It's not just this, of course. A friend noted the other day that a dating app he uses was now banning all references to guns. Another friend asked, "Have you ever seen a single corporation offer a similar Virtue Signal to the right? Has any corporation run a commercial or campaign similarly expressing solidarity with right-leaning traditionalists on any issue?"

Do any corporations attempt any kind of similar cultural courting of the right, transmitting the right's values or at least subtly portraying them in a sympathetic light?

I know you might say Chic-Fil-A, and, well, okay, but Chic-Fil-A may well be a conservative-lead, conservative-leaning organization, but it's not making any kind of conservative messaging part of its public branding. (Except its well-known, but not advertised, Sunday-is-a-day-of-rest-and-worship policy.)

The closest I can imagine is some corporations' cynical use of vague military imagery. But Spoiler Alert -- a lot of those corporations are being paid by the military to do so. They're not celebrating the military out of the goodness of their own hearts.

Looking at you, NFL.

The messaging from almost all sectors of our society -- from corporations, certainly from the tech companies, from entertainment media and the part of the entertainment media branded as "news," from our universities, which grant the left a license to assault, and from our government itself -- is a constant warning to conservatives: You are isolated, outnumbered, and completely alone, and if you wish to be left unmolested, you must Join Or Die.

That being said, ace is right that all of this sends a message of exclusion. After all, when I saw that McDonald's stuff and that Bing has the insipid girl in front of the bulls at Wall Street as the picture today and the other stuff about International Women's Day, my first thought was "You don't mean me." Because they don't. They don't mean me. I'm not actually a woman because of my politics and that's what all of those symbols say to me. My existence is negated.

The vast amount of our work takes place in the daytime. However, we do sometimes have to work at night. And not always in the most pleasant of areas.

It is my policy that I never make the women work at night because of the possible risks that they might be subjected to.

What say the ettes? No difference in pay from day to night btw.

Chick Fillet wasn't courting the right, they were standing for inherent values. Most corporation values are what shareholders want, which is to make money, and not get negative press.

They make decent coffee and and the egg mcmuffin was ok and not a big mess.

The last time I was driving the 113 in Delmarva I stopped at a "24 hour" McDonald's.

They did not sell coffee the poor girl working the box was in a bullet proof cage and only had precooked stuff from when the main store close for sale.

Basically burgers cooked at 10pm at 5:30am I felt bad so I bought a coke from her, then drove to a Hardee's an got coffee and a biscuit 30 miles down the road.

Have not been back to a McDonald's since.

We had two, presumably straight, married women in the previous 28 years I attended.

Gay wasn't the issue. Sat behind a gay guy in church for years. The problem was the organist was MARRIED to a MAN. Hired by our Baptist church. Then we were called hypocrites and bigots because we protested.

Usually isn't an issue with the women, I don't want to generalize but I've only seen a few women who approach the skill of the really talented male organists. And now of course I'm speaking of the people who play the multiple bank room filling pipe organs, the ones with 26' long pipes for the base notes. To hear someone who can make one of those sing is truly glorious.

It just so happens, that whatever combination tends to make a men incredibly skilled at that, also seems to cause him to be gay. I like great pipe organ music, and I'm not bothered by gay men, so I've been friends with several.

btw - the married gay organist recently hired at an Episcopal Church - if that's in upstate North Carolina, I might know that guy. Heh. He's a brilliant musician.
