Meet The PetMorons

image1 (3).jpg

Here is a picture of Bleu, now at 8 months. She has picked my husband as her favorite servant with my daughter as a second. She doesn't like to be picked up but will jump onto my husband. Her favorite plaything are twist ties, the thin, sturdier ones that come with electronic things. - Lin-duh

So you are the hard nosed one in your household after all? It appears she runs the roost at 8 months of age. We appreciate the submission.

purples pic.jpg

Hello Pet Thread.

Here’s a picture of our Iowa daughter’s puppies. She and her dog Blue went to Missouri to help her son settle into a new house. Unfortunately, her dog and her son’s dog accidentally were allowed to “get together.” Her son’s dog is named Red (for “Go Big Red!) So several weeks later, Red and Blue had six little “purples!” Blue is half Labrador and half Blue Heeler, and Red is full Miniature Australian Shepherd. In the picture, puppies Brownie, Luna and Sally are under the bench, and Blackie, Princess and Violet are in the box. The purples are almost 6 weeks old now, so they’ll be looking for homes soon; but we get a kick out of their story. - Mrs. S.O.B.

Cute looking puppies. I bet they have some unique personalities with sporting breed and herding breed characteristics. Thanks for sharing.

Tess.jpg

Hi Miss Hum,

This isn't my cat, it's my mom's almost 18 yrs old cat Tess. In the top half of the photo she was about a year old and hadn't yet learned to sit like a lady, and in the bottom half she's doing what she does for about 22 hours a day, sleeping. Until about 3 years ago she was very anti-social. That changed when one of her brothers, who was a thug, had to be put down. Then one night she came out into the living room and jumped up on the sofa with me to become a lap cat. She has one really bad habit, every morning around 5:30-6 am (sometimes earlier) she squalls like she's in heat. But she's not, she only wants breakfast and a glass of water. Jake Holenhead

I think there are more pets who get up early compared to sleeping in. Tess sounds like a real sweetie. We appreciate the photos and story.

This is Miss Chloe, a rescue who came to live with us on Christmas. Nobody ever informed her that she is a basset hound, and is instead convinced that she is a beagle. Makes for an interesting life! - Andrew

Ahhh the old Self-Identification Trans-breed Syndrome. Looks like she hit the lottery at your home. Adorable story. Thanks.

Puppy who survives being euthanized gets a home

DAVENPORT, Iowa (WHBF) - There's a puppy at King's Harvest Animal Shelter with an incredible story of survival.
After they shared his story on Facebook, the adoption applications started pouring in.

Rudolph, a 7-month-old Pitbull mix, was euthanized...but lived.

Tell me about it. My cats sound reveille at the ungodly early hour of 6 a.m. It doesn't surprise me that the West Point cadets named the drum and bugle corps that wakes them every morning the Hellcats. (Actually the Hellcats are superb musicians, and entry into the group is extremely competitive, but very few people care about excellent musicianship when they're sleepy.)

36 So sorry about the losses this week -- it never gets easier for any of us. Every week, even if I can't comment (because naptime or social obligations), I recite the names of the pets who went before and I am comforted.

Anyway, too sentimental for me . . .

Old Dog and New Old Dog had a problem this week because New Old Dog is a total and utter klutz and stomped on Old Dog's leg and his claws punctured the skin. I never call kidlet at work and she never calls me at work, but the calls were many making sure that the wound did not fester.

My rather snide take on New Old Dog and klutzy is that if he wants on the couch to sleep on my feet he has to jump up and over the feet. Watching him try to gauge the jump is one of the funniest things I have ever seen. I am mean, but he will never win any dexterity competitions and he knows if he misjudges he is off the couch.

Posted by: mustbequantum at January 19, 2019 03:18 PM (MIKMs)

37 I got my dog at work. She was running with her brother along a railroad track. They were both covered in oil. No tags. Ribs showing...

First meal I gave her was Mogolian Short Ribs from leftover dinner.

I'm sorry if I took your dog, but she had a good life: went to many parks, chased many tennis balls, slept in my bed...

Whenever I grilled steak, I always grilled one for her, too.

She loved veggies, especially red bell peppers and carrots.

Just a prayer for people who lose a dog, and imagine the worst...

41 Last week I mentioned that I'd boarded a draft-cross horse for someone for a few weeks while they found a permanent place and it was lame, lameness had started here and a vet had told them it was shoulder. Well I am very glad I offered to pay for x-rays for it. (they may not take me up on paying even, haven't messaged me an amount yet or aything) After a lot of x-rays and injections the vets finally put aside the "cant be his feet, he moves better when walked on a hard surface for a few minutes" and found he had laminitis.

I had thought the same way when horse was here. Also I did not know that the owners had been giving him sweet feed because he was thinner than his normal before he got more sore. They may not have told the vets either.

But thank goodness for a real diagnosis. He was getting sore here just on hay so he needs to be on thyroid to overcome his Insulin Resistance if just eating hay was making him sore.

RINOs and cucks have always been too stupid to advance conservative causes when pitted against Democrats. They suck at strategy, tactics, and envisioning the what will happen just a few steps ahead if their policies are enacted.

That's a classic. I like the psychological disconnect and how it operates on 2 levels. On one level, the man is inconsiderate. But the dog doesn't rebuke him for that. Instead, the dog acts as if he is awaiting a diagnosis from a physician. He looks worried and when the man gives the prognosis, the dog doesn't blame the man, he acts as if he's just received horrible news, even though it was the man's inconsiderateness that was the cause in the first place. Well that's my analysis. I hope I ruined it for you.

