Trump is going to lose the "replace sessions" fight. The only way he will be able to replace him is if one of two things happen:
1. republicans score big in November and gain 5+ seats in the Senate.
2. Trump wins reelection in 2020.
Anything else and Trump is stuck with sessions.

Ricketts is loaded and I think I remember something about the family opposing Trump early on. Ricketts himself apparently is a strong supporter of Trump and that's even with the tariffs that have the farmers in a tizzy.
I don't know if he'll pull the trigger. He has denied rumors that he will challenge him, but he did run in 2006 so you know he's interested in it.

If he fires Sessions, they'll use it as ammo for an obstruction charge. There's no working around him - that's the point of the recusal. His role here is to keep the AG's seat warm while Rosenstein and Mueller run the DoJ for purposes of the coup attempt.
My guess is, he's hoping to humiliate and shame him into quitting, which won't happen because, as Kreplach likes to say: "Jeff Sessions is a disgrace."

What gets you into conspiracy-theory territory are the reports that Sessions offered his resignation which Trump declined.
Reasons range from "No replacement would get through the Senate" to "Trust The Plan."
Only Sessions and Trump, I suspect, know the truth.

I see allusions to zillions of sealed indictments, and of course outlandish, dead-certain pronouncements on what that must mean, but never any actual confirmed info.
I thought Clinton foundation investigation was under way by 4 US attorneys (Little Rock, LA, two other cities).
Anyway, there is literally SO much criminal activity under the rubrics of "Clinton" or "Obama", that it's easy to mix different elements up. Ortel is the real deal, I believe the premier sleuth of his type (think he had something to do with uncovering Enron financial funny business), so he's one of those rare substantive true experts I take seriously. And he seems apoplectic about all this stuff he's documented just slipping away.

Nebraska is similar to Kansas. Taking the Interstate in either one, for some reason, takes you through some very bleak land. But get off the freeway onto the two-lane roads and you start to see some very neat towns, rivers, low hills, etc.
