

Look at the history of Brazil. Long before the Portuguese got there native tribes were capturing and enslaving members of other tribes to serve them. Same goes for most of Latin and North America long before any Europeans got here. Slavery, in one form or another, has been around in almost every culture since the beginning of time. It still exists in part of Africa, Asia and the Middle East pretty much out in the open.

Or you could look at India or other territories under British colonial rule. The natives never had the status or rights that the rulers enjoyed. They were for all intents, slaves.

Slavery is evil, no doubt. But the US was hardly unique in how it viewed outsiders or slaves.

And it was't just the brutality - they were still close enough in time to remember the 30 years war, and the English Civil War - both conflicts in which Religion was central, and which caused more damage (proportionally) to the areas where they were waged than even WW2 did.

It's been estimated that central Europe experienced a 30% - 40% drop in population over the course of that war.

But atheists never seem to be able to understand that a whole lot of people believe that there are things MORE important than our own lives, or our personal desire to continue. In their view, it is insane for a man to thrown himself on a grenade in wartime, but the answer is simple - the man who does that believes that the of his friends and comrades have worth every bit as much as his own. And since all men die sooner or later, and most end up dying for nothing, dying for something is a good way to meet your end.