I never thought of red setters as trainable, just lovable goofs, but one of my neighbors had one who would lay his nose down on the property line and look longingly at the kids playing. Still don't know how he did it. My dogs all know that I am not much of a disciplinarian (just like the kids), so unless it is the not touching hands when given treats or not jumping on people, they just give me the raspberry and go on their merry way.

For Derry:

"But what a crowd of memories come back, bringing with them the perfume of fallen days! What delights and glamour, what long hours of effort, discouragements, and secret fears did he not watch over - our black familiar; and with the sight and scent and touch of him, deepen or assuage! How many thousand walks did we not go together, so that we still turn to see if he is following at his padding gait, attentive to the invisible trails. Not the least hard thing to bear when they go from us, these quiet friends, is that they carry away with them so many years of our own lives. Yet, if they find warmth therein, who would grudge them those years that they have so guarded? Nothing else of us can they take to lie upon with outstretched paws and chin pressed to the ground; and, whatever they take, be sure they have deserved."

206 I seem to remember some scarey kind of goddess who had a chariot pulled by mean dogs, don't remember the pantheon.

Freya, the Norse equivalent of Venus or Aphrodite, rode in a chariot pulled by two cats-- cats because the Scandis were well aware of teh kittehs' enjoyment of mating and their high fertility. Supposedly Scandis were particularly fond of orange kittehs, which explains why there are large numbers of orange cats in countries invaded or settled by Vikings.

Most orange cats are male (it's a genetic quirk)-- PDT definitely needs a big hulking orange tom in the WH. One big enough to "edit" Pelosi's face.

271 The base may end up hating this... but if Trump does manage to sign comprehensive immigration reform that will go a long way to securing his reelection. Major legislation is one thing missing from his first term (tax package is de dateable). And its one of the "13 keys" from the Keys to the Whitehouse political prediction theory.

Those Keys for reference...

1. Party Mandate: After the midterm elections, the incumbent party holds more seats in the U.S. House of Representatives than after the previous midterm elections.
2. Contest: There is no serious contest for the incumbent party nomination.
3. Incumbency: The incumbent party candidate is the sitting president.
4. Third party: There is no significant third party or independent campaign.
5. Short term economy: The economy is not in recession during the election campaign.
6. Long term economy: Real per capita economic growth during the term equals or exceeds mean growth during the previous two terms.
7. Policy change: The incumbent administration effects major changes in national policy.
8. Social unrest: There is no sustained social unrest during the term.
9. Scandal: The incumbent administration is untainted by major scandal.
10. Foreign/military failure: The incumbent administration suffers no major failure in foreign or military affairs.
11. Foreign/military success: The incumbent administration achieves a major success in foreign or military affairs.
12. Incumbent charisma: The incumbent party candidate is charismatic or a national hero.
13. Challenger charisma: The challenging party candidate is not charismatic or a national hero.

We've lost Keys 1, 9, and 12. Can't loose 3 more. But unless Oprah runs and or the economy tanks, Trump should be safe. (It will also help with the North Korean situation coming to a successful conclusion.)

My friend got a tattoo of her late dog. She called it "the $50,000 dog." I think that wasn't a joke. She kept him alive via medical intervention years after he was supposed to die.

It made me feel better about my...cat. I still don't want to tell you what I spent on that critter, but I never had kids so maybe I'm square with the universe.

Five grand on a stray cat who had a hole in his diaphragm. All his intestines and organs had crept up into his pleural cavity.

He lived for twelve more years after the surgery.

We were supposed to get a winter storm starting this afternoon but the temps have stayed above freezing, so the storm watch was changed to a flash flood watch. Messy as it is, I'd rather have 2.5 inches of rain than the equivalent in snow. Kittehs of course are grateful to be indoors, warm, and well-fed.

291 Knew a gal at work whose dog was attacked by a coyote in her back yard. It was very late and the only facility open was the Ohio State vet hospital. She said they were so kind to her. Nothing they could do for the little guy but spent time comforting her. She said a week later she got a package from the hospital with small plaster cast of the doggie's paw print. I have to admit I had tears in my eyes when she told me about it. Such a wonderful gesture.

Maybe a dozen out in the community trying to catch known pets...trap cages get non targeted ones who go to the camps.

So far plenty of food and minimal care but long term who knows.

I'm helping as best I can.

There are also 700 humans who have been told they must leave the evacuation camp in 11 days. They are there b/c they don't have any where to go.

323 a - Leftists love science until one asks that if DNA can affect nearly every other trait including height, eye color , (gasp, skin color) but yet... it won't have anything to do with intelligence?
Then why can't I get a litter of super smart kittens able to pick stocks and write Java code?

b - "Because kittens aren't as smart as people. They can't do anything more complex than Fortran or Basic. Same with dogs although some of the really intelligent breeds can do Cobol-or so I've been told.
c - That's only because of their upbringing in a racist environment that disenfranchises them due to human privilege.

324 Last *insert double digit number here* pets brought into home were shelter/rescue adoptions. We have had extreme good fortune with them. Never had to return one. Now that being said ... some had personality/physicality disorders: Bubba J (American Tuxedo) was aggressive and when corrected attacked the hand(use roll of paper, magazine etc); Roxy Mae (Maine Coon) "didn't represent the breed" and was give off by a breeder(pushing her dangling legs outta the way so'se I can use my keyboard): and then there was The Winston - the Amazing Winston, gone too soon from a heart problem .... but the most trusting, loving pet I have ever had the privilege ... Unforgettable Alls!
