The Saturday Night Joke

Jimmy was having trouble in school. His teacher was always yelling at him, "You're driving me crazy, Jimmy. Can't you learn anything? One day Jimmy's mother came to school to see how he was doing. The teacher told her honestly that her son was simply a disaster, getting very low marks, and that she had never had such an unmotivated and ignorant boy in her entire teaching career. Jimmy's mom, shocked at the feedback, withdrew her son from school and moved out of Detroit, relocating to Cleveland.

25 years later, the teacher was diagnosed with irreversible cardiac disease. Her doctors all strongly advised her to have open heart surgery, which only one surgeon at the Cleveland Clinic could perform. Left with no other options, the teacher decided to have the operation, which was remarkably successful.

When she opened her eyes after the surgery she saw the handsome young doctor who headed her surgical team smiling down at her. She wanted to thank him, but could not talk. Her face started to turn blue, she raised her hand, trying to tell him something, but quickly died.

The doctor was shocked, wondering what went wrong so suddenly. When the doctor turned around to leave the room, he saw Jimmy, now a janitor at the Clinic, had unplugged the life-support equipment in order to plug in his vacuum cleaner. If you thought that Jimmy had become a heart-surgeon, there is a high likelihood that you voted for Hillary.

Fake News. Now Fake Weather.

Weather Channel reporter Mike Seidel was shooting a live segment in Wilmington, North Carolina, on Friday as winds barreled around him

But as braces his feet in the grass, two men stroll not to far behind him and make it look as if the weather isn't truly that bad

The Weather Channel released a statement after the video went viral, claiming that 'exhaustion' and difference in surface contributed to the distinction

The ONT calls Bull Shit.

Embarrassment for the dealership and the VP of Marketing? Well, he has some 'splaining to do.

As vice president of marketing at the largest Porsche dealer in the country, Shiraaz Sookralli personally handled some of Champion Porsche's most valued and deep-pocketed clients. Over the last year, he collected over $2.5 million in customer deposits for dozens of the company's ultra-exclusive 911 GT3 and GT3 RS models.

There's only one problem: The cars never existed, the money is missing, and Sookralli just vanished without a trace.

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream. Unless you're a whiny, self-centered little f*cking POS Snowflake.

Student council members at The University of Wisconsin-Madison are demanding the school change the ingredients in the official university ice cream, claiming that the current ingredients are discriminatory toward some minority students.

UW-M’s official ice cream, the Babcock, contains a beef gelatin additive, which according to the legislation, “renders certain communities such as the Jewish, Hindu, Buddhist, and vegetarian unable to enjoy it without violating their beliefs.”

“renders certain communities such as the Jewish, Hindu, Buddhist, and vegetarian unable to enjoy it without violating their beliefs.”

The legislation, titled “Ice Cream for All,” is already has eight sponsors, including the Chair, Vice Chair, and Secretary of the Associated Students of Madison Student Council. The ASM student council is comparable to a student government senate. The “Ice Cream for All” legislation will be voted on next Wednesday.

No word if the Snowflakes have a dairy to make this new delicious concoction.

A little history for you.

September 15, 1965, The Ford Motor Company became the first automaker to offer an 8-track tape player as an option for their entire line of vehicles on sale in the US. Tapes were initially only available at auto parts stores, as home 8-track equipment was still a year away. via thisdayinmusic.com

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Cumberland County sheriff's detectives arrested two men Thursday who were accused of looting a Family Dollar at 3734 Cumberland Road in Fayetteville.

Randy Mitchell Walker, 56, and Derrick Hilliard, 36, are accused of breaking the store's glass door and taking multiple items, including five cases of Corona beer, dishwasher pods and five bags of chips.

The sheriff's office responded to the store just before 9 p.m. Thursday. About an hour later, Walker called 911 and reported that his home in the 2400 block of Ireland Drive was broken into.

Arrested on suspicion of 6 Felonies and a Genius Award Winner.

When Alexander Edwards, 36, spotted deputies coming to arrest him, he raced toward them in a pickup truck, forcing one to get out of the way, reported The Santa Rosa Press Democrat.

But it was his choice of transportation after crashing his truck into a ditch Saturday afternoon that will be remembered, reported the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Department on Facebook.

Customer service can excel and it did at a Wendy's restaurant. Tonight's Feel Good Story of The Day.

One New Mexico Wendy’s employee is being praised for going the extra mile to ensure that two blind patrons enjoyed their meal.

A fellow customer was so moved by the worker’s kindness that she shared the story to social media, where it has since struck a heartstring with many.

31 Greetings:

I pretty much established my educational reputation in grammar school when I asked our Principal, "Is this a one-parent problem or a two-parent problem?".

I knew that as long as my Mom could be kept out of the resolution, nothing too bad would happen. As Mom used to say about my relationship with my Dad, "They operate on a spectrum that goes from :He's his Father's son" to "They're as thick as thieves.". That latter description was more poetic than realistic.

We were just talking about this today at that restaurant. We'll be there all weekend. It's ten minutes from Chelsea. We could arrive at the site Friday evening, hang around all day accreting Morons at the campsite, and then call over and reserve tables at Smokehouse 52 or the brew pub or whatever down the road that AltonJackson saw, and just shift over to a nice restaurant for dinner. Let us know how many in your party and we can reserve seats for you too, and you can just meet us there. People who want to stick around can come back to the bonfirewolf and chill, others can go back home. Easy!

