Supposedly Silicon Valley & San Fransisco Idiots are Paying $60 for 2.5 Gallons of "Raw Water," Which Is Just Water That Still Has All of Its Natural, Nutritious Cholera

The sort of people who want to pay $24 per gallon of untreated, bacteria-filled water are exactly the sort of people I want drinking untreated, bacteria-filled water.

So chin-chin, evolutionary dead-ends!

Silicon Valley is developing a "raw water" obsession.

In San Francisco, "unfiltered, untreated, unsterilized spring water" from a company called Live Water is selling for up to $61 for a 2.5-gallon jug -- and it's flying off the shelves, The New York Times reported.

...

People are gathering gallons of untreated water from natural springs, venturing out onto private property by night to get the water, according to The Times.

...

The cost of a 2.5-gallon jug had increased to $61 from $37 since The Times published its article on Friday.

...

Though fans of the untreated water are not backed by science, many told The Times they felt confident they were getting health benefits from drinking it.

For example, Mukhande Singh, the founder of Live Water, told the publication his startup's water expired after a few months -- something he said was normal for "real water."

"It stays most fresh within one lunar cycle of delivery," Singh said. "If it sits around too long, it'll turn green. People don't even realize that because all their water's dead, so they never see it turn green."

Yes, their water is dead of all waterborne pathogens.

Do these people think that "live water" has midichlorians in it?

Nope, not midichlorians. Cholera feasting on feces in the water!

As JackStraw pointed out, meeting with Ryan and Wray/Rosenstein today. No read-out yet. Biggest (domestic) story of the day. Nunes not shy about going nukyler in public. So far, crickets.

If - as seems likely - Wray/Rosenstein came up to try and argue some reasons for non-compliance with House intel committee's requests, in one respect it sadly confirms one of Nunes' strongest charges: that DOJ is stone-walling, foot-dragging, gaming the situation - not cooperating except at gun-point, at the 11th hour.

Which is inexcusable and indefensible, including by resort to a purported need to protect ongoing investigations. If there are legit investigation concerns (not actually very persuasive), then you go to the committee the hour you get the request to explain. Not the afternoon of the deadline day. Non-cooperative suspects are treated differently, for a reason.

Of course the discipline to comply lasted about 3 or 4 days. Then, human nature, youth, and possibly alcohol combined to undermine one's resolve.

122 Wells bored for drinking water are not uncommon in rural areas. No flouride or chlorine. I grew up on one in the 60's. No taste, clean as a whistle. Had a cabin in North Carolina with one. Had to wait for the mud to clear, but it was cold and delicious.
This is a big deal???????
That said, here in Central Florida there was an old artesian well alongside US 17-92 just North of Longwood, Florida. People used to pull over to fill jugs with it. A friend, back in the late 70's. used to get some because it was "natural". Gave her the worst gas she'd ever had. They've since either capped or placed barriers over that well. It was situated in a swamp, so I doubt it had the benefit of much filtering through soil. Same reason you don't want to drink from a spring near a cow pasture.

166 OT from last thread.

198 Jean - one hears this "argument" often, but it makes no sense. For various reasons. Investigations leading to prosecutions are unaffected by sharing info with Congress - even if such info is leaked, there is no effect. Many high profile criminal cases are going on this minute, about which massive publicity existed for months or years prior to trial.

Besides, discouraging leaks is easy. Tell only chairmen and ranking members, with no release to share with staff or others (this very thing is routine with the intel committees, BTW, when it comes to certain covert ops findings and related consultations). But, as noted, leaks don't affect prosecutions. Evidence doesn't change, statutes don't change.

211 Jean - one hears this "argument" often, but it makes no sense.

307 India is the biggest mystery to me. Why is such a smart , family centered culture such a third world shit hole? Did the Brits stagnate their progress? I think that could make a good doctoral thesis .

Here is an idea:
They have a religion that is predicated on the belief that all suffering is due to sins from the past life, and these sins have to expurgated before they can be incarnated in a higher state. Ergo, alleviating someone's suffering in this world you hurt their chances in the next, and thus it is actually kinder not to help.

Not a whole lot of motivation to help the lower castes achieve a better standard of living.

The Brits didn't change anything - nothing for the worse, at least. India's always been the way it is. I think the caste system was a good part of it, and before that the type of culture that develops a caste system.

I love how the 60s hippies were so into destroying the class system (which didn't even exist in America) but they used to idolize India. It still makes laugh just to think about it.

Rosenstein's judgement (lack thereof) has already been spectacularly established by his Mueller appointment (both the office, and the person chosen). It appears Wray might also be a good candidate to go back to the private sector. Other than the baffling (and short-lived) Scaramucci appointment, these two are easily the worst - and most important/worst - appointments Trump has made.

546 Y'know, friends, it all started when the EPA sent me a notice telling me that if I drained that ol' frog pond, they'd shake me and bake me and send me to the slammer if I did that. Well, folks around here call me Ol' Jake, cause when I face a problem, I kinda turn that problem into an opportunity. And I figured that if those pencil-neck feds thought so highly of my frog pond's contents that they'd strip me of my last nickel to protect it, well, there must be one helluva 'n opportunity selling pond scum. I made a call to some big city fellers with my ideas. They said send us five grand and we'll make you a millionaire tomorrow. Best five gs I ever spent. Peace, out! Jake.

Baylisascariasis. It's when humans become infected with a roundworm found in 72 - 100% of raccoons. You get it by ingesting the eggs found in raccoon poop. Guess where those eggs can be often found. If you said rain barrels, you are correct. Raccoons climb just fine, will poop on your roof, and the rain washes the poop down into your barrel.

The most common diagnosis from infection is eosinophilic meningoencephalitis, in which the brain and spinal cord and the meninges membranes surrounding the two become inflamed. Inflammation in the spinal cord and brain can cause seizures and eventually death. Survivors often don't escape a vegetative state.

Drinking raw water is stupid.
