A group of House Republicans has gathered secretly for weeks in the Capitol in an effort to build a case that senior leaders of the Justice Department and FBI improperly -- and perhaps criminally -- mishandled the contents of a dossier that describes alleged ties between President Donald Trump and Russia, according to four people familiar with their plans. A subset of the Republican members of the House intelligence committee, led by Chairman Devin Nunes of California, has been quietly working parallel to the committee's high-profile inquiry into Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election. They haven't informed Democrats about their plans, but they have consulted with the House's general counsel.Meanwhile, today Andrew McCabe, who is emulating his political favorite Hillary Clinton in her convenient lapses of memory when questioned about corrupt actions and corrupt intent, is "testifying" before two House panels. He had previously claimed large gaps in memory in his Senate "testimony" on Tuesday.
The people familiar with Nunes' plans said the goal is to highlight what some committee Republicans see as corruption and conspiracy in the upper ranks of federal law enforcement. The group hopes to release a report early next year detailing their concerns about the DOJ and FBI, and they might seek congressional votes to declassify elements of their evidence.

We will beat it. This 4% came because of Trump's solitary efforts. Not Congress.
It was Trump who:
- Brought consistency to the government, instead of creating nonsense out of thin air to punish businesses.
Slashed regulation.
-Removed silly Global Warming nonsense from how the government does things
- Remove much of the cronyism (this is unseen, but there are no Sylyndra type dirty deals (His enemies would eat him alive - can you say "Impeachment Fodder?")
- Created a business friendly environment that people are more confident that thyeir risks will show a reward.
- Made the energy sector more productive (the productivity under Obama was IN SPITE OF him, not because of him)
- Reduced the burden of Obamacare through allowable policy.
This just off the top of my head, but I predict Trump's recovery is going to dwarf Reagan's, but one big difference between the economy Trump inherited and the one the Gipper inherited is that Reagan came after a man who was inept and weak but well meaning, while Trump's predessessor was maliciously trying to harm this country.
A lot of business has been holding back to protect themselves from Obama's malevolence, and it's coming back very quickly now that "You Didn't Build That", and "Redistribute the Wealth" is no longer the watchwords.
4% is the floor on this recovery. Now that congress has passed tax reform and gutted Obamacare 6%, 7% as a norm, and a topout of 8.5% will take place before we have another recession (which should actually be considered a correct and allowed to take place in the economy naturally).
Pence will have to deal with the recession of 2022. Hopefully people won't buy into the democrat's snake medicine like they did with Obama for the 2007-2008 downturn.
Economic cycle will always have a recession. Democrats make recessions Great Recessions.

I'd like to refer the op-ed writer to the US Constitution.
There are no "independent institutions" in the US government. There are some near-independent institutions, but eventually every institution takes its orders and gets its paychecks from either the SCOTUS, the Congress or the President. From that, the voters get to decide based on the persons they elect (Yes Virginia, elections do have consequences).
The independent DOJ/FBI that Sally Yates referred to, when Trump "fired" her, is a myth. If you aren't elected, you don't get the ultimate decision on anything, except what other job you'd like in the private sector.

Mary Jo was alive for something like 40 minutes (IIRC) in that car, trapped under the water, and waiting for Ted to come back with her rescuers. Meanwhile, Ted had run off to try and sober up, try to convince his friends to lie and give him an alibi, and meeting with his lawyer to try and cook up an excuse for why he'd left Mary Jo to die when he could have easily summoned help in time.
I don't care how many times old Joe had smacked him, there was no excuse for what Ted did to that poor girl.

Well Magnitsky was a Russian lawyer who was beaten to death in a Russian prison by Putin's thugs for the crime of investigating him on behalf of Bill Browder, an America finance dude who worked in Russia.
Putin stole something like $300 million from Browder and Magnitsky was hired to help expose Putin and get the money back. Didn't work out that well.
Browder was also the very first witness to testify in front of the Senate Intel Committee when this whole thing started and he told how Fusion GPS was hired to go after him by Putin and destroy his credibility. His testimony along with a Venezuelan human rights advocate was incredible. They didn't just try to ruin these guys lives with bad press, the broke into their homes and threatened their families so it could be Russian human rights abuses.
This whole Russia thing is so intertwined with bad actors and Fusion always seems to be at the center of it along with Russia and Hillary. This really is a massive and very complex scandal that we are only getting to see the edges of right now.
