for property crimes you make them trade part of the life in return.
Physical harm? Do the same to them.
That said there is a barbarity to that that poisons the society.

Bring back some form of capital punishment. And let's streamline the appeals process so that ppl don't live 20 year before they get axed.

No, actually, nitrogen does work, for that very reason. It's a natural gas that we're all used to breathing and we don't detect any odor. Carbon monoxide smells, and carbon dioxide is what we exhale and would make us choke and gasp for breath.
Breathe pure nitrogen and you notice nothing amiss until you lose consciousness.

I'm not much a phone guy and know nothing about cell phone IP networks, and so just looked a little of it. Most of the time, you're getting carrier NAT'd anyway.
But that will change with IPv6. Every cell will get a globally routable IPv6 address. Now, how often it will change, I don't know.

I read it wasn't at all uncommon for games in Babe Ruth's day to be over in an hour. They didn't have breaks for TV commercials and they just didn't dick around as much. I got to read a lot of medical reports from Children's Advocacy Centers. The MDs and RNs writing those reports regularly conflated those two anatomical terms.

Carbon monoxide is an extremely dangerous gas. It does not smell, so the first you will know about it will be either when your carbon monoxide alarm goes off or when you pass out. Worse yet, if somebody near you notices and drags you outside, it won't do any good - carbon monoxide binds more tightly to hemoglobin than oxygen does, so even if somebody drags you outside, you may still die from it.
Any pure inert gas is an extreme suffocation risk. There have been many accidents from people entering tanks to clean them out only to die because there was no oxygen in the tank. It's very fast, because your lungs happily pass the oxygen out of your blood stream into the surrounding gas (permeable membrane, so the oxygen partial pressure must be the same on both sides). The result is that you pass out in (I think) something like 15 seconds without ever knowing anything is wrong.

I read it wasn't at all uncommon for games in Babe Ruth's day to be over in an hour. They didn't have breaks for TV commercials and they just didn't dick around as much. The main thing was no commercials. At the end of an inning, the defensive team ran back to their dugout and the offensive team sent the first batter to the plate. The umpire yelled "Play ball!" There was no break.
But today MLB likes to pretend that intentional walks drag out the game. Yeah, right.

I read an abstract of a meta analysis of "sexual reassignment surgery" that noted that a number of studies had shown no psychiatric improvement as a result of the surgeries - that "transgendered" individuals were just as unhappy, just as depressed, and just as suicidal after the surgery as before.
Normally, when a surgical procedure is shown to provide no benefit, the recommendation is to stop doing the surgery.
That wasn't possible in this case, of course (the authors didn't want screaming mobs of "transgender" individuals harassing them), so the paper's recommendation was to provide more counseling after the surgery.

Watching the Dodgers/Red Sox final innings. It is amazing how a manager takes out a pitcher who is loose & dominating through almost 7 innings, Rich Hill of Dodgers, and brings in nervous reliever(s) who get shellacked. 4 run lead gone. Managers do it all the time, big mistake!

I think I can do one on the cheap by using mildly modified prefabbed metal carport frames.
After I get a quote for the frames and the polycarbonate sheeting, I will get a quote from a horizontal drilling and excavation company about putting in geothermal tubing for air, and then try to get some information about groundwater and temperatures for various depths to see if geothermal even possible.
I have a plan for growing guava.

But yeah, I'm sure that a bunch of millennials, carefully chosen to reflect racial and sexual diversity (if not diversity of thought), could do better than the Founders.

I think the 5 hour thing happened in Bulgaria if I remember right. Its usually way louder out in the crowd, but stage volume could be pretty intense too. There are much better monitor systems these days, so bands can use less stage volume. Back in the day we used brutal stage volume. The high end of my hearing is pretty much gone, mostly because of the drummers. As far as being too old to do 5 hours, thats mostly up to the drummer and singer. The bass and guitar players can pound all night, because we don't need to worry about losing the voice, or the physical demands of being a drummer.

