Conflating moving the American Embassy to Jerusalem (for many years a bipartisan effort derailed by partisan politics) with an increase in anti-Semitism or some evil trade for the deaths of American Jews is just nuts. The facts are clear; President Trump is a friend of the Jews and a friend of Israel. Will he always do what is best for them? No, he will not, but compared to his predecessors he is a "Just Man."

The creation of the state of Israel changed the paradigm of the last two thousand years. No longer were Jews convenient scapegoats who could be bullied and blamed and murdered with impunity. Yes, there are many examples of Jews actively defending their interests, but in the main my statement holds.
If there is a lesson to be learned here, it is that the example of Israel can be extended throughout the world. I am saddened that the tone amongst many American Jews is still that others will be responsible for our defense, and that it is in some way unacceptable to bear arms and take active measures to defend ourselves, our families, our congregations and our religion. Do I blame anyone in Pittsburgh? Of course not. We have free will, we make well-considered choices every day that can have catastrophic consequences. We live in a country that is remarkably free of religious violence, in spite of what the media want us to believe. So the assumption that we will be safe is a reasonable one. Jews have been pretty well hated and scapegoated in lots of eras and contexts, not just the Holocaust. You've got Pogroms in Eastern Europe, Spain in the 1490s, England in whichever year that King had the thing.

This would put Trump and team on the spot, and they would likely realize they dare not fail again (as in the "travel ban" situation), by allowing clearly illegitimate court interference to disrupt executive branch performance of lawful and constitutional duties. The long, long, long over-due repudiation of a lawless court would do more to help the country than every other Trump policy combined (though few will recognize it).

I'm starting to think it's an unfortunate consequence of 1st century Judea. There were many sects. Essenes (ascetics), Zealots (nationalists), Pharisees, Sadducees, Christians, etc.
Unfortunately there was a lot of bad blood and butthurt between the Christians and Pharisees and those wound up being the two most successful sects, the Pharisees forming the origin of modern Judaism and Christianity becoming popular among gentiles and eventually becoming dominated by them, with the result that they were perhaps misunderstanding an internecine quarrel that used overheated rhetoric.
I also think it has to do with what is behind resentment of "colonialism". Indigenous people resent foreign influence even when it is beneficial. Perhaps western gentiles were resentful at having a religion that originated with Jews (and in Matthew, Jesus is especially critical of gentiles), and then having Jews live there who didn't even believe that particular sect of religion.

David Goldman, aka Spengler, has written several essays over the years on this topic, and I can't possibly do justice to his thesis in this space. Thumbnail version is that he posits that Western European Civilization rose as a Christian Civilization out of the grave of Classical Civilization, and that it always had a great Will to Power and pride in itself. But being committed to their Christian writings, they could never get away from the fact that their belief system taught that the Jewish race were the "elder brothers" and first Chosen of God, and they never got away from a bitter resentment of the Jewish race and faith in general for that foundational wound to their pride. And they have been trying to supplant and eliminate the Jewish Race from the start.
Anti-semitism has never been as strong in America as it has in Europe, his theory goes, because those of us in this country has never been as tightly tied to the old cultural values of Europe. And curious that even as Europe slides into Atheism, the old ingrained hatred of Jews remains.

Grafting involves lopping off the old branches.
It is pretty much inherent in Christianity that Judaism without Christ is a dead end - it is through Christ, and only through Christ, that anyone can be saved. Judaism retains a special status because it follows the Law, however, the Law does not lead to salvation.
Jews aren't going to heaven unless they embrace Christ, same as any other people.

Actually you have hit upon one of the huge denominational splits and conflicts between the various Christian Churches. Although they may have lightined up lately, the first view, that Christians Believers have replaced Jews as "The Chosen" is the classic theological view of the RC Church, the old school Lutheran Church, the Episcopals, the Calvinists, especially the Presbyterians - most of the "mainstream" Christian churches. The ones that are dying and fading.
One of the hallmarks of the Evangelical movement, no matter what branch of Christianity it comes out of, is that Evangelicals believe that No, the Jewish Race is STI the Chosen Race of God, and the vehicle through which he will work His Will on this world. And that Christian believers are gentiles who have been grafted onto that vine, and to worship in a different way since they are different.
Which is why Evangelicals tend to be so fanatically supportive of Israel, while the old school mainstream Christians aren't so much.

That's the mainstream "orthodox" Christian view, certainly. However I know many evangelicals - I would dare to say most - who believe that no, the Jewish Race has a separate and older deal directly with God, than the one the Christians have, and in fact it is a much harder one, which is why they have been persecuted so much. And that it is Evangelicals call to support them, and as to whatever is going on between the Jewish Race and God, that's God's business and isn't a thing for anyone else to question or understand.
Of course the mainstream protestant Christians tend to say this just proves how ignorant the redneck evangelicals are, while they put their Beto bumper stickers on their Tesla's.

But in the Western tradition, Man traded knowledge of immortality and paradise for knowledge of morality. Adam and Eve ate from The Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, which is what got them mortality and thrown out of Eden.
I don't think this morality thing is held against Jews, though, because Christians accept the same Genesis tale.

I'm sure what Graham meant is that anyone is capable of being saved through Christ, even those that we might think are beyond salvation. That is not the same thing as saying that God may decide to let some random non-believers in the gate.

To suggest that random non-believers can get to heaven is rather interesting in a number of ways.
What is also being said is that man somehow is entitled to eternal life, even those who reject/hate the Creator.
Second, it says that God is not just, not truth and not holy. Making those claims seems to be insulting - why would those who advocate that sort of thing be in heaven?

John MacArthur likes to hang that "Replacementarian" insult on Amillennials mainly because his reputation as a Dispensationalist demands it.
The doctrinal difference primarily relies on the "grafting in" and the "so all of Israel will be saved" (Ro 11:26) only makes sense if "Israel" is not meant in the congenital sense, but in the Elect of God. The Dispensationalists insist on a "Israel = Jews" interpretation and thus the two-track/Christ-less salvation plan has its place.
It is evil to make salvation a tribal thing when both OT and NT talk about Jews and Gentiles being among the Elect. Those who look down a man's pants and then make a determination on what path that will take to heaven are idiots.

I am. I was actually reading Romans 11 when you posted, and I missed the change in Epistle.
I have no disagreement with the idea that Jews from before the time of Christ were saved. Christ's sacrifice works for them, also - I don't know who would deny that. What I am saying is that anyone, Jew or Gentile, born after Christ's ministry who does not accept Christ will not go to heaven.
Christ is not the second-best way to salvation, as someone up-thread was claiming.

If Judeo-Christianity were true, all followers of God would have a duty to follow the latest revelation that there was.
Let's say Abraham were transported in time to Moses' day. Would he refuse to obey laws delivered to Moses and Aaron simply because they came after him? I doubt it. He'd have an obligation to obey those laws.
Acts 17:30-31 seems to indicate that people have a moral obligation to obey the most current revelation from God. So there are no "dispensations". You can't claim "I'm descended from a different dispensation so I can ignore God's commands at this point in time".
