Ben Sasse: No, I Won't Vote to Confirm Any Replacement for Jeff Sessions

As Kurt Schlichter says: "Sissy."

Sasse is one of the corporate shills who has been trying to impeach Trump at the behest of his globalist, corporate masters since before Trump was sworn into office. He won't vote to confirm any replacement for Sessions because he's part of the plot -- and the plot required, and still requires, the sidelining of Trump's pick for AG in favor of the swamp-loyalist Rod Rosenstein.

So, when you wonder why Sessions is still AG, it's because of Sasse, McCain, Flake, and a few other corporate favor-bankers who are beholden to the same clatch of donors that keep Bill Kristol's unread magazine in print.

For more on Sasse, and also about the corporate-subsidized Conservatism, Inc. media, see Comfortably Smug here and here.

Anyone who can say what Sasse has been saying is just as stupid, or just as vile and opposed to rule of law, as all the despicable Dems. Schlichter is good for high school-grade taunts, not much more - oh, and he seems a bit lightweight in some areas (he approvingly repeats crap from some of the lame "conservative" pundits).

The most powerful agencies of govt. were grossly, obviously abused for political purposes, the AG has recused himself from nearly every priority matter under his purview, and this idiot pretends to believe that Sessions is somehow vital.

In any case, starting to like my idea of a post mid-term resignation from Sessions, and a put up/shut up moment for wastes of space like Sasse. His state *really* wants to see one of their senators fighting to promote destruction of our system, against an effective and popular president?

Posted by: rhomboid at August 24, 2018 06:14 PM (QDnY+)

Trump is going to lose the "replace sessions" fight. The only way he will be able to replace him is if one of two things happen:
1. republicans score big in November and gain 5+ seats in the Senate.
2. Trump wins reelection in 2020.

Anything else and Trump is stuck with sessions.

Which is pretty much why I stopped downloading the show. People would mention some name and I'd say "oh yeah, he sounded nice, what's he up to?" and they'd look at me like I had a dick growing out of my forehead because the person they were talking about had just publicly sworn a blood oath to Nancy Pelosi or something.

The voters have permitted incredibly crude, artless liars and thieves to attain power and keep it, and thwart their will. Trump is a reaction to all that.

Trump's been riding Sessions' ass since he got confirmed as AG.

What gets you into conspiracy-theory territory are the reports that Sessions offered his resignation which Trump declined.

217 Thanks to slo-mo-Jeff, the statue of limitations is getting close to kicking in on a number of Hillary and her cabal's crimes. From a 2017 American Thinker piece --

The FBI wished to prosecute Alger Hiss for espionage, but the Justice Department indicated that the statute of limitations had run out, and Hiss was convicted of the lesser crime, perjury, for lying to the FBI.

Although federal statute USC 3282 provides for a five-year statute of limitation for the vast majority of federal crimes, this statute of limitations does not necessarily stand in the case of espionage prosecution. It is generally agreed by legal scholars that acts of espionage can be prosecuted for at least ten years after the alleged act.

So she and her cronies will skate, since she left as SoS in 2013. There's more at the link:

Cicero's quote about traitors seems apropos:

A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself.

I wonder how much the WH is tracking this. There may be more recent crimes to prosecute, but FFS time matters, one reason the generic calls for patience are naive or misinformed in specific cases.

If the administration fumbles this, and fails to prosecute the unbelievable crime wave of the Obama years, it will have failed in perhaps its most important job.

291 Nebraska has some pretty neat places.

I've canoed in the Missouri River from Indian Caves State Park, canoed the Niobrara River and played in all the waterfalls, seen the buffalo around Valentine, and found a mistake in the SAC Museum, based on one of my deployments north of Libya. The Sand Hills are very pastoral and bucholic.

And I saw the eclipse last year at a uncrowded country club in Beatrice, Nebraska. One of Beatrice's claims to fame is it was a setting for several early Edger Rice Burroughs novels.

And it is the hat of Kansas, with a snow fence keeping out the Alberta clippers in the winter. Sometimes.

292 What's his definition of "executing?" The leadership of the FBI and DOJ have acted inappropriately, if not criminally. Mark Levin has listed them quite clearly.

Anyway, there is literally SO much criminal activity under the rubrics of "Clinton" or "Obama", that it's easy to mix different elements up. Ortel is the real deal, I believe the premier sleuth of his type (think he had something to do with uncovering Enron financial funny business), so he's one of those rare substantive true experts I take seriously. Posted by: X-ray at August 24, 2018 06:59 PM (E6K2A)

340 I think it's more complicated thanks that. I believe the corporate class and Uniparty are working on a divide and conquer strategy between Trump and Sessions. By these people virtue signaling that they are siding with Sessions, when they never have before or anything MAGA for that matter, is another red flag just like Miss Gramnesty signaling he wants Sessions gone.

Trump could fire Sessions and appoint anybody to the the AG as long as they have been confirmed by the Senate in the past.

I think a lot of people are taking the bait here on Sessions and are falling for the coordinated attack and psyop on Sessions.

If I'm wrong, I'll gladly eat crow. I've learned patience when it comes to Trump during the primaries and waited to see how things played out and have yet to be very disappointed to the point of setting my hair on fire and slitting my wrists in dispair and outrage.

That's very kind of you. I am looking forward to it. I hope I am not the only person there (although some people have said they would come) because that would make me sad. I think it's wonderful you are so hospitable. I'm not good at party planning or cooking for groups so they get the restaurant/bar with the front room.

I agree. Someone here linked an old newspaper clipping about him making propaganda films for the North Vietnamese. I wish I'd saved it.

367 >>I don't believe "sources say".

One of those sources is Reince Priebus. Whatever you think of him he has said it publicly and claims he tried to talk Sessions out of it. He couldn't but Trump didn't take his resignation. Nobody has ever publicly denied this happened.

Posted by: JackStraw at August 24, 2018 07:06 PM (/tuJf)

368 Trump needs to start firing people, arresting people, and throwing punches.

Being civil and playing by the rules set up for us by our enemies is a fool's game. They don't play by any rules, and we can not allow our enemies to define what is a crime, and what is not a crime. And we certainly need to stop letting our enemies convict us of something that is only a crime because they say it is while we are forced to ignore the actual crimes our enemies commit every day.

Otherwise, there will come a day when we are arrested for being not progressive/democrat and should that day ever come, the shooting will start, and if that happens, the only thing that matters is who is still alive when the shooting stops.

369 A naive, friendly Nebraska farmer at a big city hotel bar is vulnerable to being seduced by an attractive hooker who hits him up with compliments on his intelligence and savvy.
Senator Sasse in DC is the political equivalent of that simpleton farmer. The DC establishment has seduced him and used him.

Such as "suspending his campaign" to vote for a bank bailout that the overwhelming majority of Americans opposed.

I read an article at PJ Media a few years ago that postulated that his pick of Palin for VP backfired like "The Producers" when she became an unexpected smash hit. It's an interesting theory. I wish I'd saved that article, too.

I was watching one of his televised town hall campaign events when he let his exasperation show about Palin getting all the questions while he was being ignored by his audience. I have no doubt that McCain was pissed that Palin was a popular public figure and he was not the hero he thought he was.

I thought this was a well known fact that McCain was in it to lose it and picked Palin believing that she would sink ticket without him having to overtly do so like he did.

You aren't wrong. Globalism is Satanism. It is the government of the fallen ones. This has been their aspirations since before the flood and that corruption of God's creatures is the reason for the first Flood. Next time it will be fire.
