The Morning Rant

talking ape.jpg
"I love to hear the MSM whine about Trump calling them 'the enemy of the people.' Because he's using commie phraseology they probably understand all too well. And they're mad because they think only they have the right to determine who are the enemies of the people. Besides, if the media intentionally hides news from us that makes us less safe, constantly misleads us, reports half-truths, fabricates news, spins stories to keep false narratives alive to damage certain people's credibility, flat out lies to us, and even doxes normal Americans who publicly complain about it, how are they not enemies of the people?"

DOJ guidelines are all about indictments though.

About enforcing the law.

A report will be a political document, not a Legal one.

AND, as the DOJ works for the President, NOT the Congress, I'm

trying to figure out under what Statutory or Constitutional power the

Congress can even ASK the DOJ for a 'report'.

Because this is not an oversight matter, its a Legal matter. I

could see the Supremes or a Court asking the DOJ for a report... but...

Posted by: Don Q at November 28, 2018 11:20 AM (NgKpN)

The
whole thing is a scam brought about by Obama holdovers and other
assorted assholes in the DOJ with the aid of the Communists in the
congress. The thing that sickens me is that Sessions allowed it to
happen by "recusing" himself and the Republicans in Congress allowed it
to go forward because the RNCe hates Trump.

True story....

My brother works for a consulting company and the contract he was on ended, giving him 3 months to find a placement. The company wasn't helping much and he was struggling to find anything. He had several irons out, but coming up dry.

A few days before he lost his employment completely, my wife's cat disappeared at night. He never came home as he always did. She prays every night and prayed to get him back. She was coming home for lunch a couple days later and made a deal with God. She asked him that if her cat wasn't home when she got there, she's fine, but would appreciate my brother getting a job. The cat wasn't there.

My brother got a job offer the last day, with 2 hours left in his work day.....

I recall when Tom Hanks' wife started showing up in movies. People seemed to be able to tolerate that. She's not annoying, and she's reasonably attractive (or she was).

The thing is though, what Hollywood stars don't want any of us to say out loud is... yeah, anybody can be a movie star. It doesn't take any special talent, and not necessarily all that extraordinary good looks.

You just have to be able to behave like a human in front of a camera.

120 So I was complaining about how brain damaging The View is on the other thread.

But it wasn't as bad as the woman Rachel Ray, who was on earlier, celebrated for doing something different and awesome - celebrating herself!!!!!!! Because it's not like these days women are constantly feeling empowered by doing mundane or insane crap that just feeds their narcissism.

So what did this awesome lady do? I wasn't listening closely, but apparently someone at a wedding commented about her singleness. So she traveled everywhere taking empowering photos with her un-beringed left hand in the foreground. Seriously.

I am a few weeks away from 40 29 and still single. While I hope to get married before my womb gives up the ghost completely, I have always been happy with my life. I do enjoy being single. But I'm comfortable with it, so I don't feel the need to go around proving anything to... who??

Women are being socialized to be empty-headed griping narcissists. This is why a lot of them feel OK accusing an innocent guy of sex crimes/sexthought crimes just because they are upset/don't like the guy/just feel like it.

Burn feminism with fire, and then nuke it from orbit.

They don't want us, they don't need us, and it is costing way too much. Let them make friends with Ivan Putin and The Chinese All Star PLA. I've been to Europe a couple of times, and I really don't need to go back.

Sometimes he can be unpretentious and down to earth, sometimes he can be a complete Hollywood prick. I've heard stories from people who have met both version of the man.

From Wiki:

The fog-bound harbor near the end is New Harbor, Maine. None of the coastal scenes are the Outer Banks (the setting of the novel), which has neither rocks, bluffs, nor tall pines; nor does the Outer Banks have the roughly 10 foot tides indicated by the docks shown throughout the beginning of the film. Carolina tides average about 5 feet.

( I only rented it because I wanted to see the Outer Banks scenes. I've been from one end to the other, in and out of a bunch of their inlets, and was looking forward to that part. So I was a little pissed that they cheated so thoroughly.)

