Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | HUGE: ACCUSED RUSSIAN SPY GEORGE PAPADOPOLOUS SENTENCED TO... 14 DAYS IN JAIL, AND ONE YEAR SUPERVISED RELEASEHe wasn't charged with being a RUSSIAN spy -- just relentlessly investigated and publicly accused of that. He was actually charged with, supposedly, lying about when he met with Russiagate figure Josef Misfud -- something he denies, and which is of very dubious relevance in any event. His sentence is for two weeks in the clink. Which might actually be too severe for the non-crime he's actually accused of. I don't think they'll be able to squeeze him further.

How does this not annihilate the NYT timeline? If a guy was serious enough to warrant a federal investigation of the political opposition, it's serious enough to warrant years in prison. Just the stuff they used for the FISA court should be sufficient for espionage charges.
Unless it was always bullshit and they know more than a few months in jail risks him being pardoned? Or a serious trial Mueller stands a good chance of losing? Mueller kabuki is becoming very, very tiresome. Yet seemingly sufficient to continue investigating and charging people whose only crime was opposing HillaryRotten. Trump is right to call for the AG to investigate his enemies and go easy on his friends. Because right now the exact opposite is happening. And I will personally cut the testicles off the next NeverTrump stooge like Allahpundit and Paul Mirengoff when they shriek about rule of law. Posted by: nip at September 07, 2018 06:26 PM (DfGpI) 94
Dave in Fla, a few things. First, look at the "conviction" rate (which includes pleas) for federal prosecutions. It's a much bigger different topic but pretty astounding, and very troubling. Basically indictment = plea/conviction.
Second, if you can bear the boredom of looking into this "case", it's idiotic. It's a very very unpersuasive allegation of lying - about nothing of any real importance. That made no difference, in anything. The prosecution's ridiculous attempts to show that it mattered should be read by every intelligent American, so they can see what a farce this "special counsel" is, and by extension what a farce the DOJ has become. Because I'm having a hard time understanding how someone is sentenced to anything when they committed no crime. Posted by: Dave in Fla at September 07, 2018 06:20 PM (PHotS) My understanding is that he pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI regarding the date he supposedly met with Mifsud. In a bar. Mueller will use this as evidence that he needs another 20 years to investigate I wrote out for serious offenders like this.
"There's no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals, one makes them. The one I'm waiting for is the Flynn sentencing - or other developments. I think it's on its third "continuance" (delay). Have never understood the reason for even one delay.
And we may have been tantalized and deceived by tidbits that seemed to indicate the Flynn case would turn into a gigantic deal in the other direction - i.e. legal trouble for Strzok, Yates, et al. And I still don't accept that one has to plead guilty to something untrue or arguable (that's what you're doing, contesting the assertion), especially literally the content of *one* conversation, and that it requires millions of $$ to do so. For someone who was high up in the US intel community, yet supposedly didn't realize talking with the Russian ambassador was of course all monitored? Absurd. And I don't know how the "Rusian bot" case is going. Mueller's clowns (and they repeatedly show a lot of sloppiness and unprofessionalism, shocking I know) were being tortured pretty nicely by counsel for one of the defendants. Judge in that case also seemed pretty unimpressed with Mueller's team or their performance, and at the first hearing he clearly understood that the defendants had called the prosecution's bluff by showing up, which put the prosecutors under a cloud from the outset.

And it's in the Med yet forbids topless bathing. Posted by: Bandersnatch The other weird thing about Malta is that they used to have an entire religion built around Kate Upton -- or at least a fertility goddess who was shaped exactly like Kate Upton, but 5,000 years ago: http://dan.romascanu.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/ the-Venus-of-Malta.jpg This, in all seriousness, is the real reason why Kate Upton stirs men's loins -- she is the physical archetype for what primitive man considered the Goddess of Fecundity. music and there was some swaying and clapping along...I was thisclose to dancing in the aisle. Posted by: IC, now with extra super elite at September 07, 2018 07:18 PM (a0IVu) The Psalms tell us to sing and to clap and to dance. I am making no headway in Lutheran-land, explaining this Biblical truth. Sad. Posted by: grammie winger at September 07, 2018 07:20 PM (lwiT4) ... I have a theory about this. People oppose it because they suck at dancing. We get taught, by experience, how to sing in church. And some people get training on instruments. So we're fine with singing and instruments, except for the Church of Christ, Lord love 'em. I think people are just wrechedly uncomfortable (at some churches) with the idea of dancing because when people do dance in church, they're bad at it. Yeah, i'm talking about white folks exclusively here. We really don't have the category of "church dancing" as something that's taught, unless it's the leaping and spinning with flags, or impromptu whatever I learned in ballet as a kid moderated by the effects of age. There is "dancing" in my church, and I'm glad for the freedom, but it's not anything where if someone came to visit they'd say "boy, I want to learn to do what they're doing". The funny thing about the Beatles vs. the Stones was that the Beatles came from a working class background and became a polished pop band, while the Stones came from a middle class background and created a bad-boy image.

Seems like the sentence was reduced if he'd say something nasty about the President.
At least, that's how I'm taking it. Posted by: Axeman at September 07, 2018 06:19 PM (vDqXW) The most he said (or his lawyer said) about Trump, was that Paps lied to protect his job prospects in the Trump administration and to "preserve a perhaps misguided loyalty to his master". He got a laughable sentence (that has likely been satisfied with time served) because the charges were even more laughable. Just so you know, the word "cuck" is extremely racist.
"Cuck" was invented by White Nationalists to smear good conservatives and NORMAL Republicans, by linking them with pornography of black men having relations with white female wives while their helpless husbands watched (I don't judge these videos, I don't want these videos, but as my Rabbi says, "Who are we to judge?") Using "cuck" is no different than using the N-word. As a Jew, I had all my grandparents murdered by SCAPEGOATING and hate. As a true conservative, I reject the word "cuck"... I reject racism... and I reject Drumpf. Posted by: Jewish Republican at September 07, 2018 09:26 PM (KUQPT) 430
