House Intelligence Committee Release Summary of Findings in RUSSIA Probe

Some of the more notable ones:

Findings #11-#4 discuss the insufficiency/inadequacy of the government's response to Russian trouble-making. Finding #14 says "The Executive Brach's post-election response was insufficient," which references both Obama's administration and Trump's.

In Finding #15, the House Intel Committee says most of the Intelligence Community's judgments "employed proper analytic tradecraft," but in Finding #16, they say the IC's judgments as to Russia's motives -- the IC declared they wanted to help Trump -- "did not employ proper analytic tradecraft."

We already had that finding tipped, as members mentioned that in interviews.

Finding #20 notes that thusfar none of Mueller's indictments relate to any "collusion, coordination, or conspiracy between the Trump campaign and Russian government."

Interestingly, Finding #21 is blank, and simply says "[classifed]."

I'm pretty sure it's something damaging to the Democrats' theory or else Adam Schiff would have leaked it to his palz at CNN already.

Finding #22 notes that General Flynn was charged with, and pled guilty to, making false statements to the FBI, though the agents actually interviewing hin "did not detect any deception."

Finding #23 notes that Executive Branch officials "did not notify the Trump campaign that members of the campaign were assessed to be potential counterintelligence concerns."

Interesting, that. This seems part of Obama's plan to hide information from Trump. They weren't looking to warn him about security concerns; they were willing to risk national security if they could get a good media leak out of it.

Finding #25 notes that none of the Russian nationals or Russian organizations indicted for interference in the election have "provided evidence of collusion, coordination, or conspiracy between the Trump campaign and the Russian government."

Finding #26 says there is no evidence of Trump's pre-campaign business dealings having anything to do with collusion.

Finding #27 states what's pretty obvious, to all but the most diehard CNN idiots and NeverTrumpers: Two fringey, flakey "foreign policy advisers" wound up briefly joining the Trump campaign precisely because the Establishment opposed Trump so stridently, and hence, Trump resorted to just looking for warm bodies.

Finding #28 repeats the debunking of the Rachel Maddow claim that the change in the GOP platform weakened the GOP's position on the Russian invasion of the Ukraine. In fact, as everyone who isn't a hack knows by now, the platform change strengthened the party's position on Ukraine. This was #FakeNews from the first.

Finding #29 says that there is no evidence Trump had anything to do with the theft of DNC emails, but does chide Trump associates for their "numerous ill-advised contacts with Wikileaks."

Finding #30 is similar, stating that Carter Page did not travel to Moscow for the Trump campaign, but fretting about his "seemingly incomplete accounts of his activity in Moscow."

Finding #32 says that George Papdapolous was unsuccessful in his own private goal of setting up a meeting between Trump and Russia.

Findings #33 to #34 note the "contacts" between Trump campaign personnel or surrogates with Russian officials, but deem them inconsequential or not even about US politics.

Finding #35 notes the obvious: Talk of setting up a "back channel" to Russia suggests that there was no collusion at all, as any kind of ongoing collusion would completely obviate the need for any "back channel."

You don't need a "back channel" when you're "colluding" on the front channels.

Finding #38 notes someone who did receive information from Kremlin officials -- Chistopher Steele. And of course, Finding #39 notes he he then passed that information on to Hillary Clinton, making Hillary Clinton the only candidate in 2016 documented to have received information from Russian government sources.

The next section concerns leaking against Trump. Finding #41 states that leaks about claims that Russia sought to help Trump increased "dramatically" after election day, whereas, as Finding #40 says, before election day, the leaks concerned Russian efforts to merely "sow discord."

Suddenly people like John Brennan, I guess, completely changed his narrative from "sow discord" to "help Trump."

Which was, coincidentally enough, the exact same determination Hillary Clinton's staff made the day after the election, according to Shattered.

Finding #44 is my favorite:

Former Director of Nation Intelligence James Clapper, now a CNN national security analyst, provided inconsistent testimony to the Committee about his contacts with the media, including CNN.

Let me tell you what that's about: Clapper or one of his flunkies was a source for the original CNN story, authored by Evan Perez, Jake Tapper, Jim Sciutto, and one other who I forget, reporting that Trump had been briefed about the "salacious and unverified" Russian dossier.

And then of course that coincidentally gave the media the pretext to run stories about that dossier, which they hadn't done previously, precisely because it was entirely unverified.

And Clapper gave "inconsistent" accounts of what he told CNN in his testimony to a Congressional committee.

No big deal -- he lies with impunity to Congress frequently.

That's the end of the findings; the document then turns to Recommendations.

I'll add more if I find more good stuff, but I need to get a post up, so I'm hitting publish.

I saw something recently about how the Kennedys had a back channel to the Kremlin and it freaked out Kruschev because he came from a top down hierarchical world. But it had been established and he got to understand that that's how things worked and it was useful in us not blowing each other up over Cuba.

So, if back channels to Russia are suddenly bad what does that mean about JFK and RFK?

He plead guilty for the following reasons..

Muller was threatening to go after his son.

They had audio recordings of his interactions with the Russian diplomat and trapped him with specifics that nobody could remeber

The investigation bled him financially and whereas a Donk in a similar situation could count on lawyers jumping out of the wood work to defend, Flynn had to pay through the nose for legal represnentation.

What has been done to Flynn is abominable people should be hung for the criminality, corruption and injustice visited upon him.

135 Repost from a few days ago:

Mueller actually has a big exposure. He's either complicit in framing Flynn, or was used as a catspaw.

The framing of Flynn ties several players together. Strzok was the point. His texts show his links to a corrupted federal judge (Contreras) who gave the FISA warrant AND was about to convict Flynn, before he was forced to recuse himself. Strzok changed his official FBI report on orders from McCabe.