Aside from the sheet music, there is no digital form of music which will degrade as slowly as a high-quality LP.
Put in in there with even the cheapest record player, and receiver with built in pre-amp, and the diagram to connect 'em all, and you're set.
Magnetic media decays, always. Only UltraDisk 24k CDs endure in that format. All lesser CDs decay.
MP3? first gen is already unplayable in many modern platforms.
Analog might not be the "best" sound.
But it'll damn sure outlast all of the others.

Well some drummers are, you know, fucking retards. I played with a few. There are drummers, and then there are beaters. True drummers are a godsend, and the beaters keep you on your toes because you never know where the hell they are in the song. True drummers are a time keeper, and will actually keep the band together. I remember one time, we played a gig with a new drummer, it was his first show. The sound man walked behind my amps during a song, and the twinkle toed spaz master caught his foot on one of the cords and ripped it out of my rack. My guitar went dead, so I had to run behind the amps and see wtf was going on. The other guitar player was hammering and kept things going, but by the time I got it figured out I didn't know where we were in the song, and I had a lead coming. There was one little cue before the lead where the drummer hits the high hat twice. The old drummer never did it, he never had consistent cues. This new drummer was nuts on. I got out from behind the amps and signaled to the singer if the lead was coming, he looks at me like huh? Well right there I hear those 2 hits on the high hat from the new drummer and I knew right where we were in time for the lead. Had that been the old drummer it would had been a dumpster fire.

Well actually there are people that have had plastic surgery to look more like animals. I think typically it's more feline type though. And since that actually seems to happen, I think a better argument is we don't let anorexics starve themselves to 60 lbs because they think they're fat. There's a lot of stuff that can cross that line, and some surgeons will cross it. Somewhere there is a legal line (or at least enforced by the medical boards).
I know my dentist was telling me he occasionally gets people in that want to crazy shit. One I remember was someone wanting "vampire fangs".
He simply says, "No, there is no valid medical reason to do that, and I will not do it." It's an ethical matter of risk vs benefit. If there's no reason to do something, then no risk is acceptable.

That line is subjective. For example, a hard line argument would be that all cosmetic plastic surgery is unacceptable because there is no valid medical reason for it.
But, it gets into well, the patient would feel better about themselves, yada, and the risk is really low, etc. But there is a hard line there somewhere, and it's sort of obvious that genital "reassignment" crosses it.

That would be the 1st single "Love Me Do". IIRC... even Starr is not certain about who appears on which record. There were 2 versions one for the LP and one for the 45. Session drummer did the first one and Starr was allowed to do the other. The reason for the confusion is the sesh drummer used Starr's kit and aped his (very simple) part. Starr reckons he plays on one of them, but can't recall or figure out which one... again, IIRC.

The pros would all KILL to play a gig with Starr. Not only because "Beatle"... but because they're in awe of what he does at the drum-set.
I've read countless tributes from Rock God Drummers from the '70s, 80s', '90s and all of the aughts... the lowest praise was to hold him in high regard, and it went vertical from there.
Starr put the drummer-ry in the back seat to the front of the stage. Lead guitar, rhythm, vocals, etc.
But the solid foundation of a Starr drum pattern, and the Base of a McCartney.... pretty solid place upon which to build legends.
And, they did.

I listen to the drummers a lot. One reason is that I played drums for 6 years, but the main reason is the drummer is a big part of what separates my genre from others and makes it what it is. Its the backbone.

I looked at some of his Gab timline before it was taken down.
He's basically ranting to himself.
On one thread he has exactly three comments so these nutballs are for all intents and purposes muttering to themselves in a corner and not some large group so I don't know how you monitor and police what could be hundreds of thousands to millions of accounts for "extremism" without simply using "algorithems" to shut down "hate" without doing the same thing twitter is doing.
It's a real conundrum.
