FBI/DOJ Leak Yet Another Misleading Piece of Shit to CNN
CNN has a story out, leaked, of course, from FBI/DOJ sources doing pre-buttal work for the FISA Abuse memo, stating that Peter Strzok wrote the first draft of the letter Comey sent to Congress announcing the news that the FBI was re-opening the investigation into Hillary's emails after the FBI's New York office found Hillary Clinton's emails on Anthony Weiner's computer.
From this, you are to conclude that this Peter Strzok, despite texts showing not only a partisan animus but sheer partisan terror over Hillary possibly losing to Trump, was nonetheless a fine, upstanding, unbiased FBI agent, just doin' his job. Yeah here's the trouble with that: The New York FBI office is the one that discovered the emails, and they were pressuring the DC office to actually act on the evidence they'd delivered to them weeks ago, which McCabe and Co. -- straight shooters all, CNN would like us to know -- were sitting on. I guess CNN doesn't remember any of this, or doesn't know how to use the Google Machine.From the New York Times, October 29, 2016:
The New York FBI office knew this on October third or thereabouts. But Comey did not send his letter to Congress until the 28th. But the New York office of the FBI knew -- and they knew that for 24 days or so, the FBI headquarters in DC was slow-playing this.
After reports surfaced late last month that Mr. Weiner had sent illicit text messages to a 15-year-old girl in North Carolina, top prosecutors in Charlotte and Manhattan jockeyed for the case. Senior officials in the Justice Department decided that if there were a prosecution, it would take place in New York under the supervision of the United States attorney there, Preet Bharara. Almost immediately, it became clear to investigators that the Weiner case might reignite the Clinton inquiry. ... On Oct. 3, F.B.I. agents seized several electronic devices from Mr. Weiner... While searching the laptop, the agents discovered the existence of tens of thousands of emails, some of them sent between Ms. Abedin and other Clinton aides, according to senior law enforcement officials.
... In conversations this month, senior Justice Department and F.B.I. officials agreed that the matter was worth pursuing. By law, though, agents and prosecutors in the Clinton investigation could not immediately read the new emails without court authority. The authorities decided only recently to seek that approval.Why did they wait until after Comey's letter to seek approval? Could it be -- McCabe and co were stalling for time? By the way, the Department of Justice argued against notifying Congress;
After hearing the Justice Department’s argument, Mr. Comey concluded that the ramifications of not telling Congress far outweighed concerns about the department guidelines, one senior law enforcement official said.By the way, Strzok also did not want to alert Congress about this, which even CNN admits. Why did Comey eventually announce this to Congress? Not because he, or Strzok for God's sake, was some high-minded patriot. It's because he knew for a fact that word of the emails would leak, either from the DC headquarters or the New York office.

And we know now full well how good Comey is to getting his thoughts to the media through his "colleagues." So there you go -- this wasn't Peter Strzok making this decision, he was just writing the letter for Comey, who'd decided to send the letter to Congress because he knew he was siting on Hillary's emails (and in fact knew that he was sitting on emails that he hadn't known about for weeks -- someone below him kept that information from moving up the chain of command, it appears). I hope CNN will let me know what breathless claims the FBI/DOJ gets into their hands next, and I hope they continues doing no critical inquiry whatsoever into the partisan, ass-protecting leaks they receive.

Think Pournelle's Iron Law. I don't think Comey was trying to protect Hillary per se, he was trying to protect the institution of the FBI.
Which, under Loretta Lynch and Barack Obama, meant bending over backward to give Hillary the benefit of any possible doubt that could be created.
But if it leaked late in campaign season that the FBI was sitting on possible wrongdoing for political reasons, that's damaging to the Bureau.
Comey has done his very best to serve, not the American people, but the institution of the FBI. Now he'd like us to believe these amount to the same thing.

Hillary blames Comey (and 1000 others) for her loss, but maybe the real issue is she was an agent of the global mafia, selling America's secrets, helping to overthrow European countries' sovereignties (via the Libya regime change and subsequent Muslim invasion).

Apparently there were four, count-em four US Attorneys who wanted to convene Grand Juries (so as to gain Subpoena power) to investigate the Clinton Foundation, and Loretta Lynch personally vetoed it. I believe this included US Attorneys in New York, Florida and Arkansas.
The only speculative part from D Morris was whether the infamous "tarmac meeting" that was never supposed to be made public, was to inform Billy Jeff about this, or simply about the no-charge fix in the email criminality.
I think a seemingly small but incredibly telling fact that should be absolutely investigated is whether, in fact, Billy "surprised" Loretta on the tarmac, or whether it was in fact a mutually arranged meeting, done in such a way as to evade/cover up the fact that it ever happened (no actual building address to sign into, etc).
Remember that POTUS has a paper trail wherever he goes by virtue of the Secret Service detail etc, so to me it makes perfect sense. An intentional meeting with the spouse of a supposed target of an FBI investigation alone, should be a fine start to a conspiracy to obstruct justice investigation.
After they clean house at the FBI and expose the deep state shenanigans there they need to seriously investigate Lynch who, from the face of it, appears guilty as hell of obstruction.

Oh, I think he is petty and spiteful enough to have been actively involved. Someone else likely did the heavy lifting (planning, coordination, etc.), but this is right up Obama's alley. Time to suck the septic tank dry of anybody in the leadership of DOJ/FBI who had any role in these investigations, and honestly, any staffer, special agent or other minion involved. Nuremberg proved beyond any shadow of a doubt that "just following orders" is not a defense, and what these men and women did was against the law. Jail sentences and whatever other harsh punishment available needs to be applied liberally.

Hillary needed to enter the Presidency with as little baggage about the emails as possible. Covering up the pieces still out there while President is still covering up and she couldn't afford to have someone specifically still looking into the issue while she covered it up. I think she looked at her polls (Bill did actually) and they made a decision to get it out there before the election because she was so strong in all the bellweather states.
We already know that Strzok was in direct communication with Bill Clinton from earlier texts that came out. I think he was given his marching orders. Get the Weiner problem out there before the election...get it exonerated by the FBI...so she can enter the Presidency without anyone looking around while she went to work silently covering it all up once she took office.
You will recall that they went through all those emails in record time and came to a conclusion of no problems in a matter of days. It was right before the election so she was confident in the polls being the most accurate. Personally, I don't think Bill liked doing it. We watched him age about a decade over a couple weeks. Frail, sickly looking.
I have no doubt that Strzok wrote the first draft. I think he was told to...and if they ever recover those missing texts...I think we'll see the coordination between him and the Clinton campaign.