And Strzok links to the corrupted acting DOJ Sally Yates who ran the frame of Flynn, and who got unmasked transcripts from someone like Susan Rice.

And Mueller brought the case against Flynn, and got a plea by threatening Flynn's son and by failing to turn over exculpatory material. And he hired Strzok to work on his team to be the go between with other players.

This alone is a scandal for the ages.

Will Strzok (or his boss Priestap) sing ... Let us pray!

well, as andrew mccarthy pointed out, this isn't really a crime but meuller created a new one off of it. Conspiracy to defraud the government. Ultimate bullshit.

This is the problem that constitution specifically deals with vague criminal laws. You can't create a new crime especially considering an area that is lightly enforced. An area lightly enforced because it's ulatimately an area of free speech that has no boundaries.

Yes and no. Here's the relevant part of the designation letter:

The Special Counsel is authorized to conduct the investigation confinned by then-FBI Director James 8. Corney in testimony before the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence on March 20, 2017, including:
(i) any links and/or coordination between the Russian government and individuals associated with the campaign of President Donald Trump; and
(ii) any matters that arose or may arise directly from the investigation;

It's sub (ii) that's the problem. One could read as meaning it needs to relate to teh RUSHUN CULLOOZHUN, or it could be construed as giving Mueller carte blanche to do whatever the hell he feels like while carrying out the substantive portion of what we was actually appointed to do.

After Clapper claimed, falsely, that no one in his office had leaked to CNN about the Dossier briefing, a later closed-door hearing was held. And in this second hearing, when he realized people knew some things, he admitted to being a source.

Thus: "inconsistent statements."

Just pure speculation. Speculation and nothing but.

The GOP and President after signing this monstrosity will be giving the Donks everything they need to campaign on in the Mid-Terms.

The only thing the GOP will be able to run on is tax cuts but the the Donks message will be, the GOP gave you crumbs we gave you Pork!!

Couple that with a few strategic deployments of the Roy Moore Gambit and the mid-terms could very well be a blood bath for the GOP.

The GOP is a useless pile of dog shit.

The idea is supposed to be that if you discover evidence of some other wrongful activity in the course of conducting the primary investigation you can pursue it, rather than having to turn a blind eye, which is fine. What Mueller appears to be doing is using this as a primary mandate.

I mean, I argue with the many lawyers working here in the comments of AOS about this all the time. I see what you're saying. But here's what I'm saying. You, as the client, tell your fucking lawyers to stop working. "Just stop, no more money. You have a $20K retainer, you blow past that...stop. I'm not Enron."

And when your lawyers tell you their lawyers aren't stopping and your're the only one that might end up in jail what do you do?
Posted by: Deplorable Male Logic at March 22, 2018 01:45 PM (lKyWE)

265 >>One thing I learned about congress, they like to investigate stuff and put out reports and then say "there, all done".

Sometimes Congress does actual investigations, this is not one of those times.

They are the public face of what is going on with the IG's investigation, dribbling out stuff in small bites so the public can start to see where all this is headed so that when the IG report hits it won't come as a total shock.

Well it will to the media and the left but they don't deal in reality anyway.

Every single thing we currently know about what went on came from the IG investigation. From text messages to the firing of McCabe, it's all part of his investigation.

And when your lawyers tell you their lawyers aren't stopping and your're the only one that might end up in jail what do you do?"

Let me tell you how that works in real life - I was financing a family law case for a close family member, was hoping to keep it to 10K costs. And btw, the lawyer was very good, very professional, this is just how it works in the legal biz. He called me and said "well we spent the 10k, and by your instructions I should stop, and I will if you'd like, but you should know there's a hearing next week that could decide this case one way or the other." Knowing that the other side was quitting, I said ok. Of course the hearing lasted a half day and the Judge got annoyed since she had other cases and postponed the entire thing for 6 months, for no reason other than she felt like it.

long story short, I ended up spending 30K to get a settlement that we could have had at the beginning for free.

If you are worried about money, do everything you can to not get involved in a legal case. that's all I can say.

399 135 Repost from a few days ago:

Having been in in a similar type of position (lawsuit against a company with deep pockets), I can confirm that you have no say into what you spend. It costs what it costs. You either be prepared to defend yourself completely until the end or give up, which is what Flynn decided to do. Mueller's tactic was to bankrupt him into confessing and there would be no stopping until he did, with the added punishment of attacking the son.

416 "Do you think the Intel Committee releasing it's report suggests that the IG is close to releasing their report?"

Trump said that there'll be a big reveal in mid-April. The hiring of lawyer Joe diGenova is a related development.

437 Having been in in a similar type of position (lawsuit against a company with deep pockets), I can confirm that you have no say into what you spend. It costs what it costs. You either be prepared to defend yourself completely until the end or give up, which is what Flynn decided to do. Mueller's tactic was to bankrupt him into confessing and there would be no stopping until he did, with the added punishment of attacking the son.

438 Ok, one last time. This is a criminal case. There are, ultimately, charges that the prosecutor has to present and prove. There is no pretrial discovery like a corporate merger. You have the right against self-incrimination and a right to a speedy trial.

So, let's assume Meuller was like "I'm going to charge your kid with conspiracy to defraud bc he didn't get a FRA license." How does that justify you spending all your money on your own case pretrial?

"oh...but Chaos!, Samsung v Apple, the lawyers cost $1000 an hour and their legal bills approached nearly billion dollars, so obviously a non capital offense with pretty cut and dried evidentiary would...let me ballpark it, cost about $23 million dollars just to get to trial and another $65 million for actual trial. I shit you not, I got a traffic ticket and I had to sell my lungs."

ok, that's insane, it's not the same thing, and you can say no.

Be savvy. Don't give up your life savings.
