Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Trump is the Official Form of the Destroyer for Media/Leftist SmugnessGreat article by someone on the left. The end of the piece describes the author as:So he certainly seems to be a member of the smug leftwing establishment. Here are his thoughts: Like most Democrats, I reacted to the stunning 2016 election of Donald Trump with a combination of confusion and dread. After all, Hillary Clinton was the favorite and, to Democrats like me, a Trump victory seemed to portend certain economic disaster, nuclear war, and pretty much the end of America as we knew it. But now nearly two years into his administration, Trump has presided over a "winning streak" that includes a booming economy and stock market, an unemployment level at a nearly 50-year low, two Supreme Court appointments, no new foreign wars or domestic terrorist attacks emanating from abroad, a significant degree of progress on trade relations with Canada and Mexico, a "needed reset" on the China relationship, and the prospect of peace on the Korean Peninsula. Perhaps it is time that even his opponents reconsider Trump. Does Trump have a strategy that we can describe? Is Trump a return of Richard Nixon, of Ronald Reagan, or of something else entirely? After several months of watching the news without gaining any answers, I finally canceled my cable subscription and sought out other sources. I found some insights in unexpected places. Trump's presidency marks a return to realpolitik and great power politics. No one knows what goes on in Trump's mind or if even he believes he has a strategy. What matters is what Trump does, so this essay looks at his actions, considers the bias of his critics, and seeks a new way to understand his policies. It considers the possibility that Trump has a method to his madness. Comments(Jump to bottom of comments)1

Trump already won once because he took much of the traditional blue collar base in the rust belt. His trade wins, tax reform and resultant capital investment, resultant low unemployment, and lack of interest in starting any new wars will solidify this. I predict a surprising consolidation of Republican power in both houses this November despite or because of the media's frothing attacks as well as the above wins.

The Dems used to be strongly in favor of America First ... especially in saving those union jobs. And we know a bunch of them are on record not that long ago, in favor of border control.
Seems to me it is the globalists and BigMoney that have flipped them to loving ChinaChinaChina ... and they always were friendly with Russia ... till they had to coverup HillaryRussia, by framing Trump with fake "collusion". Globalists and the BigBanks really have the NWO plan, and America in BigDebt is part of it. This should be clear to a guy in international affairs, as tensions rise and currency wars continue. But Trump is not so much about saving the world, but about saving American Liberty from the tyrants ... and aligning with free nations, not communists. Our superpower status could help the world, but it has to also help US first, not the globalists. That's the tricky part, even now, as DeepState conspires. I further admit that I am guilty of organizing a conspiracy for a "palace coup." And this, incidentally, proves the incorrectness of all those passages in the specch for the prosecution made by the Prosecutor, where he makes out that I adopted the pose of a pure theoretician, the pose of a philosopher, and so on. These are profoundly practical matters. I said, and I now repeat, that I was a leader and not a cog in the counter-revolutionary affairs. It follows from this, as will be clear to everybody, that there were many specific things which I could not have known, and which I actually did not know, but that this does not relieve me of responsibility." - Last plea of Devin Stewart in the Case of the Anti-Progressive 'Bloc of Alt-Rightists and Trumpites' Posted by: Hadrian the Seventh at October 12, 2018 04:05 PM (BWL+E) 131

Most of the establishment talks a lot of nonsense because they need to deceive us, so they can serve their CoC masters, and the globalists.
Trump tries to skewer the FakeNarrative ... to drive the message. 1. News media is fake, owned by corporate liars united in deceiving US 2. America First is Good, nations must be sovereign, states also sovereign, the individual sovereign before his God. 3. Trump will point out the flagrant Orwellian hypocrisy ... in flamboyant fashion, because that is how sales works. He is not trying to deceive us, he is selling us on how hateful/commie/racist the left is. Because it is true ... He says America First, he says "there are fine people on both sides", he said he would help black unemployment ... why do they think he doesn't mean what he says? The thing is they were enraged when Obama was in office. You see RAGE! IS WHAT MAKES THEM HAPPY. They are RAGE! JUNKIES.
Look at what Trump does to get back Americans, such as the Christian minister in Turkey: he demands he's released, and when they refuse, he takes action. In Turkey's case, it was sanctions that killed their economy --- and then Trump moved on to other issues. No games, just action + time. IF you think about it, Obama was constrained by ideology. He was predictable in that regard. People wanted to think of him differently because of his race. They changed expectations. But he was really just the same thing in new packaging, and he wanted to use that packaging as a means to quickly advance the Left Wing cause.
Trump isn't an ideologue and therefore he's not constrained to a particular set of principles- other than traditional government. I kinda want to jump off from this point: It sounds like a shitty way to damn with faint praise (or perhaps to praise with faint damnation?). But it actually rings a bit true. Trump does not seem to be operating under the constraints of "A Strategy". To the extent he acts, it seems to be in terms of a single operating principle: What is the Best Thing for America Right Now. So it doesn't really count as a "Strategy" in the classic political sense of a pre-concieved set of victory conditions yoked to a collection of "Thou shalts" and "Thou shalt nots". He looks at what he deems the best outcome for America, and then looks at the menu of options available to realistically bring that outcome to obtain. Look at his foreign trade policy. Look at his maneuvers to reform the Judicial branch. Look at his economic policies. Hell, look at his campaign in 2015-16. He is a true Pragmatist. Something to which the American public as always at least paid lip-service, if nothing else. It goes a long way towards explaining his popularity. The election will probably not clarify much, except to Trump supporters. All of us will regard anything short of a Demofascist rout as some degree of victory, mostly because Chuck Todd (speaking for Democrat partisans everywhere) will probably try to set his hair on fire in his despondency and I for one will actually turn on Meet The Press to see that. And that's the only reason I would watch Meet The Press, or NBC in toto. Anyway, defying history and staying in control of some part (or, ideally, all) of Congress would be pure awesomeness. Radical Demofascists will feel differently, as I say.

"No one knows what goes on in Trump's mind or if even he believes he has a strategy."
Seriously, FUCK this guy. I know I'm supposed to give him credit for something that was obvious last year, but when Trump finished USMCA, that was the end of the 2020 election. Now union voters know that Clinton/ Obama were shamelessly lying to them about NAFTA. 2016 was a leap of daith that has paid off in spades for the American worker. It is possible the Dems will never win an industrial state again, as long as a Trump runs the Republican Party! And that is just one point on the Trump star. Beto will not have the opportunity to run against PDT in 2020. Neither will Booker, Biden, or Sanders. The Donks are on a path to needing to have a woman challenge PDT, in hopes every single Julia actually votes. Otherwise I do not think they can scrape up enough votes.

WitchDoktor, I understand completely.
I still have yet to get a job where I'm shown any real respect or appreciation, after 35 years. I also get EXTREMELY angry when I read bullshit like "Ask A Manager," full of "advice" about how to deal with bullying coworkers and managers. For me, there has NEVER been any way to deal with them except quit and starve. They ALWAYS get their way and they are ALWAYS popular and seen as indispensable by all the popular kids in the office. You know, anyone who has ever worked in commercial real estate knows exactly who and what trump is, and what he is doing.
He wheels, he deals, he threatens to blow things up, then flatters. He finds pressure points and uses them to get what he wants. He brags and blathers. But he wins. What is hysterically funny to me is how these techniques seem to befuddle, confuse, and ultimately overwhelm his adversaries. Posted by: Dean Wormer at October 12, 2018 05:23 PM (ABH6n) 460
