"So, this week, the media's Covington narrative collapsed faster than Bill Clinton's pants at a hookers' convention. It was discovered that Nathan Phillips, touted by the MSM as a 'respected tribal elder', was lying his ass off: He lied about who he was, he lied about being mocked, he lied 8 different ways about his military service, he lied about why he approached a group of kids at a pro-life march, in short, he lied about everything. Heck, Jane Fonda has spent more time in Vietnam than Phillips ever has. All Phillips does is annoy people. He can be accurately described as a professional protestor/agitator and far from being a 'respected' elder, Native Americans don't think much of him. He was at the pro-life march for one reason only: to provoke an incident, and then cry about it to a sympathetic media. Of course the media believed every word he said and didn't bother to do any actual fact-checking. Yeah, 2019 is looking like another kick-ass year for the MSM. And it's not even February."

I agree. It annoys me to no end.

If you are in a bathroom alone, you go to the farthest urinal possible. Then the next person goes to the farthest on his side. Then the next person to the farthest from the other two (in the middle), etc. etc.

Sometimes all the urinals will fill in, which is unfortunate.

But if simple etiquette was followed, you'd never end up in the dreaded situation of being in a bathroom with 15 urinals and a dude with his hands on his hips pissing right next to you trying to make small talk.

A good friend of mine is from India. He used to do that, too, until I explained the rules to him. We'd be in a bathroom at a bar, he'd stand at the closest urinal to me and continue our conversation, including looking in my direction.

I had to explain that a cone of silence descends upon everyone at the urinals, eyes straight ahead, as much distance as possible between people rules. Once you get to the sink, you can pick up where you left off in your conversation.

Now he understands.

This is a bit of a problem.

Stone is more than a loose cannon - he's a relentlessly self-promoting power-monger. Dirty tricks are his stock in trade. He's lived a life of pushing legal and ethical boundaries, and I'm sure he's crossed a few here and there, at the very least. He's probably personally vulnerable to some degree.

Now, I doubt Trump let himself get manipulated into a culpable position, for anything, by Stone.

And for all his faults, there have been a *couple* of people he's shown strong loyalty during tough times in the past, most prominently Nixon, and heretofore, Trump. He's a tough SOB, and knows how to stand his ground.

However, I would not put anything past Stone - anything. It'll all boil down to whether he decides to stick to his guns or try to save his own skin.

Yeah, like I said upthread -- it's fun for the cops.

You don't become a police officer or FBI agent to sit behind a desk all day and fill out boring paperwork.

You become a cop so that you can kick in doors, scream at people, and run around, irresponsibly waiving your gun, and screaming "CLEAR!" like you're in a movie.

As far as actually efficacy of these no-knock / late night raids -- yeah, probably not so much. Lots of room for someone to get hurt, property to be damaged, and scaring the shit out of children and innocent people. It also sets up the scenarios that we see occasionally where someone in the house (justifiably) wakes up to their door breaking in, grabs a gun thinking they're about to be victims of a home invasion, then gets themselves killed when the cops storm the bed room.

Some places still put ice in the urinals.

It serves a triple function -- gets rid of excess ice from the ice maker, works as a kind of anti-splash device, and as the ice melts, it helps remove the gross piss from the urinal that animals refuse to flush.

369 I've been trying to find a pithy statement of clarity to describe the "thing" where someone slanders someone and then uses the fact that people believe the slander as proof of the slander.

There has to be a generalized conceptual *thing*.

In this case, of course, "Trump is racist, homophobe, sexist, etc." is the lie, no real different from previous attempts to portray any non-leftist as War on Women or whatever. But then saying that because people believe this and have emotional traumas and fears over it, that anyone who doesn't respect the trauma of those who are traumatized are clearly guilty of the fantasy, because even if it's not *true*, they're callous toward vulnerable people and that is what's important.

There's elements of "straw man" because the monster is a creation of leftist narrative. There's element of various other logical fallacies. But I can't get it distilled down in a way that fits but with *clarity*.

I mean... suppose that I'm an insane person and I decide on my own that some normal thing is going to hurt me. It's not true. I'm insane. Maybe I'm terrified of tomatoes and any time I see someone eat one I'm certain that they're about to drop over dead and I *very sincerely* become traumatized in the same way that someone would if they were watching a person hold a pistol to their temple and pull the trigger.

Sure, I suppose that if someone ate tomatoes around me because they thought it was funny to see me freak out, that would be a bit cruel. But ought everyone in the world cater to my psychosis? Of course not.

Now suppose that someone malicious *created* that psychosis in me for political advantage and then ran around acting like my savior, berating and condemning people for eating tomatoes?

What would that bait and switch, transference, be called...

385 My wife and I were looking forward to watching Longmire because we are both from Wyoming. After the third season we gave up on it. First of all, it's filmed in New Mexico. Second, the plots are what a Hollywood screen writer thinks Wyoming is like, rather than what it is actually like. Third, it's relentlessly depressing and downbeat. Bleah.