Ensure the truth cannot be communicated so that people only realize it when it is too late. That's the goal of the MSM and social media as well. As if the CDC deliberately quashed any report of a deadly epidemic because they wanted it to spread until it was at a critical stage at which nothing could be done.

Right.

...And trying to put myself in a Russian citizens shoes, I think I'd be pretty happy with a leader who does what is in *my* perceived best interest, not what is in the globalist / Western European's best interest.

I mean, incentives can align where the best interests are the same, but they won't always. And when those situations happen, I'd prefer my president do what's best for me.

For example, in the '90s, a lot of Russian oil contracts went to US oil companies on unfavorable terms to Russia. There was a lot of political pressure from the US to allow those companies in. Russian's were pissed at what they perceived to be bad deals made by their leadership.

A change in Russian leadership fucked over those US companies. Which sucks for the US companies. But at the same time... it was what Russians thought was in their best interest, so... I mean, I get it.

But that was seen as a horrible break from international norms or whatever by the West.

(and arguably it wasn't in their best interest. the Soviets had done a horrible job at not destroying oil wells, the Americans brought in the technology to clean up some of the contaminated wells and get them pumping again, but that's a different story.)

The average life expectancy for a male in Russia is 66 years. The deal was that you got to enjoy a miserable pension for a few years before you died, and Putin is proposing getting rid of this.

This is worrisome, since Putin may be considering more foreign adventurism to rebuild his popularity - taking Crimea was enormously popular in Russia.

I hate to say it, but the increasingly close relationship between the US and Poland just reinforces the EU's idea that they can go it alone. We have Islam, globalism, a shared distaste for the pompous Western Europeans who look down on both of us as stupid rednecks, we're both energy producers and exporters, and we both are military hardware producers and exporters.

There should be enough common ground between the US and Russia to have a decent relationship most of the time.

Well, I don't know what Russias long-term ambitions are, but I can see their arguments about Crimea and other long-held Russian territories that were broken up by the various SSR's during the Soviet Union for administrative sake, and became parts of other countries after the collapse of the USSR.

Like I get that. Crimea was Russian territory since the 1700's. It's one of their few warm water ports, as it were and is incredibly strategically important to them.

I think we made a mistake in the immediate aftermath of the dissolution of the USSR. Locked into Cold War thinking we not only clung to NATO, we expanded it. I have no illusions about what Russian has become under Putin. But our post-Cold War approach to the region practically guaranteed an adversarial relationship. Hindsight and all that, but in retrospect it strikes me as a mistake.

I'm surprised killing white babies is even illegal in Maryland.
______________

The story I originally read was in the DM, and it just said what the sentence was. I did a little research and found a Baltimore site that reported that the sentence was the result of a plea agreement. After initially denying the killing, the bitch agreed to plead guilty after the CCTV tape showed her clearly abusing (the MD cop who investigated called it "torturing") the baby for about 20 minutes before she piled a bunch of blankets on her and suffocated her. The baby was conscious, and visibly struggling, while the suffocation was occurring. The bitch agreed to plead guilty in exchange for a life sentence, with all but 70 years suspended, and no parole for 35 years.

392 I've been reading some French alt-right blogs, trying to get a feel for what locals are saying about the yellow vest protests over there. The most interesting thing is how much of what they're saying echoes things said here and in the wider English-language dissident/alt-right - especially the contempt for journalists. They hate journalists. I've come across several accounts by French journalists trying to "embed" with the yellow-vest protesters, only to have their cameras smashed or be screamed at and told if they didn't get the fuck out they were going to take a beating. In some cases crowds of protesters were chasing journalists.

If I was a leftist, I'd think it was all a vast right-wing conspiracy repeating eerily similar talking points of obvious falsity since everyone knows journalists are the heroes of the people and champions of good speaking truth to power.

But I'm not a leftist. So there must be some other common cause.