I really hope you can make it out there. That's kind of the idea, a place for people to hang out by a fire and not have to drive home, but also somewhere close enough to the rest of the world (it's maybe ten minutes to 94) that someone can run out for bagels and donuts in the morning for the campsite, and people who don't want to be outdoors all weekend can swing by from home for a little bit.

I really wish we could have picked a date that would've accommodated clutch, though. Sorry about that Once everyone's out on bond, we'll have another meet-up, I promise.

https://binged.it/2QBDwom

That's the substrate of Michigan: Chelsea and Mason and Charlotte and Grand Ledge and Williamston and a hundred other smallish cities with an eight to twelve block downtown, a supermarket, a couple of churches, A veterans' memorial park, some gas stations and municipal buildings, and a ubiquitous ice cream stand and a pizza place. The state road drops from 55 to 25 or so as you go through it, there might be a stop light or two when M-43 becomes Grand River Avenue for a few miles.

283 Talking about Sherri Finkbine got me a-wiki-ing about Romper Room:

Only one attempt was made to export the program to a South American market, in 1988. The first host was Alicia Gomez-Trauchtenberg (Sra. Alicia), who was fired after nine days when it was found out that she had been a member of a secret Ascuncion chapter of a pro-Nazi group. After a tenth day featuring an (unnamed) accordion player who played thirty minutes of spirituals on an accordion, a replacement was found - Juana Corazon (Sra Juanita). She was fired after seven days after it was discovered that she had acted in at least two pornographic films. "Romper Room" was promptly canceled, and no other attempts were made to further the series in Ascuncion or any other South American market.

409 Well, the TR6 is sold. And, wouldn't you know it, the Lucas gremlins struck again. The lady was driving the car around the block, while her husband remained talking to me. She makes it back, and the engine is emitting quite a loud screeching sound. She shut it down, and it would not crank again. I pulled the starter out, and the pinion was blue, and half ground away, and the inside of the starter was filled with rubble. Ring gear seems not to have suffered much damage. I found a vendor in NY that sells Nippondenso reduction gear starters adapted to fit many Brit cars. Got one on order, will ship Monday. They bought the car anyway, and we bump-started it, and they drove her home. They must have made it OK, no nasty phone calls.

421 true story:

we moved into this position back just after the turn of the century, from herself's condo.

there is apparently an "X" on the roof/yard for all animals, since everyone comes by for food/water/shelter.

awhile back, every evening we'd go out to either do things in the yard (me), or put food down (her) and there would be a blond streak heading to the fence.

me, being me, took to calling after fast retreating kitteh "Shane, come back Shane..." because i'm like that, and this IS where "The Industry" lives...

one morning, during intermittent rain, there was a blond kitteh hanging out on the planter next to BBQ pagoda #1.

friendly, purring, and oh, SO stinky, having caught a dose of giardia from somewhere.

into a box, off to the vet, a couple of lab tests and a quick course of antibiotics, and we had rescued "Shane".... who was *quite* happy to be a house lion.

#Winning!!

except, of course, that, about 3 weeks later, i went out into the yard one evening, and a blond streak headed for the fence.

there is, apparently, a whole "Shane" clan, running around loose here.

regardless, our boy is home.

--Unlike white devils, the Chinese are virtuous and free from the slightest whiff of venial, pecuniary interests in the outcomes of African affairs.

449 Man On Fire, possibly the best revenge flick ever made.

Oh, I don't know. John Wick is probably one of the most satisfying movies I've seen in decades. Not sure where it is in the pantheon of revenge flicks but its got to be Top 10.

--John Wick is excellent. Love, love.

I hold Man on Fire up for aesthetics. After Creasy is shot, and he goes into that public pool . . . that's a baptism. . . . he's born again . . . great imagery.

Taken is also Top 10. Of course.

453 Best revenge flick? Everybody knows the best revenge flick is 'Fatal Attraction' though my vote would be for 'Midway', but YMMV.

454 Just woke to what seemed like an impossibly torrential rain in this part of Los Angeles County. Broken sprinkler near the front door was shooting like a firehose at the underside of the entrance-way. In fourteen years I don't think I've gone more than five months without reporting a broken sprinkler to the property management. My neighbors must be heavy sleepers because I'm often the only one who brings it up.

I'm sensing a use of below rated pressure parts ...

457 Oy.

Roses are red,
Blueberries are for pie,
It's hard to sleep at times,
But I'm going to lie down & try ...

or something like that ...

461 I have seen a few sprinkler brakes, they should put out maybe 10 gallons a minute.

464 I would cut Mike Seidel some slack. He is edging to windward a bit. The two guys in the background are walking to leeward.

Sailboats beating to windward heel and sail flat going to leeward.

465 As a UW_Madison graduate, I put up with a lot of nonsense coming from that place.

But screwing with the incredible ice cream made in Babcock Hall by creative and hard-working Dairy Sci majors is the last straw, dammit.

Leave Babcock Alone!
