The site "Big League Politics" shared a private post from a woman who said an office holder who assaulted her at the the Democratic National Convention was about to get "a very big promotion." She says her attacker won a statewide office in 2017. On Monday morning, Fairfax released a tweet that said "the person reported to be making this false allegation first approached the Washington Post ... after being presented with facts consistent with the Lt. Governor's denial of the allegation, the absence of any evidence corroborating the allegation, and significant red flags and inconsistencies with the allegation, the Post made the considered decision to not publish the story." Fairfax says he will take legal action at anyone "attempting to spread this defamatory and false allegation."Here's that Big League Politics post-- the woman alleges this sexual assault happened in 2004. Pierre Omidyar's MySpace Page has completely ignored the entire Northam situation, because, of course, Bill Kristol contributed to Northam and encouraged "Republicans" to vote for the infanticidal maniac. So would Trump in black ace have made any difference to the GOP? Anything is possible in an alternative universe, but it's hard to imagine that a party that can swallow accusations of pedophilia, sexual assault, and sympathy for white nationalism would suddenly develop scruples over a photo, especially when there are judges to be appointed, taxes to be cut, and walls to be built.

My take on the latest commercial for Captain Marvel is that it was just 60 seconds of her flying around with her gazer beam eye blasting shit and showing the boys how it's done. Cause the point of the movie is that she haz all the powers, including the rapier wit of Super Megasonic Teenage Smartass from Deadpool. Oh and she played Pop Warner football too, having a 10,000 yard season in EIGHT games with the most TD throws AND receptions..... and hit the most Dingers in Double A ball retiring Bull Durhams record.
Then she brushed that wisp of hair back off her face with a puff of Godzilla breath. At the very end, if you look closely you can see RBG in the background slow motion mouthing the word "Daaaayyyyyammmmmm!"

What would we think of this stunt had she herself been a Gentile?
I don't know exactly where the line is between insensitivity and racism/anti-semitism. (The Left doesn't think there is one and they can call ANYTHING "insensitive.")
For me, it's making jokes about killing/terrorizing others.
IOW, the KKK thing crosses the line. For me.

However, there is a particular kind of blackface made popular by minstrel shows. Because of its history, that sort of blackface is the most offensive, and is pretty much verboten. Maybe taboos are dumb, but it is taboo, much moreso than other forms of blackface. It's not clear if Northam was dressed in that style. Patterico theorized that he was actually dressed as MJ. If that were true, I think it would be mitigating (although any mitigation is likely completely undone because he's standing next to a guy in full Klan gear).
